Just got the limited edition gold and black Zelda 3DS XL. Comes with a digital copy of the title game. Anyone planning on picking up this game? |

I'd love to if I can find work (plus I wanted to download Seasons/Ages first). That sounds a little wrong that the bundle comes with a digital copy of the game as opposed to the physical copy. Nintendo did this with the Wind Waker HD Wii U bundle as well. What are they trying to pull? |

I have no real interest in a 3DS XL simply because the 3DS is a great size in my book. That being said, the new Zelda one looks SHARP. I'll be getting A Link Between Worlds eventually, but I have a lot of other priorities first. Though I do think I'm going to go back and play OoT 3D here very soon. |

Unfortunately for me, the 3DS is a bit small for me. |

I agree, the 3DS XL still cramps my hands up after so long. Besides the lack of 3D, I somewhat see the appeal in the 2DS. Anywho, I was just told by my mom not to order A Link Between Worlds, so yeah...a month from today it will be mine.

I already have a 3ds, and don't plan on getting another of any kind unless the one I have breaks. However, I am interested in this game. I have yet to play A Link to the Past, mind you. I would like to do that first, if at all possible. |

I have played A Link to the Past and I can tell you that beyond the art style and original map, A Link Between Worlds has nothing to do with the original game storywise. It is a stand alone game. |

This is somewhat the case with most games in the series. A Link Between Worlds is confirmed to take place after Link's Awakening (which comes after Seasons/Ages, which comes after A Link to the Past) in the timeline, but the previous events in the timeline are scarcely referenced (or lightly referenced on rare occasions). On the subject of A Link Between Worlds itself, Nintendo has had a hard time communicating how long the game takes place after the rest of the A Link to the Past timeline. Is it the same Link as the one in ALttP, OoS, OoA, and Link's Awakening (it's the same Link in these 4 according to the Hyrule Historia)? Or a more direct descendant (i.e. son/grandson)? Nintendo's been very cryptic about this detail. I just saw an awesome TV spot for this game, by the way: Edited by DAXRULZ, Nov 29 2013, 12:07 AM.

Just thought I'd drop in to add that I've been playing this game since Christmas, and I've been enjoying it quite a bit. I'm not so certain that it deserves all the hype it's been getting, but it's a fun nostalgia trip to Link to the Past to be sure. So far I have 4 of the 7 sages freed. |

I haven't really seen much hype about the game myself. I enjoyed it quite a bit simply because it's so old school. I have not picked up Skyward Sword yet (because it's on the Wii and still $50) but Twilight Princess was a horrendous game in my opinion. I did like Wind Waker but the DS sequel wasn't as much fun. The end to the story was a surprise to me and made it quite an enjoyable experience. It has its flaws, but overall a solid game. |
