Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Its not brainwashing it's just making your kid believe in the religion you do. You guys might not of had it happened to you but I know it has happened to many others including myself.

Nearer to the topic on hand I am always amused that when you ask people has Israel a right to exist the answer is (rightly) yes but ask the same question for Palestine and you get a qualified answer if not a negative.

That's why you P.I. are useless.

Anyways Ath like LH said I thought brainwashing was supposed to work. Obviously if these people including yourself chose something else other then the religion of their parents they weren't brainwashed.

Passing you religions to your children isn't some devious act to indoctrinate them its just passing a family tradition. If you look at the overall picture of children are taught anything and everything religion is no different then being taught how to act in society and all that.

If you have issues with your parents, you are probably wrong unless you hate them for teaching you everything they've ever taught you.

brain·wash·ing /ˈbreɪnˌwɒʃɪŋ, -ˌwɔʃɪŋ/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[breyn-wosh-ing, -waw-shing] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. a method for systematically changing attitudes or altering beliefs, originated in totalitarian countries, esp. through the use of torture, drugs, or psychological-stress techniques.
2. any method of controlled systematic indoctrination, esp. one based on repetition or confusion: brainwashing by TV commercials.
3. an instance of subjecting or being subjected to such techniques: efforts to halt the brainwashing of captive audiences.

We learn a lot of things by repetition, we memorize by repetition religion is that same as it all. You are wrong unless you were drugged tortured into religion. Which is unlikely.

If you are away of it now and made a choice to not follow the religion it wasn't brainwashing. Brainwashing would be imbedded in your mind and you wouldn't have a choice. You and the others you talk of were taught, educated of religion, a tradition and family value was passed down to you. You grew up and decided to reject that, which is fine but the key word is decided. You were aware of what you were taught and you made a choice.

If you were truly brainwashed you wouldn't have a choice or want to make a choice.

The only true example of religious Christian brainwashing that is despicable is Jesus Camp. Which, is a camp to indoctrinate children and turn them into 'soldiers of Christ' and future 'crusaders' and extremists equal to that of Muslim extremists. The woman who leads this actually says that [in different words], something along the lines of 'if they [Muslims] are doing it, if they are putting a gun in the hands of children, we need to do the same to stop terrorism. Of course she is to ignorant to realize fight fire with fire never actually works, it just makes a bigger fire.

It's cool that we had similar experiences. The funny part is that during the time I had my epiphany, and it was really an epiphany but I won't go into detail cuz the atheists will start calling me insane. Anyways the funny thing is that I was really into buddhism, I would never convert because I have a strong connection to family traditions but I liked buddhism.

During that time I researched a lot of religions, but would never convert. I even tried reading the Koran but it was very dull and extremely long.

The Koran is very repetitious. But that makes reading through it like repeating the same rituals over and over again, so you become indoctrinated.

Why such a fuss over this Israel thing? It's something we all knew, and hopefully it will lead to a policy change.
