So, did anyone finish this tome? I have a recommendation for the next book: All the Kings Men by Robert Penn Warren. I'm assuming that most of the Brits have not read this book. Warren was the poet laureate of the US, named by JFK. The book itself is a not-so-velied recounting of the life of Huey Long, a southern (Alabama) politician in the 30's, who might have become President. It is said that Huey was the only politician that caused FDR to worry. Old Z could get the book on tape. Don't watch the most recent movie - it was abysmal |
