| Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums! Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register. Join our Community Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system. I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way. Getting Started If you're already a member please log in to your account to access all of our features. |

What is NeoCon. I have the Wiki on it but I was wondering what people here think it means. Does anyboby here consider themselves a NeoCon? No insults please just trying to tie down the meaning of (IMO much misquoted) word. |

They're US imperialists. Basically. That's what I understand by the term anyway. They've lost touch of proper conservative values such as small government and morals and instead pursue militaristic goals which unilaterally benefit the US government and nobody else. They think they have the right to invade and kill others because it makes them feel big. It's what most of them were becoming in the Elite Conservative Circuit and that's why I left. To be honest I don't class them as conservatives. I'll have nothing to do with them. They tend to divert money away from decent things to fund the military in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thankfully though, it's been contained to US primarily. |

From what I understand of the ideology its basically an internationally proactive Tory. The ideology has however been widely disgraced by good ol' President Nixon and Bush. Mostly Neocon's are characterised by wars unfortunatly. Iraq is an example of the neocon ideology in action IMO. Going to war with Iraq was (apparently) a preemptive strike to stop any future nuclear danager. War isn;t the only aspect however. Agresssive negatations also come into it. An examples include actions against Iran/Korea to stop them becoming a future nuclear danger. Internal affairs are generally similar to other conservatives but obviously a large military is required. Fortunatly for us liberal types people like George Bush are the most high profile neocons and Iraq is the big example of recent Neocon activities so people outside america generally get the impression Neocon is not the way to go. |

You're both a little off, but it would be quite a post to discuss now. You might want to look at Fukuyama's new book, "America at the Crossroads," in which he discusses the evolution of the movement and explains his own break with neoconservatism. |

I'm not sure about America. In Japan, a neocon is often someone who supports the old Imperial Japan and feels that the country is now worse of and people have become much more selfish because they have forgotten about traditional values. |
