Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

I was looking for those lame American cold war propaganda films for a class I have and came upon this now famous video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UVH8YRXsqo...related&search=

Yes newspapers, are officially effective shields against an Atomic flash...

We didn't do duck and cover in Britain. They knew there were allways some Chavs or Pikeys that would steal the nuke before it landed and take it joyriding.

ANyway the point of these videos was not really to give guides to people on how to survive an attmoic blast. Though some of the advice is sound, if you were in an area where a newspaper of cloth could defend you from an atomic flash, it wouldn't be strong enough to give you anything worse than a mild burn.

Anyway, the point was to make people feel safe and make people feel that they are doing something. It is the same as in the war when they told people that saving half a tin of ccooking grease a week and handing it to the authorities meant it could be used to create bombs. Of course it couldn't but it made people feel they were helping and so it increased public moral.

I do realize this...I just find it halirous. It first and foremost propaganda made to assure people and lessen panic.
