![]() Class F: It was said to be haunted by the soul of a student who couldn't handle the life of bearing the forbidden fruit. There's not a lot of books or what-not in this class because they end up being destroyed. The academy decided to refurnish the class once a week. |

"First sub-lesson under Quadratic trinomials is learning how to factor it. I will write it on the board, so continue to copy it." He writes a 'wing' rune to his body and the pair of wings earlier appeared. "When attempting to factor quadratics that have a leading coefficient of 1, we must focus on the values of b and c. The systematic approach for factoring involves factoring c in as many different ways as possible into pairs. Then, find the pair that has a sum that amounts to the value of b. In short, we are looking for a pair of numbers that satisfy two requirements at the same time: they must have a product equal to c and a sum equal to b. Use the examples below to help clarify this technique." He said cheerfully. "I'll write the examples on the board. I'm not good with making quizzes though. I just want the students to learn." He flies and writes the two examples on the board. "First example, Let's start with x2 + 10x + 21. Since c = 21, we will factor 21 in as many pairs as possible. The pairs are: {1, 21} and {3, 7}. Now we must find a pair that has a sum equal to b, which is 10. The first pair has a sum of 22, but this does not match our value for b. The second pair has a sum of 10, and that is a match! This means that this trinomial can be factored to (x + 3)(x + 7). It is confusing at first but you'll get used to it." He flies again to another part of the board to write the last example. "The second example is... another trinomial that has more possibilities, namely x2 - 2x - 24. This problem is more involved because c has a lot of factors and because there are negatives to juggle. If we make a list of all possible factors of -24, we get: {1, -24}, {2, -12}, {3, -8}, {4, -6}, {6, -4}, {8, -3}, {12, -2}, and finally {24, -1}. Our pairs have sums of -23, -10, -5, -2, 2, 5, 10, and 23, respectively. Our fourth sum is a match, so {4, -6} is the winning combination." He writes the examples as fast as he could and lands on the floor safely. "If there is no misunderstanding, proceed on copying these two examples on the board." He looks at Usa-chan and hugged it. As he wrote more letters and numbers, she stared at the board and held her head "Wait, i have to understand this" she mumbled to herself. She just copied down everything he wrote and tried to understand "O-okay so that's how it is" she said. As Algebra class ended, she shook her head. "That's over with...That kind of think wasn't so expected from Shiro-sensei..." she told herself. She looked at Halley to see how she was doing, if she found it all so easy. For Antoinette, Math was a subject she didn't like but understood it somehow. |

Halley looks at her fellow classmate while jotting down notes. "Both of us must be having a hard time. I would like to have a literature lesson though. Math will kill me. I almost turned into a demoness while reading what's on the board. A good student must learn to understand it though. Good thing I studied this already." She laughs. "Shiro-sensei is very dedicated to teach Algebra." She looks at Shiro who was busy sitting on the teacher's table. After writing the examples on her notebook, she puts it back on her bag. "Maybe I'll sleep here. Studying is so hard." |

"I hope we have Literature or English soon...Or Science" she thought. "I wonder what Calyx-sensei would teach" she murmured to herself. She put her notebook back in her bag. "Alright, 1 notebook for Genetics,Biology and now Math" she said checking all her things. |

"Shiro-sensei, wait! When will I train?" She was about to stop him but he already left. "Shiro-sensei and his love for cakes. I'll just take a nap for now. Maybe a teacher might barge in." She thought and used a novel as a pillow. |
