Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Robert Fisk: The whole bloody thing was obscene

The lynching of Saddam Hussein - for that is what we are talking about - will turn out to be one of the determining moments in the whole shameful crusade upon which the West embarked in March of 2003.

First off I think we should reinstated him since things seem to be running pretty good in Iraq compared to now.

Secondly, since I had realized there was no realistic way of that happening I was for keeping him locked up for the rest of his life. So the whole lynching thing I wasn't cool with in the first place.

Now the lynching was a total quagmire just like something else. We went into Iraq for this whole reason now it has been messed up by incompetent and imoral government and I'm not talking about the Iraqies.

How do you possiblly foul this up? All you got to do is kill him like any other american prisioner. I just don't get it.

I wish it were a joke. You must admit the civilians casultiy rate while under saddam then the number of killed since America has come on to the stage.

Thats the sad and pathetic truth.

Ahem:

Saddam: between 500,000 and 1,000,000 Iraqis killed (includes Kurds)*

U.S. Occupation: about 100,000 killed directly or indirectly (includes Kurds)

*This does not include casulaties in the Iran-Iraq war, which is about one million I think.

PI, the 100,000 was recorded sometime in 2005. It is probably alot higher now.

But I think it would have been a horrible mistake to put Saddam back in power. Yeah, Iraq was better off as a nation under Saddam, which is important, but the opression of different ethnic groups, curtailing free speech, nepotism, and militarism were at horrible levels under Saddam.

And one wonders if the country we call "Iraq" should ever have existed at all.

I doubt it's shot up by 1.9 million though....

I agree, but it probably shot up alot.

And remember, this is 20 years of killing under Saddam, but only 4 years of slaughter under the occupation and the "New Iraqi Government".

We're catching up...

Give Kurdistan to Turkey, the Shi'ite parts to Iran, the Sunni parts to Jordan. Kill everyone else.

Problem solved.

It doesn't matter about the rate really, until we have killed more people than Saddam in total, he is still worse.

Besides, most of the people listed there weren't actually killed by the invading forces, they were killed by other Iraqis. Granted it probably wouldn't have happened under Saddam, but they still have the choice not to kill each other, it's just because US troops are there that they decide to, but it's still not the US soldiers nor is it the US's fault that they are killing each other. The blame has to lie on the people that commit the bombings, kidnappings etc. and that's the terrorists.

Now why would we give anything to states that want to make a nuke to "wipe Israel off the map"?

I was actually insulting people who use such language in that post, not you.

Anyway, the only reason I like Israel is because it contains the holy city of Jerusalem and I wouln't want it to be under the control of a non-liberal country. It's sad that it's under Israel's control, but at least Israel is officially secular, I wouldn't want it to be under one of the hardcore conservative Islamic countries where you get lynched for not being Muslim.
