Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Do you not think its time the UK changed it's election system?

I mean I can see why the Americans have a FPTP system as it's based on the idea that the masses cannot be trusted but as long we're pretending to be democratic we should introduce an AV system! Everyone knows it would be better and more democratic and the only reason we don;t have an PR system now is because it in everyone's interests except he/she who delievers. For YEARS labour raved about it then suddenly then win under FPTP and suddenly forget about PR!

After the next election if a coalition is forced the AV may be the way for Britian from there on out!

They could spend it one any number of things to help the city, but no, they spent it on a statue in front of the council offices which was 1) crap and 2) promptly vandalised and graffitied, which caused even more money to be spend on cleaning it. The council didn't have the foresight to realise that this would keep happening and that it would become a unworthwile money pit. That's why I don't actually want them to have any power, because they're a bunch of twats.

Lets imagine they spent all the money on cleaning... Next election "MOST UNEFFICENT COUNCIL IN THE UK" is their rewards. Spending all money on mudane stuff... How dare they! They have to make it look like they are doing something more else they will not be reelected.

Problem is, so many councils are hung now, that it is rarely in anybodies interest to say the bad things about the council.

And when somethign goes wrong the leaders say it was the minorities watering down their policies and the minorites say it was the coalition leaders poor policy making.

And it's hard to hold them to account over anything because they rarely have to do anything that anyone cares baout any more...

Yes. Except in Scotland where I believe they elect one to the Scottish Parliament as well.

Scotland is also divided up into constiuencies (similar to those used for Westminster) and the FPTP system is used (like in Westminster). However, there is more, after that Scotland is split into regions (7 i think, not sure) and a PR system is used. I think 7 MSPs can be put into Holyrood from each region. The whole thing is called the Additional Member System.

no, i mean an elected head of state, separation of powers but all branches working together and lots of rights for individual states as opposed to a large federal government. it allows customised solutions.

well england's only a small country, far too small for my liking. Some states are several times bigger than the UK.

as I said, it's all customised solutions.

it's only been corrupted. it wasn't corrupt to start with. and how you can say Britain isn't corrupted when it has an unelected head of state. I don't even recognise the wueen's right to rule over me. I definitely do not sing the national anthem. ever.

What? The British system is of course corrupt. Because it's a hard won kind of democracy that began life as a totalitarian dictatship and passed through the realms of oligarchy. The American system looks as though it was designed to be corrupt.
