Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

While I'm not a great fan of Mr. George Galloway he was entirely correct in his opinion of the Iraqi Wars and period between.

While browsing YouTube (and I love YouTube B) ) I came across the entire testimony he gave to the US Senate Committee.

Man he wiped the floor with them and was it gratifying to see :P

Check it out (warning its 48 mins long) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj0m0dSUPR8

P.I. explain why you think anyone that cares about the well-being of anyone other then themselves is automatically a socialist.

Oh please. Socialists are often unskilled, lazy slobs who would be better off having the government provide everything for them. Hence they are the ones looking out for themselves.

I also wouldn't say George Galloway was one of the most selfless people ever to exist. He's only against the Iraq war so he could return to the House of Commons.

I'm against it because it wastes tax money and would like to see it returned to taxpayers. He would want it going to fat, lazy, drug addict slobs.

I would maintain he would of been returned easily as a Labour MP if he kept his mouth shut and supported the slaughter!

My after listening the (presumably) committee leader talking for 5 minutes I can see why America is so apathetic about elections.

So those thousands of children that died according to Galloway as a result of the Oil for Food program and other sanctions....are the lazy fat slobs that taxpayers are supposed to support. Even though nowhere in his argument from that video [which I'm assuming you didn't really watch even halfway through] does British or American taxpayer money go to supporting these fat lazy slobs [who would be the Iraqi children]. It seems you cannot look further than what is in front of you, you always look and form opinions from your own closed environment, but cannot open your mind to see the bigger picture, to see beyond the UK.

Nobody is selfless...everyone is selfish to a degree. Anyone who says otherwise is a fucking naive moron. But isn't it a good trait in ones personality to want to help others, to help those who need it. (operative word here is "need")

I agree with you to a degree that there are too many fat lazy slobs who live off welfare and have no ambition to live of their own work. But there are people who really do need help.

What do you do for a family the lives in a country where there are no jobs, where there is very little food, where there is no education, where this hardly any clean water. Are those people lazy fat slobs that don't need help.

I personally have a distrust of people who receive welfare unless I know that they are earnestly working to live of their own income and pay back the country. Those people I don't have a problem with because anyone can fall into financial trouble from time to time and sometimes its good to know that when you do get into such trouble that there is hope of getting back up.

But I know of people who live of welfare and have no thought of improving their lifestyle, only complaining about problems and asking for more money. I live in a small townhouse complex of about 10 houses with a government housing residence of about 50 houses behind the townhouses. Their residents are mostly black and although I don't know of all of them I know of one instance of a woman that lives there who moved in with one child [no husband] and lives of welfare. She doesn't work she doesn't do anything. Instead of trying to get a job and improve her own life and the life of her child, she fucks some guy, get pregnant and has yet another child, the father is of course not involved..hes just some random guy. The only support people on welfare need is a monthly delivery of contraceptives.

That disgusts me because my parents work very hard and when we came to this country we came as refugee's not immigrants and we literally had nothing but some clothes we brought with us. In ten years we've gone from poverty to middle-class. We lived in several apartments in bad neighborhoods, in an old condo, and now we live in a fairly new townhouse.

When we moved to our first apartment even though it was illegal my father worked for contractors doing menial labor so that we could afford a better life. While both my parents went to school to learn English. Within two years we had a used car, when we were off welfare my father started working at his real job in engineering through some short contracts. Then schooled himself in order to get a permanent job.

It does make me sick that in these 10 years, after surviving a war and escaping poverty my family has achieved so much. Yet people born in this country, born to peace to free educations, to political stability to the land of opportunity. Still live to this very day on welfare.

I believe this is similar to what you feel about welfare and people that live off of it. But P.I. there are people that do need the help. Maybe not in our own countries, but there are countries where there is no hope, no opportunity no matter if you are a genius, a hard-worker, or have any great human quality. No matter what you do you cannot rise above your lifestyle. Why is helping those people so wrong in your eyes? When I say helping them I don't mean giving them money and letting them run free to do what they will with it, or sending them regular allotments of food and water. But helping them by giving them the tools to help themselves.

Paying for the digging of wells and purification systems for clean drinking water. Teaching them modern agricultural methods and providing seeds for growing their own crops. Building homes made of brick, with roofs. Providing elementary education, giving them hope with a realistic and achievable goal to improve their lives.

Believe me if you help people like that, they will work for a better life because all they've known before that is poverty.
