| Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums! Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register. Join our Community Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system. I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way. Getting Started If you're already a member please log in to your account to access all of our features. |

I don't understand why people blindly believe in something they can't see or hear. The only record of a god is a the bible and it is just a book. You don't believe everything you read do you? I am wondering if someone could help me understand. |

Surely atheists are the antithesis of materialistic??? I mean, Marxism and other radical social critiques are very much anti-materialism whilst being inherently atheist. Max Weber, and his 'the protestant ethic' - the groundbreaking work on why capitalism is so successful in the Anglo-phone world, actually identifies the role that Christianity plays in fuelling materialism. I think you got it the wrong way around. |

I found this on the NS forums. It is interesting and true I believe anyway. Bad Religion - Atheist Peace Maybe it’s too late for an intellectual debate, but a residue of confusion remains. Changing with the times, and developmentally tortured minds are the average citizen's sources of pain. Tell me what we’re fighting for I don’t remember anymore, only temporary reprieve And the world might cease if we fail to tame the beast from the faith that you release comes an atheist peace. Atheist peace. Political forces rent bitter cold winds of discontent and the modern age emerged triumphantly. But now it seems we've stalled And it’s time to de-evolve and relive the dark chapters of history Tell me what we’re fighting for No progress ever came from war, only a false sense of increase and the world won’t wait for the truth upon a plate but we’re ready now to feast on an atheist peace. Atheist peace" |

I have not read all the replies in this thread (6 pages of to big replies for my small Brain). But I think...
That’s not really true, Records of some form of a divine being is thought by many to predate the written word. The best reason I can find for believing in some form of God is because it’s better to do so than not too. Belief in God means belief in something higher watching over us, belief that this life isn't everything existence has to offer and that there is some order and reason to the world around us. I think that’s a very comforting thought. I find people often class Religion as evil but I'd judge these people to be Ignorant. It is not the religion that is evil or wrong but it is the misapplication of religion. Look in any major religion you like and you'll find positive ideas of peace etc it is merely the corruption that pollutes all society that has added an evil element to religion. E.G. I am almost certain very few "Islamic" terrorists know anything about the Islamic faith and even fewer have understood anything about it, if they did they would see that we all told we myust be relentless in the Quest to preserve Human life and that’s means can never be justified by ends.
It is true to say that one might expect an omnipotent force to solve the worlds problems but would we really want that? To makes mistakes is to be human. If God forced us into a perfect society we would be no more than enslaved Clones, I’d rather imperfection. |
