Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

If you go to Heaven correct? Which has been described as eternal life and eternal happiness. Then wouldn't that be a terrible existence? Just think about the things that motivate us as a society or individuals. I mean we hardly ever get motivated or never get motivated when we are happy.

We always try to stay happy and make that emotion last as long as possible in order to stay happy. If we don't have that drive then what kind of existence would that be? Wouldn't it be a miserable eternal life? We learn, we work, we explore, we socialize, we find entertainment and love in the hopes of being happy. But if you remove that drive then what else is there, because if we are eternally happy then why should we do anything? I mean my god the whole idea that heaven is great place is false. Wouldn't it seem like it would be a hellish place to live?

I mean what would be the reason to go to college, work, date, or do anything else if your always and completely a happy?

Ath..what you don't seem to comprehend is that Heaven is described to be on an entirely different plane from the world we live in; emotions simply do not exist/or are different from this plane.

If you have no emotions then you wouldn't be happy or anything else. Emotions are what make us who we are. If we had none we'd still have nothing to do. No reason to talk to all of our dead relatives or even to God.

It has always be the interpetation that one there was a Heaven and that it would be a paradise. It has also been interpeted by many if not most christians that you would recieve eternal happiness and eternal life.

Yeah..I like these "most" statistics of yours..where can this be found, "most Christians" you know, "most Christians" you've made up in your mind to fit your bs?...where are these most Christians.

Being a baptised Catholic I can say that this is a fundamental in Catholicism.

And Catholicism is by far the largest (outnumbering all others combined I think) of the Christian churches.

I did not do a count but here are some figures http://www.adherents.com/adh_rb.html

I see heaven as more of a spiritual happiness. A completeness and fullness.

But in general this argument you're trying to start is completely stupid and useless because nobody can definitely say what heaven is like. I imagine that if someone could visit heaven and come back to describe it, they wouldn't know how, its is as whoever put it 'a totally difference plane of exsistance'.

Trying to imagine what heaven is like, is like trying to imagine how big infinity is. Which is impossible. It's really not within the human capacity to fathom either the size of the universe or heaven. The words which describe it in the bible and that of traditional Christian beliefs as to what heaven is, are both human. They are human words, and language is very limiting.

I don't think any words in any language could describe heaven as it really is. It's best to say its unimaginable, but is in the end preferable to hell.

JW is that the only hole in my arguement you can find..because that is a pretty desperate attempt at trying to make me look wrong.

I was also baptised catholic and went to a catholic school. It was drilled into our heads that heaven is eternal life and eternal happiness. Which not to mention I know a lot of other chritian faiths teach that as well since I have talk to many people of different faiths and been to many different churches. Seems to be the one thing they can agree on except christ died and was resurrected.

Like I said if you have no emotions then who are you? Your emotions are what make who you are. If there was none you would be dull and boaring. Not wanting to do a thing in the world. You would just exist.

If we had just one emotion then we wouldn't be where we are today.

Another hole in heaven is lets say you do have eternal life and have emotions and lets say I'm wrong about eternal happiness. If you have eternal life you could learn everything there is to learn and do everything there is to do. Then once everything is done...what do you do then?

L&H and everyone else please do look for a video of the colbert report where Deepak Chopra is a guest and the date that is 12-19-06.

VD I don't know it seems to me chriistians and other faiths have no problem putting it into language and nor does the authors of the Bible.

I'm not even going to bother anymore Ath, you're not even worthy of insults anymore :(, I respect someone having an opinion, but you believe that you and you alone are in the right here. You constantly attack religion and are very gungho about making us "see the falsities" in them. We do no such thing to you, I could care less that you are an atheist, as stupid as I believe atheism is, you still have that right to believe in it. I don't pull up fictional numbers or statistics or write posts that are half-assed about how this world is becoming based around atheism and scientology more and more every year or even how I believe Atheism is a stupid sport for mindless teenagers trying to rebel; no, my dear ath, I do none of these things, which is why I could really be bothered less by your idiotic statements. When I question your posts I'm not saying you're wrong or right, I'm asking you to prove your point. You repeat the same half-assed theories that I'm sure you've mooncalfed off of someone who is obviously more brilliant than you or I, or anyone here. I do admire many philosophers because they have wonderful ideas and morals, but I do not admire mindless twats following a fruitless religion based on divine rebellion. To me you are no more than a pawn thinking he's the king of his board, which in reality you are that..a pawn..an expendable piece in a trashy puzzle.
I have tolerance for stupidity Ath, but you my dear, have definitely pushed me to my bounds and over the point of caring falling to the valley of indifference. You can live in your false fantasies that there is no creator, only the created; that there is no God, but yet only a belief and faith in Him; that millions of people are bounded from thought in a religion more beautiful and sound than any other; yes ath, that even we, Christians, forbade you from ever having a thought outside of your mooncalfings. Embrace your stupidity Ath, because as they say, ignorance is bliss.

So you attack my intelligence while yet you still have yet to put up a decent arguement againest my statement. How very disapointed I am of you JW.

I am also not to pleased on your phrase ignorance is bliss to describe me. I am anything but ignorant on the topic of religion and our existence. While christians are only christians because they dare not challenged what they have been taught as children. How very hyocritical of you JW. I'd expect more.

I am still awaiting a arguement gentlemen and not of my intelligence but of my statement. Since JW can't seem come up with any rational or logical response to my post.

Presumably after some time in heaven you would have the option of returning to the chamber of guf and having another life. That and there would at least be some possiblity of a rebelion breaking out in heaven, after all there have been two so far. Plus I am hoping to be one of the small group of good people who is left behind after judgement day who can still go to heaven but have a chance to fight in the last war.

Regardless that is a pretty silly statement, you can't do everything, and even if you do, which you can't, do you never do things twice? Or three times?

Some folktale I heard as a little boy....

"A man who spent his entire life helping people lies on his deathbed. The Angel of Death is trying to persuade him to go to the Netherworld, while a Good Angel is trying to persuade him to go to heaven.

The Good Angel says "You deserve to go to Heaven. You served God all your life and you helped everybody you met".

The man asks: "But what's Heaven like?"

The Angel replies: "Heaven is a state of bliss where the righteous get close to God. In Heaven, everybody is content and happy; a crown on every head!"

The man asks another question: "But I spent my whole life helping people. Will there be anyone to help in Heaven?"

The Angel answers: "No, because everybody is content and close to God what help could they need?"

The man then asks the Angel of Death: "What is Hell like? Will I be able to help people in Hell?"

The Angel of Death answers: "No, because the evil are eternally damned. But you can suffer with them".

The man finally says that he wants to go to Hell upon deciding that his life's purpose was in a world full of evil than a world full of good.

The End.

Ath's right, you know....

Personally, when I think of a hellish existence my first thought is an existence in which I, and everyone else is euphoric.

...if you can't pick up the clear sarcasm intended in that, your parents shouldn't let you on the internet.
