Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Greetings from Aura Hyperia
Our RegionOur Forum

Hello, everyone. I am Mara Sargon, the Emperor of Aura Hyperia, and I have decided to personally represent my region here for the time being. I'll keep this introduction fairly brief, so don't worry about me spouting out an essay. :D

Aura Hyperia was originally founded on July 13th, 2010. It lasted until about the second week of that December, whereupon I and about half of the region fled the wrath of the Founder. The membership mostly stayed together, though one of them, Mahaj, went on to do bigger things. After attempting to make some other regions work, we eventually returned to the newly refounded Aura Hyperia on September 10th of last year. We tried to make our older Charter work again, but activity levels on the forum made it too cumbersome to work with, so we opted for a centralized imperial system instead.

We've established for ourselves a somewhat successful raiding career, and our handiwork can be seen in the embassy section of a region called "The Commonwealth of Regions." Unlike most raiders, our targets are picked for specific reasons. We like dismantling Black Rider embassies, for one. We also just tend to go after folks who piss us off, such as our current campaign against the Roman community. Our intention is to get around to rebuilding these regions as colonies, since we've just about reached the extent of our ability to recruit for our own region, though we're a bit hung up on giving them different flavors; we don't want to just make two dozen carbon copies of Aura Hyperia, obviously.

That's the long-short of it. Look forward to working with y'all.

Hey don't blame me, I wanted to be the First Citizen. But we're Asimov-themed, and I guess my boys preferred the Emperor to the Mule.

This brings tears to my eyes as I am huge fan of foundation and have always thought nationstates needed a themed region of that sort. But what a pity you aren't the mule, he was such a unique character. I just can't understand why you wouldn't make a legion of Asimov-themed regions though.

We're some kind of weird hybrid between the Galatic Empire and the Imperium of Man. We've got Trantor and Space Marines on the same forum. It's what happens when you get a bunch of nerds together who like far-future sci-fi.

Hi Mara Hyperia!

I'm happy that we can have diplomacy between a raider and a defender region, it makes the game more fun and interesting, shame not everyone sees it that way *cough TNI LKE Albion cough* :P

And I agree it would be really cool if you could be The Mule.

SL, I never knew you were an Asimov fan? Me too! There used to be a region called Trantor back in the day too.

I have mixed opinions of Asimov's work. when he got greedy and tried to tie his series together he completely ruined them.

Well and like I said, we may be unrepentant imperialists, but we have a method to our madness. (Rebuild what we destroy.) We're also the only raider region with a moratorium on mocking the natives.

SL - No! I love those books! Foundation and Earth is one of my favourites!

MS - I think you're wise to do that, having a proper set-up with laws will keep your people loyal to you, it differentiates you. And I've always though the smash and grab style raiders must struggle to keep people active for a long time, it's short lived.

Hey!

Major respect for that moratorium, you seem to be better folk than the arsehats over at UIAF. Won't stop me from kicking you the hell out of your occupations, but where would the fun be if I didn't do that? ;)

Trying to kick us out is the whole point of R/D ain't it? :P Not sure why you'd want to, though. We raid to dismantle the Black Riders and rebuild their victims, and we raid folks we are really, really, really pissed at. We're not much for the whole random strikes thing. Our primary selling point is assisting allies with their defenses, hence why we keep an invader and defender tag.

I suppose technically, if you're raiding Black Riders' occupied regions, you're liberating (though I guess that depends if you leave after too!).

We go after the ones that have fallen inactive and refound them. After putting on a password we typically give the residents instructions on where to temporarily move so we can inform them when the refounding is complete. If they follow those instructions, they're invited back into the region.

So far we've only had that happen a couple of times, and they went inactive the instant they moved. We do try, though. :/

Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.

If you care to read the dispatches pinned to our region page, we have our entire philosophy printed for all to see. We don't intentionally* hide anything. Our philosophy, tl;dr, is that we do what we can because we can with the intent in mind to have good sportsmanship while playing the game. If more raiders had that philosophy, more people might see R/D as fun rather than the moral crusade it seems to have turned into as a result of needless mockery on the raiders' part.

*Any appearance of secrecy is only due to us not wishing to constantly repeat what is clearly printed on our region page.
