::THE DO'S::

  • Proper spacing between paragraphs please. Pretty self explanatory, and we're sure you've got this covered unless a writing course is completely foreign to you. This makes your application a lot easier on the eyes. Nobody likes to strain their eyes while reading, not you and especially not the people who will review your application.

  • Fill out all the required particulars of the template correctly and appropriately. An application template has been provided for your convenience and the particulars aren't all that difficult to figure out. All the instructions contained in parenthesis should be deleted and replaced with the information that you, the player, will provide.

  • Edit, proofread, spell check your applications before submitting them. Well written applications with minimal errors can and will be approved on the first go. We've gone through dozens of applications in the past and it's extremely easy for us to tell if someone has never taken the initiative or ever bothered about quality and readability.

  • Include an appropriate and sizable image for your character that doesn't stretch the page. If you don't have any program that allows you to re-size images kindly inform the staff with a footnote below your application. Remember to give credit if you are using images belonging to other artists (ex: Bruce Timm, Phil Bourassa, Sam Liu, etc.)

  • Always provide a roleplay sample. Even when you submit an application for an extra character. Of course, don't make those roleplay samples the exact replicas of each other. Composing different roleplaying samples affirms your passion for creative writing, so don't let that wonderful talent of yours go to waste.

  • Preview your post before submitting your character applications. This helps in the event of final inspection of your application in the event you missed out on a few particulars, messed up the coding, edit in some new ideas you just brainstormed, etc. Sometimes, it is better to do this than to scroll through the application and it'll be visually appeasing.

  • Refer to already accepted applications as examples. The board has plenty of accepted applications that you can glance over if you are unsure how to fill out a certain section of the application. A lot of things that you may have missed are clarified in the applications of existing members. Take advantage of that, please.

::THE DON'TS::

  • Don't submit an application that is a work in progress (WIP). If you can't finish your application on the first go, kindly use the writing programs installed on your computers and save your unfinished work there. No one likes a submitted application that's only half-way done, as it only lengthens the reviewing process considerably.

  • Don't change the format of the application. If you do, the people who review your application may not even give it a second glance. If you want to organize it with the table coding or if you want to add some minor particulars, that's fine. But don't go changing the entire template into something completely unorganized or unrecognizable.

  • Don't pester the staff if the reviewing process takes longer than you anticipated. Most of the staff are either pursuing their academic degrees or are already working, so they have other obligations to attend to. We will try our absolute best to get your character into the roleplay A.S.A.P., so please resist that urge to bump your topic.

  • Don't offer your assistance to any newly registered member working on their application, especially if your application is under review as well. We understand that we, as humans, can sometimes be consumed by enthusiasm but we have a working staff here and it's their job to offer help when it's needed. You're welcome.

  • Don't plagiarize the works of others. This is after all your character application. If you plan to use content and material from other sources, don't forget to cite. Include all those citations as footnotes at the end of your application. Give credit where it is due, never forget that. Those people took a lot of time and effort working that stuff.

  • Don't ignore any concepts that are banned or otherwise prohibited. Do so, and the people reviewing your application will generally assume that you have ignored the board's rules and information, were too lazy to read the board's rules and information, or are ballsy thinking that you can do as you please and get away with it.

  • Don't take it personally if an admin or a staff member disapproves your application. Learning from your mistakes helps you improve after all and constructive criticism is what we go through everyday in life. The reviewer's job is to make sure your character works perfectly within the boundaries of the board's roleplay.
