Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

At my school they allow the same lessons for double and tripple and even single science. Do they offer GNVQ science at your school? 4 GCSEs for whats basically double science, not Fair!

What? I only get two GCSEs for science. Triple get 3 and they have 4 more lessons per week than me for it. But I use them four lessons on another, non-science subject. And everyone, in total does ten, except the top group of maths who do an extra thing in additional maths as well. But the less intelligent sets don't do that.

And they don't offer anything but GCSEs, and the sixth form doesn't offer anything but A-levels.

GNVQ science is a GCSE science that gives 4 GCSEs.

At my school different people do different amounts of GCSEs I only got 10 but about half my year got 11 or more (with tripple science and another double award)

Surely GNVQ science gives GNVQs. Which are made out to be the equivalent of GCSEs, but when seen on a CV, GNVQs are seen as Generaly Not Very Qualified.

I say bring back O-levels. Because only about 2% of people would pass them nowadays. Now that'd sort the men from the boys so to speak.

IMO education is rather a joke now. all you need to pass subjects with high grades is too repeat whatever mindless dribble you read in a text book word for word.

and the grade boundaries are shocking. You only need about 15% to pass now in some subjects.

The only subjects that i think are vaguely worth exams in are the heavy writing subjects because they give lots of marks for quality of written communication. Everything else is just regurgitation of text book phrases.

I'm currently doing english lan-lit at A-level and its so pointless. One of my friends is quite literally the most talented writter I have ever meet. Anything he writes is frankly awesome and he is getting a C. I have done sod all and I;m getting a B and some people who done nothing but shove as many buzz words together (as they themselves admit) are getting to the top of the A margin.

Yeah, I enjoy history most because you have to think for yourself (on the source questions at least, not so much the essay questions). But some things, like english, you can get very close to full marks.

Last year in the practice paper I had a question on "Journey's End" and I just listened to people in class and I got 93% which was the highest mark. I didn't practice any questions, I just went through the book in chronological order and for every page or two basically quoted what someone else had said in the class discussion.

I wrote one of the answers in my english exam IN RYHME and only got a C. We had to describe a shopping centre at night and I wrote the whole thing in poem format. I only got a C, unbe-fucking-leivable

I've had that question for a GCSE english language paper. I wrote about it using water as a medium for uncertainty (rain, water features that stuff) and related the shopping center to the sea alot. I got an A so can't complain but the best way of answer the question is to stick to the bog standard; "I heard, I felt, I saw, I smelt," repeat over and over with lots of big shiney words thrown in for good measure.
