APPLICATIONS - CANON CHARACTERS

::Canon Character Application Rules::

Quote:

1) PREREQUISITES

  • All members who submit canon character applications will require weekly to daily activity. Because you have agreed to take on the responsibilities of an actual DC character, he or she must be present in the day-to-day activities within the Earth-16 universe as they have a high potential to influence the plot and the timeline itself.

  • All members who submit canon character applications must have extensive knowledge on the canon(s) they have agreed to roleplay. Let's face it, nobody likes a player who know Superman by name but doesn't have the faintest idea of how a yellow sun influences his powers or that there's more than one color of Kryptonite.

  • All members who submit canon character applications must provide a good and readable roleplay sample of more than five hundred words. Your roleplay sample must be made with the canon you selected. This will help us ensure that you have a complete understanding of the character and that he/she is in good hands.

2) SUBMISSIONS

  • Once your application has been reviewed, you have one week to respond to any changes needed for your application. This also includes affirming your decision to play the selected canon if the application is approved. If no response is given without any notification, we will inquire if you are still interested in playing the character.

  • If no response is given without any notification within two weeks, your character application will be denied. We believe two weeks is more than sufficient to put in the necessary corrections to your application or sending us a short reply confirming your agreement to play that canon character.

  • If you are a member who wants to select a canon character whose player's application was recently denied, you will need to submit the new application in your own format. Do not copy and paste the other player's application. Anyone caught doing so will have their character applications rejected immediately.

3) CANON LIST

  • While the board has provided you with a list of canon characters that have already appeared or mentioned in the Earth-16 universe and beyond that, note that those are not the only canons that you can apply for. The DC Universe has so many characters than our list could handle. Don't fret if we've missed out on someone.

  • If there are any canons missing from our list who you'd like to roleplay, you must inform an administrator first before you are permitted to submit your application. This is to prevent players from working tirelessly to create their application only to have it denied by the reviewing team, especially if it concerns certain characters.

4) TYPES OF CANONS

  • Canon characters marked in green are generally open for applications and reservations. While these characters aren't that significantly important, they may still contribute to the plot and the future of the board's RP timeline. Some knowledge of the character is always recommended.

  • Canon characters marked in yellow require good weekly activity from the player and a much higher degree of roleplaying experience. These characters are important to the DC Universe but not to a point where their presence will influence the overall plot and the future of the board's RP timeline.

  • Canon characters marked in red require permission from an administrator, frequent weekly activity, and roleplaying experience of the highest caliber. These characters are very iconic to the DC Universe with both their presence and actions influencing the overall plot and the future of the board's RP timeline.

5) RESERVATIONS

  • Canon characters may be reserved for up to one week and you may renew your reservation. Use this privilege wisely and do not let your reservation period lapse. This will ensure a situation where two or more people attempting to apply for the same canon character does not occur. Submit your applications as soon as possible within the seven day period.

  • Inactivity without any further notifications to the administrator will not only result in you losing the reserved character but also your privilege to reserve a character for a period seven days.

  • Reservations for additional canon characters are similar to the applications. You must have at least 25 forum posts and must have already actively played your previous character for a minimum of a month. It is acceptable if you want to reserve a canon character that has yet to be included or updated on the list.

6) TWEAK YOUR CANONS

  • In the comics, everything is scripted and the storylines are already planned out. Generation Next isn't a comic. It has multiple players playing multiple characters in a universe that is largely untapped and free from the many continuity restraints set by the main DC Universe or other worlds in the Multiverse.

  • Canon characters who appear in Earth-16 may be inspired by their comic book counterparts, but their histories differ. When composing a biography for your canon character, don't attempt to follow everything that the character experienced in the comics. It is acceptable if parts of your character's history are completely original.

  • It is acceptable, to a degree, if you quote sites like DC Wiki, Comic Vine, or Wikipedia when composing your canon's powers and abilities. However, we highly recommend that you expand a little on the description and details of those said powers and abilities in your own words. It lets us know that you truly understand the character.

7) REMINDER

  • Last but not least, we'd like to remind you that while this board is based of the Earth-16 canon, it is hardly cemented to it. All the events planned by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman prior to the cancellation of Young Justice will not happen here. You, the player, will now decide how the story will play out.

  • At the end of the day, Generation Next is a "what-if" roleplay or an alternate universe (AU). Histories will be changed along with the characters that experienced them. It is completely acceptable if events from the comics are brought up during the roleplay but they should only be used as an inspiration, not a follow-up.
