Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

...on gun control should not use the Virginia Tech shootings as a platform to launch their policies on America, especially if they're not American.

Problem is they wouldn't be there any more. They could stick a bill through the commons, and reason that it does not need to be ratified by the Lords or the Queen because it abolishes them. If the Lords protest, they are arrested by the police (who are loyal to Blair), similarly the Queen and opposition.

The only people around that could and would do anything about it would be the army.

 What a dumbass!

And who, prey tell, is investigating Blair and Co. for "Cash for Peerage"

Regardless of whether you are for or against gun control.

People who are FOR gun control should have no right to complain about what happend at the Univirsity. They also should have no right to blame it on anything else.

Now I'm not saying that the reason people like that guy exist is because gun laws are so lax. There are a lot of things that are responsible for creating the kind of mindset it takes for someone to shoot up a school. Although some gun control, at least for young people, would've prevented something like this.

What I am saying is that often the same people who protect the amendment that allows them to have guns, are the same people that scapegoat anything from Rock and rap music, video games, movies, and marijuana as the source of the problem.

Those same people are also ignorant enough to think that:

A.) If they find who's fault it is, that they will magically solve the problem.

and

B.) That the world is black and white and that there is one huge source of everyone's problems and if it could be eliminated we'd all be living in heaven.

So while gun laws need to be a bit more strict as to whom they are available too...it would be nice...but very impossible to ban guns outright or have extreme restrictions in America.

So the whole world can whine and moan but America wouldn't be America if they didn't have access to guns...which although they rarely need them for protection...they often use them unnecessarily.

I just feel sorry for students in high schools [and now colleges, but mainly high schools], because their schools are getting turned into prisons with every new incident. Even here our Zero Tolerance policy is ridiculous and creates more criminals then ever before.

And who is A) taking a long time about it and B) attempting to avoid talking to blair himself...

A) Is it not important to get it right (also has broadened to attempted concealment)

&

B) already had I thought.

My point was, however, to show how silly Dups views are.

The investigation is taking place against total opposition of Blair

I was using Blair as an example of a hypothetical situation as he is the current PM. If he ordered them not to investigate, I am fairly sure they would stop.

And I am fairly sure they would not and in fact if he tried it would lead to him having to resign in disgrace.

Well you'd think so... Even if he didn't bother making that request you'd think...

A couple years before columbine there was a shooting in Alberta I think. This year there was a shooting at Dawson College [not high school] in Montreal.

But gun crime is very low. Plus the shooter was thankfully a moron and although he shot tons and tons of bullets I think he only killed one person and injured several people.

There were 3 stabbings at my junior high school one which I sort of saw. That last one the girl that did it was heavily ridiculed all year long and there was always a gang of girls hounding her. She snapped one day at rehearsal at this girl who wasn't even part of that gang. She started beating her then the teacher stepped in, calmed her down then she spit in his face. Eventually she was dragged to the office..still in a blind rage.

[I saw the fight and spitting and dragging part but not the office.]

In the office she seemed to calm down a little bit as the principal was talking to her, the principal went to get her a glass of water and as she came back and turned her back to the girl for a second [to get behind her desk] the girl stabbed her in the back with a letter opener. It was on the news. I felt sorry for the girl, she had gotten kicked out of one other school before and somehow those girls found out why. Plus this girl was overweight, she tried really hard to be a normal student but that gang of girls would not let up and they ridiculed her for many months before this happend.

I don't know what the sentence was....I'll try and find out, I'm curious about that and I have access to huge databases.

and I'm not using this as a platform to support guns, I'm just saying if one of the students had a concealed weapon on them, this may have ended up a whole lot better.

as much as i hate to agree with my wanker of a Prime Minister i must agree

In good old Aus we have zero "gun culture." It simply doesn't exist (apart from the hill billy's who enjoy shooting wallabies in the middle of drought-stricken nowhere)

What is the purpose of a gun? To kill. If you own a gun, you have the ability to kill someone. How bloody easy is it to take away that ability? As has been brought up a knife can stab too, but how effective is that compared to a gun?

We don't have a gun culture here, i believe in Australia if guns were legalised tomorrow it would take years and years for this "gun culture" to arise.

Knives are pretty effective weapons, they can easily cause as much damage as a pistol round and can be repeatedly used at almost no cost.
