| Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums! Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register. Join our Community Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system. I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way. Getting Started If you're already a member please log in to your account to access all of our features. |

That might help. The main issue right now is that joining a pure Defender alliance would limit our ability to conduct raids; even if they're just mercenary raids now. |

Are you thinking of going full time defender though, or continuing to be mercenary? |

I was thinking of going full-time defenders, but that has been vetoed by the angry mob. So yes, we'll continue to be mercenary. (Not that it's going to make much practical difference seeing who our friends are.) |

if you personally want to become a full time defender, I (people get upset when I say we but I would like to think everyone else would as well) would vouch for you to be a ranger. another option is it simply have an alliance directly with the FRA. they are usually just mutual protection pacts |

I must ask what the benefits are of being a "mercenary"? |

I am afraid that is not the case at all; in my experience, if you are active during update, there are plenty of opportunities to see plenty of "action" on either side. I just can not fathom the ability to trust a "mercenary" group that could as easily turn on me in the middle of an operation to switch sides. |

that's basically it. very few militaries are big enough to operate independently, that is, take and hold a region or liberate a strongly held region. so they have to work together but no decent gameplayer would trust a mercenary enough to work with them on important missions. look at the UDL when it first started. they allowed flip-floppers but it only made it more difficult for them in the long run.

I think it's an interesting idea. You could write up contracts for each mission so you can't break the agreement. |

Pretty much. Don't really know why you wouldn't do that unless you just don't care about being turned upon in the middle of an operation. |

Jay Bles I know you are a bit outdated, but how do you expect to write a contract for a UPDATE Mission? Sometimes you have as little as 5 minutes of notice, how could you possibly have something drawn up by then. And what are the repercussions for not adhering to it? You don't get to play anymore? Baloney! |

I don't imagine AH are going to be mercenaries for TBR or BoM, it's more likely they'll be working for people with less experience, who need help and numbers, and who are probably planning their attacks in advance, rather than opportunist raiders. But I admit I am outdated in military doingses.

In the absence of a judiciary and/or any rules stopping us, why don't we just ban Mara Sargon? S/he is fucking tedious (and irrelevant by the looks of things). |

Dude, fuck you. I didn't come to the GRA, the GRA came to me. If you don't want to associate with regions like mine, then don't seek us out. |

I don't want to set the precedent of simply banning annoying people. Let's just gulag him.
