Welcome to the Global Right Alliance's forums!

Firstly, you can only see a very limited amount of the forums at the moment. You will be able to see the full forums and properly participate in our region and its community when you register.

Join our Community

Now, on to the region itself. Don't let the name, specifically the "Right", fool you. We've got members from across the political spectrum, and our political parties have always reflected this. The Global Right Alliance (GRA), as primarily a gameplay region, has been everything from an anarchy to a monarchy to a homegrown rotatorship. The region has had such governments because of its culture, which adores political intrigue and thrives on confrontation. With the increase of the region's population, many veterans have returned. It is the beginning of a new Global Right Alliance and a new government system.

I know the forums can be quite intimidating; there's people who have been here for nearly a decade and have over 10,000 posts. However, we welcome new members and encourage them to get involved. If you want help finding your way around, we have resources to help you to get on your way.

News
In the news this week, Equilism was the featured region in NationStates for the first time! Also, Biyah is restarting Gateway Radio in its new home in Equilism. In less fortunate news, Equilism says goodbye to two nations from friendly regions: Sedge, a fellow defender, and Finavarra from our friends over at the Liberty Alliance. We wish you two success in your future endeavors and if you do end up coming back to NS, be sure to come over to Equilism instead.

In the Government
Equilism elected it's new first minister late last week! We welcome Kubrikistan into his first term as First Minister. Kubrikistan appointed his new cabinet several days later. His new appointments were: Phendarrah, Domestic Affairs; Millitarism, Foreign Affairs; Hitchcalm, Immigration. Whamabama kept his position as Military Affairs Minister. Also due to the start of the new First Minister's term, the constitutional review that begins after each election cycle has started.
The Assembly has been dicussing some rather polarizing issues lately, which means drama and chaos! Well, kind of... Okay, fine, no chaos, maybe a little drama, but mainly civilized debate. Anyway, the first issue that raised a bit of contention was the Third Wall Block treaty, which was hotly debated when it first came around. While many members supported the idea, they were concerned by several parts within the treaty. The same issues came about this time around. The other issue is judicial reform. Most members of the Assembly support some form of judicial expansion, considering the activity on the forums at the moment, but there is a lot of debate about nearly every aspect of the proposed reform.

World Assembly Results

This month, Equilism voted on the following resolutions:
(votes for, votes against, votes to abstain)
•Repeal "Clean Water Act": for (7-0-1)
•Fairness in Currency Exchange: against (0-4-1)
•Repeal "Condemn NAZI EUROPE": for (4-1-1)
•Rights of the Orphaned Child: against (1-3-1)
•Commend Sionis Prioratus: against (according to the 3WB)
•For the Wrongly Convicted: against (0-2-0)
•Clean Water Act: Delegate missed the vote (0-4-0 against)
•Assistance Givers Protection: against (2-3-0)
•Preparing for Disasters: against (tiebreaker; 3-3-0)
•Condemn Unknown: against (according to the 3WB)

Domestic Affairs
Domestic Affairs has been a little quiet, but one of the goals of First Minister Kubrikistan was to revitalize the Main Street area of the forum and for the Ministeries of Foreign and Domestic affairs to work on an international event, both of which are currently being addressed by the new Minister of Domestic Affairs, Phendarrah. Expect invitations! And back on NationStates.net, the Regional Message Board has had no talk of corruption whatsoever, according to our somewhat essentially un-corrupt former First Minister The Monkye. He goes on to say that the proof is in that plain bag over there with some money in it.

Games and Fun
The Guys Versus Gals thread has been somewhat popular, with the guys slowly but surely making their way towards victory. "Who Will Post Next" continue to be popular as well, and now has over 16,100 total posts. There is also a virtual cooking competition going on, which has very tantalizing pictures of delicious looking food.

Role Playing
In role playing, the E-Bar has had a pun and poetry outbreak of epic proportions. The authorities have been seen with a Haz-Mat team trying to contain the outbreak from spreading to other parts of the forum. Also, a new Parliamentary RP is being created, which should bring the excitment of bureaucracy to the RP forums!

Immigration
In immigration, Astarial still promises cookies for good recruiters. If that wasn't enough, the Immigration Minister, Hitchcalm, has introduced a new game: The Cabinet member who recruits the least in the week loses a life (not literally), and after three lives (again, not literally), that minister gets an unflattering title on the forums. Foreign Affairs Minister Millitarism would be very happy to see Hitchcalm getting the first title.

Foreign Affairs
The new Minister, like every single one before him, has promised consistant weekly updates. In order to make this happen, he has started working on splitting up the duties, so when he doesn't get bogged down in work and so, if he isn't available, there won't be much for everyone else to do. The Ministry has also been working on cleaning up the forum and updating some official documents that had been out of date for a while.

E-Army
The E-Army has been basking in the sun over the summer, while the quality of raiders attacks has dramatically deteriorated. Naturally, this means there hasn't been a ton of missions for them to attend. And during the brief WA delegate switch to Shoeless Joe in The North Pacific, Equilism choose to stay neutral.

Minister of Military Affairs, Commander Whamabama announced two promotions, "I hereby promote The Merlion, and Westwind to E-Army Commanders. It has been along time coming, and both are deserving of this position, and honor."

Commander Westwind joined TITO forces in the liberation of the historic founderless defender region Urbanites this week. After a RMB debate with an invader apologist, Westwind stated that "...there is no way to excuse the actions that violated the sovereignty of Urbanites. Bless TITO and all who helped liberate the region.'"

The Equilism Intelligence Agency is currently reviewing it's status and preparing to expand operations. Recent intelligence indicates an increase in NS wide threat activity in the next quarter.

Quote of the Week:

Quote:

"... but if I had to order a drink in writing it would take 3 pages."

Chaucerin explaining why his draft of a proposed bill was so long.

And one final note: I would like to extend a special thanks to everyone who helped to write this.
