Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

Uropa...I'll say this much:

If you aims are to legitimately establish an institution, representative of the people, to ensure that the private intel threads are being appropriately carried out (within the confines of the law and in the spirit of protecting the region and not "head hunting"), yet allowing those threads to remain private to the extent that it is necessary for both internal and external intelligence to be carried out successfully, then I am inclined to agree with you.

However, whether it is fair or not, your recent rallying against the individuals that comprise that department and your support of releasing a great deal of the content of those threads public knowledge (automatically or through specific circumstances), makes it very difficult to support you in any way.

There's honesty for you. For better or for worse.

then surely a democratic oversight is the perfect compromise?

seriously, the more guilty the system, the blinder it becomes to innocents. i find it frankly amazing that sedge has unilaterally decided that jivdom and BW are unfit to be oversights. it’s shit like this that makes me go after particular ‘heads’, because this is complete bollocks. and if you do agree with me in the first instance, then maybe you should put aside your personal inhibitions against me, and support them, because jivdom nor BW are not beholden to anybody, especially me, nor you, nor sedge, nor Old.Z, nor whoever. that’s what makes them good candidates and makes me suspect sedge’s motives for trying to veto them.

I won't go as far as saying the Sedge not wanting any sort of oversight makes me suspicious of him, as an individual.

And I do agree that some form of oversight is necessary, and that that oversight ought to be determined by the citizenry (not necessarily meaning an elected oversight official, but meaning that whatever process we decide on is agreed upon in the PA, and not dictated to us by an admin). But again, you're a difficult character to crawl into bed with.

(I have, btw, voted against the current Intel measures in the PA).

and like i said, don't crawl into bed with me, crawl into bed with the person you think best suited to be oversight...

But security should trample liberty sometimes to protect the masses, i betcha if the US had trampled liberty in favor of security, 9/11 would never had happened.
you're the reason i left the liberal party.
PI i did'nt meant trample liberty all the time, i meant if there is an certifiable danger that is endangering the region then we should over look rights sometmes.

But my point is that Jiv ISNT independent. He may have left a party, but he's still as biased as anyone else.
Yes, he may and is probably biased as everyone. Please point to me a person that isn't biased

Thats kind of our point... because of that, there's no ideal candidate for an oversight position.

What about Dup. He doesn't give a shit anything.

And L+H. Even I'm willing to admit that he'd do a good job at it.

Then why have some of you posted candidates?

The problem with both those suggestions, Dup and L&H, is that they can often be absent for long stretches (Dup gets posted overseas for example). The problem is it's basically impossible to find someone who is active and aware of regional goings on but isn't involved in any political things or known to have any strong bias.
