Rise and shine, my duckies! I know that things have been going rather slowly lately, and on behalf of myself and the other project heads, I'm sorry. There has been much planning going on over Skype in regards to Things Happening, which leads to the point of this thread. Some of you may be aware of a separate Ghost Trick Musical Project going over on tumblr. Some time ago, it was suggested that we join forces with them. Back then, we opted to not do that, since our goals were different enough that it would be complicated (they had been aiming to make a live stage show). Those of you good at guessing can probably figure why I'm suddenly bringing this up and where I'm going with it. The Kickstarter idea we've been working on is still in the works. We're still getting the demo reel together and still plan to get Capcom's blessing for this thing. But we're holding off because we want to make sure the demo reel is the best quality it can possibly be. To do that, we've been looking to get added manpower for this project. And one of our new recruits to the team is none other than Squiggly, the head of the former Tumblr GTMP. Yeah, sadly, it's "former". She recently closed up shop on it, due to lack of activity. But Squiggly still has Ghost Trick on the brain (as everyone should), and so she has agreed to help us with our project! So! Where does that leave us? Well, for starters, she will be helping us with the instrumentals. She has already posted her go at "Somewhere in this Very Town" and is going to be helping with more. So that's great news! She also is happy to let us use some of the songs written for her own project, which already have music finished for them. The songs can all be found here, except for Missile's song, which can be found here. As it stands, here are the thoughts on the current songs: - "The Beginning of the Night", "The Story of Five Years Ago", and "Revenge~ALERT!!!" are not going to be used. They cover the same material as "Somewhere In This Very Town", "Kamila's Tale", and "What Can Never Die", all of which everyone agrees are fine songs, the last of which is finished music-wise, the second of which has the melody done, and the first of which we have a basically-finished instrumental demo for. - I am strongly of the opinion that we don't use "Ten Years Ago". While it doesn't cover material we already have a song for, the content of the song is already used in "Regret (Jowd)" and "Confessions From Ten Years Ago". Moreover, I feel that it would disrupt the pacing of the story 9the song takes place when Sissel speaks to Jowd, as Cabanela is arresting him). I do, however, feel that with some tweakage, the music itself could be fit for "Confessions of Ten Years Ago". - I also would really rather not use "I'm Not Going To Let Anyone Die", mainly because it covers the same content as "Egads! That's Just Plain Off" and I...just prefer that one. I'm sorry, I'm probably biased, but yeah. At the very least, the reprise wouldn't make much sense without "Egads!". So if everyone else really would rather use this song, I'll go with it. But I am of the opinion that we shouldn't. I am, however, wondering if the music would work if we tweaked it for "Me, the Mystery". - While the song "Moving On" will not be used (it covers the same content as "Never Too Late"), Squiggly intends to use the music for that song to work on "Never Too Late". Please note that the instrumentals on Squiggly's tumblr are outdated and the most recent ones for that song can be found here. - "Gossip In The Junkyard", I think, could be added to the story. It covers content that we don't have a song for (the police gossiping about what all went down as they collect Yomiel's body) and fits in well. If we use it though, I would like for Squiggly to see if she could work Inspector Cabanela's theme from "Cabanela's Baby" in for his parts, so we get a sort of preview for when "Cabanela's Baby" rolls around. - "Lost Inside My Mind" could work, seeing as we don't have a song for the content it covers. However it would have to come RIGHT at the heels of "Cabanela's Baby (Reprise)", which might make for too much singing in a short span of time (it has Sissel musing over Lynne's apparent murder of him as he goes to Point X). If everyone else thinks it'd work though, I'd be down for it. The same goes for "The Mysterious Meeting". It could work well, but it'd come right after "A Strange Device" and would take place at a point that I feel would work better spoken and more contemplative. I personally don't think it should be used, but if everyone else likes it, I'll go with it. - Most of the members of the project seem in agreement that we should replace "Barking! There's Not Much Else In Life!" with "I'm Missile!" Similarly, "Final Fight" will probably be replaced with "Final Chance". So, there we have it! That's where we currently stand with progress and the turn things have taken. Most of what's up there? That's my opinion. So it hasn't been set in stone. Please, comment here and let us know what you think. Listen to the music, see where it'd go in the story, and give your opinions. We'll get this all sorted out and move onward and upwards, folks! You guys. This is gonna rock! |

Agreed. I would have put it under Announcements, but Enigma's the only one who can post under there. ^^; |
