Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

I am entirely in agreement with Dal. First of all, legal immigration is a good thing--it adds cultural enrichment, in many cases increases the quality of life (economically speaking) of the immigrants, increases the work force, increases gov't income derived through taxes...very little downside here imo.

BUT, illegal immigration is a new ball game entirely. No money is paid in taxes, yet tax money is spent on gov't programs that the illegals take advantage of--a double whammy so to speak. At the same time, a good portion of the money being paid out to the illegals isn't even being reciruculated into our economy--its being sent back accross the border. With illegals being so underpaid, quality of life is low which gives way to poverty and crime--which in turns feeds right back into the first "double whammy" I mentioned.

Also, I don't buy the "no one will do the job" argument. There will always be people who need jobs that will do whatever it takes...and if not, begin programs that allow non-violent criminal offenders to take the jobs. Seriously, not like "slave labor" or anything--if they're non-violent offenders, what's wrong with letting them work (supervised, of course), earn a small yet reasonable wage, all while adding to the productivity of our society?

Few criminals will take a crappy job over a job that gets them easy money.

Yes, Mendra...I meant that for the non-violent criminals to fill job vacancies.

And JW, I don't purport to know the intimacies of the US justice and penal system, but I have a great deal of family that works in law enforcement, corrections and in the courts...going on what I hear from them (and again...I'm not claiming that their experiences are necessarily indicative of the entire nation), many non-violents would love a chance to get our of their cells and out of the physical confines of prison/jail for 8 hours a day and earn income for when they are released (as opposed to sweat-shop like conditions for well less than minimum wage as they received doing "work" within the facility itself)
