Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Three dispatches I recommend reading if you want a basic understanding of how my region works.

Charter - Obviously.
A Brief Outline of Hyperionism - Our philosophy. Sort of a second charter in terms of importance.
Join the Service, See the World - A little information piece for newer players who don't understand the point of our having a forum.

An interesting read!

It can therefore never be a bad thing to expand, since there are no consequences, no chance for retribution, and a good possibility that random people will walk in and run across our main region. In other words, even in the worst case scenario expansion is just free advertising. You can't go wrong.

I'd say that 'no consequences' isn't true though, I mean the main consequence of course is that someone else's community loses its independence, but even for AH itself, you have the consequence that you become a target for liberators, no?

Those aren't consequences, they're goals. :P

OK, to enter into an ideological debate, don't you think communities people have built should be allowed to maintained? What would you think if someone took over Aura Hyperia (imagining you were founderless)?

False premise. We don't subscribe to Raiderism or Defenderism, we subscribe to, "Allies, Enemies, and Clients"-ism. No community "deserves" to be maintained if they think making enemies and being defenseless are compatible goals.

you are mixing two very different ideas. communities are real things. they are groups of people relating to one another. regions are just the jumping off point for these communities. you can take over a region but you can't destroy a community unless you take down their mediums of communication, i.e., forum. destroying forums is almost universally seen as unforgivable, an act that is taking the game way too seriously to the point of basically breaking our thin fourth wall. destroying a region on the other hand is all a part of the game. the nations can move to a new region and the community can continue one. the ethics of gameplay that some like unibot love to believe in is their own type of roleplay, at least that is what most people will consider it. so when you say communities I believe your statement would be met with opposition from nearly anyone, so you should really say regions instead. tl;dr regions are just a name in a fictional game. but communities are people.

defending and raiding are both silly but raiding is even sillier. (not that a game shouldn't be silly) if you look at the military aspect of gameplay, objectively, the two best outlets for military activity are defending and raiding. that's why it's called R/D. but I digress, your statement was only addressing a fraction of circumstances. so please explain what your stupid ethics are for when a region is invaded without provocation.

I quite agree, I'm not one of those who thinks raiders are 'bad', that's silliness. What I'm talking about is tactics such banjecting all natives, clearing WFE info, etc. Not that these are comparable to forum destruction which is truly deplorable. And not that I'm accusing Aura Hyperia of these crimes, it's just that line in your charter suggests some belief in such methods.

Semantic nitpicking. You knew I was referring to regions.

Possibly because we've employed them multiple times.........? Except forum destruction, obviously.

I think that we should declare war on Aura Hyperia. They're clearly fucking idiots and utterly incompetent, so no danger of any meaningful backlash.
