Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Defiant Tsvangirai to 'fight on

Quote:

Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai has pledged to continue his "struggle" after he and other activists were beaten while in police custody

This just makes me sick

Mugabe has joined the long list of dictator (inc, the European ones) that have raped this Continent of its potential.

The interesting thing is that the courts didn't work with the police. The courts did the correct thing but the police didn't care.

Zimbabwe, one of the few countries where a bit of old colonialism might serve to better the situation.

Actually the "Old Colonialism" could be construed as the root cause.

Nope, that colonialism was forced to prematurely end was the cause. As with many African countries, had there been an extended withdrawl plan like the Yanks had in the Philippines, things might have turned out a lot better.

Zimbabwe and only Zimbabwe can change Zimbabwe for the better. Other people in the region can certainly help and even those outside the region can assist but the change has to come from Zimbabwe.

That is simply incorrect. African countries just needed to go through the same process we ourself took to reach democracy. It's not pretty and not easy but it is the best way. Africa must look after Africa. "We" are not capable of doing it nor are we wanted to...

Not really... That was going from a rich altrustic (more so than most) nation to a Nazi imperalist nation. Zimbabwe is a poor nation that has never been a real democracy. It is walking the slow and difficult path to be really free of the evil former British regime.
You fuck about with a country that's nothing to do with you and guess what? You fuck it up. Zimbabwe needs to go through the same process as Tazania has gone through.

Tanzania is much different to Zimbabwe though. Tanzania was allways ruled through tribal cheifs and local rulers, even it's legislature had black Africans in. On the other hand Zimbabwe was ruled by a racist white regime well after the British left and this did not allow blacks into the legislature, nor into the civil service. Which of course meant, upon the overthrowing of the whites and forcing many out of the country, all of a sudden there were a lot of jobs open that needed people with experiance to fill them, however, no Blkack Zimbabweans had been trained to do these jobs (unlike in Tanzania) and combined with the fact that old Rob is an utter barbarian, meant that the country went to shit.

Tanzania has always been a left-wing. The Current Tanzanian leaders are a complete and collective let down however... Compare them and their actions to that of previous Tanzanian leaders.

^doesn't look like a resolution is coming any time soon sadly.

I'm not stupid, I'm definitely not little and I'm not a hitler-wannabe.

I just think that if you're going to take away people's freedoms, as both parties involved do, then at least be open about it.
