Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

I would vote fiction, above all.

I like a good political thriller (Tom Clancy, but he's rather American-focused) or a fantasy (I'm open to most things, but acquiring these books might be harder for those who depend on public/school libraries.)

I'm up for re-reading the Bourne series. Almost anything by Robert Ludlum is good.

Or maybe an alternative history book, never tried that genre before but may be good.

How about a jeffery archer book like "a twist in the tale" or "the prodigal daughter". I think that will suit everyone - Archer = expolitican-the political slant L&H et al look for. its fiction. Its not based on poltics (according to the description) and its sounds good.

I know that the Author being Jeffrey Archer may sound off putting but I think he is a great author even if a pathetic politican (IMO). I have just read "The first amongst equals" and thought it was pretty awesome.

Archers books (first amongst equal excluded) are not actually about politicals their are just written by a failed (ha!) Tory.

my library has many of these books, how about "The Fourth Estate"?

Summary:
The ambitions of two very different men--Keith Townsend, the son of a millionaire, and Richard Armstrong, the son of an illiterate Jewish peasant who embarks on a campaign for power--collide on a global scale.
The collision of ambitions of two entirely different men and the global impact that follows.

but any will work lets pick one and go for it.

My Choice..

A Graham Hancock

A little be it History, Archaeology and Wishful Thinking.

How about The Sign and the Seal, A quest for the lost Ark of the Covenant.

My reason for picking this one is that I just bought a signed copy for €2 at the local library clearance sale.

I suggest Jeffery Archer's "A Twist in the Tale.

I haven't read it but it looks good and other Archer books are quite good.

The expected never happens...A man calls unexpectedly on his mistress and sees another man leaving her flat. Accusing her of being unfaithful, he quarrels with her, strikes her. She dies. Leaving unseen, he tips off the police so that the other man is arrested and charged...Has he achieved 'The Perfect Murder'? A tanstalising opening to A Twist in the Tale. Consider also: a wine-tasting with a bizarre difference, a game of sex with a sexy stranger, a violent row in a golf clubhouse bar, a rivalry founded on eating cornflakes...just some of the openings in this cunningly constructed, fast-moving, entertaining set of stories from THE bestselling author of our time.

I am surprised that it is a good read... :o

The 1st story twist was good.

2nd I guessed.

3rd was not really a twist at all.

An easy read though..
