--------RULES OF THE GAMERS RESPITE FORUMS-------- This is a brief explanation of the rules of this forum. Breaking any rules below may result in a warn or a ban depending on the severity of the case. I reserve the right to ban or warn any user, member or moderator if I deem it neccessary without notification. Seeing as this is an english forum and is Australian based I ask that you please refrain from posting in any language other then English. Any posts that are posted in a foreign language will be deleted on site without any notification or justification. ------------------------------------------------------------ Rule 1: No inappropraite links, images discussion. We are a PG 13+ forum and I would like it to stay that way. We will warn any users posting content which includes but is not limited to pornography of any kind, warez, pirated content and illegal download. Any sites that contain the above listed will warrant an instant termination of your account and possibly your IP address. Any discussion, images or links of nudity, swearing, illegal content, shareware (ie Limewire), spyware and viruses will also warrent a warn or ban, again depending on the situaion. Aswell as the above listed you may not link to any misleading sites or content. For example linking someone to a screamer and saying "Wow everyone check this out it's really cool!" will warrent a warn or ban as such content WILL NOT be tolerated in these forums. ------------------------------------------------------------ Rule 2: Cursing/swearing is not allowed. We do not allow inappropriate language on these forums. Substituting letters with asterisks, numbers or symbols will be considered as swearing. We do have an autocensor in place however if any user should be found attempting to bypass it they will recieve a warn for bypassing the autocensor. -------------------------------------------------------------- Rule 3: No advertising. We do not allow threads/topics to be created for things such as classified advertising for business, sales, or to seek users/moderators for your personal forum. Doing so may result in a warn depending on the cir(censored)stances and moderator/admin. -------------------------------------------------------------- Rule 4: Spamming and cross posting is not allowed. Spamming is the deliberate posting of advertisements, abusive or unneeded messages on Internet forums. Posting a message of little or no relavance or by adding a post that adds nothing to the discussion, ie "Good job", "What he said". Posting repetitive posts or threads/topics is also considered to be spam. Bumping posts is also considered spam. If your thread has not been replied to just be patient. Should your thread fall to the third page you may post to bump it after several hours however doing so more then once will be considered to be spam and may result in a warning. Thread necromany is also considered to be spam. Thread necromancy is posting in a topic over 3 months old to try to regain conversation. Instead of doing so you may start a new thread of the same topic BUT ONLY IF IT IS OVER 3 MOTNHS OLD AND YOUR QUESTION NOT ANSWERED. Cross posting is also a form of spam. Cross posting is the act of posting your thread in more then one section of the Gamers Respite Forums. Should you have posted in the wrong section of a forum simply report your thread and state that you have posted in the wrong forum and a moderator or admin will move it for you as soon as they can. ------------------------------------------------------------ Rule 5: Trolling is not allowed. In Internet terminology, a troll is someone who intentionally posts derogatory or otherwise inflammatory messages about sensitive topics in an online community such as this forum to lure users into responding. They may also link to images and data that others may find disturbing (usually indirectly relating to the individual in person) in order to cause confrontation. If caught trolling a user may be warned/suspended or banned depending on the situation at hand. ------------------------------------------------------------- Rule 6: Flaming is not allowed. Insulting individuals or groups of members and name calling is known as flaming. Any remark that is made to insult another member or group of members will be considered a flame and thus you may receive a warning/suspension or ban again depending on teh cir(censored)stances. -------------------------------------------------------------- Rule 7: Constructive criticism only. Constructive criticism is posting ways of improving their work instead of just posting "That is an absolute piece of garbage". By posting constructive criticism you are helping improve our community and making a better forum. If found posting only negative comments you WILL recieve a warning. -------------------------------------------------------------- Rule 8: Posting about an action taken by a Moderator or an Admin is also not allowed. You are free to speak to either an Admin or Moderator via PM however and discuss any action taken there. Should you not feel comfortable talking to the offending moderator you are free to PM either a different Moderator or Admin and discuss the action that was taken to them. ------------------------------------------------------------- Rule 9: P2P content, bittorrents or criminal discussion is strictly prohibited in these forums. Discussing or linking to P2P content within this forum is prohibited. Given the nature of these resources and their use with piracy, under no cir(censored)stances can they be linked to within our forums. Violations of these rules will result in a warning, suspension or ban depending on the cirumstances. Bittorrent links and discussion are prohibited within our forums, with exception to use of bittorrent links relating to mods (from clean torrents). Violations relating to bittorrent content will result in an immediate warning, suspension or ban depending on the severity of the case. Similarly, posts admitting to drug use, violence, or other illegal activities are not tolerated within the forums. This includes indicating knowledge of or being witness to unreported illegal activities. Such knowledge should be reported to the authorities not posted on a forum. By following these rules you can guarantee yourself an enjoyable stay on our forums and I bid all our new members "Welcome".
