Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Okay Mozilla has outdone itself once again and outscored the already obsolete Explore 7 or 8.

Among some fixes and optimizations and many features I haven't really explored.

There is one really great feature that some people like Ath and F4U and myself at times is really helpful. The browser has a BUILT-IN SPELL CHECKER for any text you write.

So I encourage all of you with spelling difficulties to get the new Mozilla Firefox 2 upgrade and gain some respect for not having terrible spelling. Although it doesn't correct grammar so Ath you are shit out of luck.

But do keep your IE7 up to date because some sites don't like firefox and only work with IE7.

A few quick notes

1. Been using Firefox for a while...I consider it quite superior to older versions of IE and AT LEAST as good as the most recent IE release if not better. Firefox V2 is definitely my preferred browser.

2. Obana's right...for example, I use Yahoo! premium radio feature (LaunchCast Plus)...this won't operate through FF and requires IE or Netscape.

3. Ummm....maybe this has been around for a while, but I just noticed it for the first time with FF. If you're in the options menu and are configuring your preferred language, 'Klingon' is an option.

Now go to tools and hit add-ons. then go there and get any extras you may like. they are cool. I got colorful tabs, flashgot, image tool bar, forcast fox and gmail notifier. there are many more and easy to install. don't forget to check out themes too.

The bookmark wipe happend to me once. I guess I'm a noob too cuz I don't know why. But its fine now and I have a back up folder.

Anyways, Firefox doesn't delete IE, and keep IE just in case. Like for example I can't check my grades and timetables on my school account on firefox.

But yea umm in terms of new IE7 and Firefox V2, IE only just caught up with Firefox V1, the V2 is still far above IE7.

The reason most crap doesn't work with some of the crappy programs your school uses if that very reason, they're too n00bish to be compatible with firefox.

Wow you're a genius. I'm sure my schools little system is only compatible with IE, because IE is a default browser that everyone with a PC has. Thats the most reliable way to offer the service in a way that won't require someone to download.

Because the world is filled with noobs.

lol faster...speed has very little to do with the browser. At least I've never seen the difference and I've used both at the same time.

There was some trick to make FF go faster... *Hunts*. Here it is:

Quote:

Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up: 1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now!
