| Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums! Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register. Join our Community Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system. I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. Appreciated Members of the Congress The citizens of the Confederacy of Latao have voted to initiate a total revision of the country’s federal constitution. For this purpose, a Constitutional Commission has been built. The Constitutional Commission consists of 100 members and is assembled as follows: - 4 representatives of each district; 2 of them are members of the district’s parliaments and 2 of them are members of the district’s judiciaries. - 30 representatives of the Confederacy authorities, including legal experts - 10 interested citizens as representatives of the people The goal of the project and the commission is not to start a political revolution, but to slightly adjust the nation’s basic law to the needs and desires of today. Latao as a proud member of the regional authorities would like to invent its neighbors to the democratic process. Our permanent mission will present the new constitution to the delegates when ready. Major parts of the total revision are as follows: “Cultural Revolution” New official names for the country and its governing bodies have been suggested. Several ideas are currently being discussed in the commission: Governing Council “Government” whereas National Executive Committee President whereas Federal President Senate whereas Senator Council Province whereas District Legal Modernization Since the constitution of the confederacy of Latao is more than 200 years old and several changes and amendments have made it difficult to read and to understand, we think that it’s time to update some basic practices which are today recognized as traditional law. Judicial Reformations The Commission discusses ways for an easier and more cost-effective organization of judicial courts. It is possible that the death penalty is abolished in Latao. Reformation of the Electoral System General Suffrage is supposed to go down to 18 years. Armed Forces Reformation The Commission discusses with experts on how Latao’s military can be reformed. |
