| Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums! Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register. Join our Community Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system. I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. Thought I would share something with you that happened to me this morning. I had to get to work at 9am on the dot due to having a meeting etc etc and so was exceptionally flustered when i woke up late and discovered i had 10 minutes to shower/dress/eat and catch my train into Charing Cross (London). Having got to the train station with about 2 minutes to spare, there was a massive queue for tickets and the train after mine would have got me into work by 9.30 which was unacceptable,.so, seeing that one of the ticket barriers was open, I ran through with a number of other people and boarded the train just as it was about to leave. Now at this point, I was ticketless and promptly walked the length of the train to find a conductor to sell me a ticket. After a frustrating search, in which no conductor could be found i reconciled myself to explaining my situation to a guard at Charing Cross, and hopefully being able to purchase a ticket and get on my way to work. After arriving at aforementioned station, i presented myself at the ticket barriers and explained my situation to an understanding guard who directed me to a small office from which to buy a ticket. Whilst in the queue, i saw a number of people who were on my train who were clearly in the same situation as me. Now, this may sound trivial but the two people directly before and behind me were both black, whilst i was wearing a suit/shirt/tie etc etc We were then approached by a black ticket inspector who approached the black women in front of me and enquired why she didnt have a ticket. She voiced a position near synonymous with mine and was allowed to proceed to the desk to buy a ticket. I was then asked why i didnt have a ticket, and i explained, but this time he took me to one side and gave me a £30 fine! Whatsmore, he seemed to take serious pleasure in doing it...he asked me whether i was in a rush, and i affirmed his question and told him that i had an important meeting etc etc BUT this only made him go slower. When i went to leave, i turned back, and the inspector went back to the queue and pulled out a white girl and proceeded to go through the same routine as he had done with me...one has to note that there was two black people in front of this girl whom he completely ignored. Was i the victim of racial discrimination? I know that i should have had a ticket, and in that sense i don't mind paying the fine. What has really p.issed me off is the seemingly racial basis from which the inspector choose who was fined and who wasnt. I'm contemplating complaining, as i've always based a large part of my morality on being inherently anti-racist, and being white and middle class i've never experienced it before, until now. I just don’t want to be an apologist for black on white racism on the basis that black people unfortunately suffer disproportionately more racism then white people doe. |

The point is in the world we live in we thusforth try to provide ourselves as not being racist by not doing things we would deem racist, thusforth making us racist by limiting us to things we stereotype as racist actions hencegoing making a course of action to prevent the racist slur upon making us self-serving "racist" in which we find ourselves as being more racist when we try not to be racist. All is fair in love and war. |

I am in general agreement, you should complain seeing as you are good at it.
Don't forget positive discrimination also.
Actually, the celts where in Britain before the anglo-saxons arrived, but I'll be happy to settle with both. |

If I may interject a small point, how about just complaining that not all of you were given the same opportunity to buy a late ticket, leaving out the race of the people involved. Of course if you could register your complaint in person it would be better. That way the *complainee* would be forced to ask what was different between the ones involved and bring up race themselves. I live in the US and racism and the political correctness of it is just driving me crazy.
