![]() The Split Rose Description Maester Isinglass shuffled his legs beneath his grand embroidered robe. He wasn’t a young man anymore; time had withered his body, but not his mind. First, he had searched the alehouse looking for his lord. However Lord Jon was not to be found there, which he considered quite unusual. He set off to the next location; he would check the training grounds and if Jon was not there he would check the Sept. ”Hello Maester Isinglass, how do you fare this evening” Said Tom when the maester arrived at the training ground. Tom Cerwyn, was the Master At Arms of the castle. He fought with a bastard sword in each hand which was self styled and had just finished a sparring session with one of the lords most trusted sworn swords, Ser Marillion Caron. In a hurried spurt came the question ”I’m looking for our good Lord Jon, have you seen him.” “Have you looked for him in the alehouse?” suggested Tom. Isinglass grinned, “I have just come from there, thank you Ser Cerwyn” He nodded to Ser Marillion Caron and continued on the path to the sept. If he could not find The Devout Lord at the sept, he would go to his chambers and await him there. The news was to be delivered and answered immediately lest offense be given by late reply. The maester knew Jon very well and the opportunity to go and investigate a certain individual at Rosby would not be passed. Lord Jon would want to know immediately. He pushed on to the sept and was rewarded when he saw Lord Jon leaving the sept. *** They sat in Jon’s antechamber discussing the invitation brought by raven. It was Lord Jon, Ser Marillion Caron, The Master At Arms Ser Tomas Cerwyn and Maester Isinglass. ” We should not squander this opportunity, should I say this excuse to visit Rosby and question the Maester Melwys. He knows about The Order Lord Jon. For your sister we must-” Jon Interrupted the Maester, he was clearly annoyed and spoke in a harsher tone than intended Maester Isinglass, I don’t need you to remind me of my sister!”spat Jon. The Master At Arms Thomas Cerwyn remained quiet clearly wishing to avoid the touchy subject and then finally after a silence Ser Marillion Caron spoke. He had a velvet tone to his voice and the confidence to warm affection. ”Jon, ya know I will fight for you. I agree with Isinglass, lets use this invitation as a pretense to have a discussion with the maester at Rosby.” He was looking Lord Jon in the eyes, trying to feign not being interested in the chance to try fresh girls in this new brothel. He didn’t understand Jon’s hesitation at Rosby, but that was soon to be made clear. Lord Jon said” Those of you here, sitting in this room with me right now are not the only ones that know of my plight to avenge my family. The Citadel has grown tired of my meddling in their affairs and has reached out to King Tommen. The king has decreed that if I’m involved in the intimidation or harassment of any member of the citadel, I’m to be arrested and possibly striped of my lands and titles after trial. This tells me, I won’t need to be found guilty, the threat is clear. Isinglass sounded defeated, “Times are troubled my lord, the king, or at least his advisors do not wish to make more problems than there are already” The Master At Arms finally spoke” mi’lord you need not be involved in the questioning of the maester. Take your squire Robert Storm with you to tour the brothel, have Marillion follow behind you. When he arrives, he stumbles into the Horse Head inn and complains of an illness, he will demand a maester and as a knight I don’t see why they would refuse him.” And so the plan was set. |

"How odd." Ted was staring at a piece of paper. "What do you mean brother?" Elizabeth had noticed that Ted was being awfully silent today as he would look at a piece of paper hourly. She knew he wouldn't answer, he never answers without the entire family present at the table, unless there was reason to keep secrets within the family. Rarely did Ted feel the need to separate his idea's from his siblings ears. However Ted looked right Elizabeth today. He slowly began to open his mouth, but he heard his brothers coming up. He nodded, giving her the message they will talk later on the subject. She was quite nervous about the whole situation. "Brother." Two men dressed in fine quality clothing said in unison both of them centered their attention on Ted. "Brothers, and Sister," Ted began as his brothers, Finnick and Higor sat down. "I got a invitation to go to a brothel in the crownlands. This has nothing to do with any of you so you shall not be coming with me, business as usual, of course. However I will be visiting up to the gathering due to the invitation that was directly sent to me. To deny would be rude, especially when a deal can be brokered that could perhaps benefit us in time. Therefore everyone will be doing business as usual, Finnick will run the household itself, along with his brothels. Elizabeth you shall travel with me this time, as you are now of age for these types of gatherings. Therefore Higor and Finnick everything is now on you to keep everything going for the next week or more as I am away. Accepted?" His brothers nodded, "therefore as father would say. 'it shall be done'." The brothers left leaving behind Elizabeth. She spoke up, "why must I travel?" "You travel with me because this I will need you, I could be leaving you behind, but you will be fine. We all must help the family name somehow, and if we are to gain prestige we may need to smash some vases. You are the hammer this time, your brothers have all done things they wish they hadn't, I did things to protect this family name." "Why me? Why not one of the women we already trade?" Elizabeth protested. "I trust you, and you have not lay with a man before, this is important for the transaction that I am hoping to make. If you are hurt you merely send me a letter, and my armies shall arrive by sun rise of the next day, I have allies in that region. I will staying there for a time. If you are hurt, my poor little sister who got left behind tragically and then kidnapped, we can ruin them and take over their estate by force without anyone questioning our motives." Ted did see the worry Elizabeth had on her face, but he knew she would accept what she must do for the family. "Good, we shall leave at sun rise." Elizabeth walked to her room and prepared herself with her nicest of dresses. |

By the time Lord Jon and his Squire Robert Storm were outside the portcullis of Castle Solaria, the household’s cook had been up for hours preparing a unique mulled wine. The herbs came from Solaria’s own garden; a huge stretch of land that was cultivated by the lord’s wife, her handmaiden, the septa and the maester. The garden was divided into sections including useful herbs for poultices and other medicinal uses, a section for flowers, trees and other assorted fruits and vegetables that fed the household. When Jon would need a moment to himself, he would walk the gardens and find refuge among a private stretch of blue winter roses. He had an alter for The Mother constructed there and would visit when his missed his own mother. Sweet and hearty was the wine. So thick you would practically chew it by the time the chef had finished. The wine included a heavy dose of honey to cover its not so secret ingredient: sourleaf. The cook had also received from the maester, poultices made from nettle and Kings Copper grown in the garden. His final step in these early morning preparations was helping Lord Jon’s squire Robert Storm pack the provisions onto horseback. Lord Jon drank deeply from the mulled wine; the bitterness of the sourleaf would always make him grimace like the heavily hopped ales from Tarth. He spoke to Robert: ”So you’re comfortable with your part in the plan Robert?” Just in case Marillion failed with his part of the mission, Jon’s small council had come up with two alternative methods of achieving their goals at Rosby. The question nagging at Jon’s mind however was that of the invitation. Was this mysterious merchant trying to make a name for himself by inviting prominent lords and then bragging such lords had visited the brothel, thereby making a quick name? He believed in his squire and knew he would play his part well. Force would not work in this situation as well as subtly would, so he instructed Ser Marllion Caron to find a different way to meet Maester Meylwn in Rosby if possible. He had set out the day before and should be held up at the Horse Head Inn by now. If there was an underlying reason beside making a name of the brothel in inviting Lord Jon Connington, second of his name. The merchant would soon come to know the name of Jon’s more quietly held title: Seeker of every dead thing. He would continue with the thought of enjoying himself, although he felt that perverse in itself. Sweet Pea and Gladia were now ready to mount and ride. Robert was waiting for him and Jon swung onto his mare; the early morning silence was shattered and as the hoof beats boomed like thunder, a murder of crows took flight. They had been shaken from their sleep, the sound of the journey’s beginning herald for all to hear. [/color] Edited by Jon The Devout, Apr 27 2014, 08:30 AM.

The morning air was rather calming as Lord Ted prepared to leave for the road. He checked that he had his coat and his proper attire for riding and for business. He grasped his sword, the handle being cold to the touch sent a pulse through Ted's spine. As he finished his checklist for his preparation he looked to see if his sister Elizabeth was prepared to leave, their journey shall be long, and possibly unsafe, he wanted to be sure she knew of the dangerous and prepared accordingly. The roads in Cape Wrath would be fair to him, however the roads to Rosby out side of region of influence could potentially prove to be his folly if preparations were not done with danger in mind. "Elizabeth," he yelled at, "Elizabeth" he repeated himself. With no response his anger only festered, this was not a large household, there was not a large amount of land to hide on, everyone would be able to hear him and this early in the morning they did hear him, only the farm workers were awake at this hour, and they wake at sun rise, even though heard him. After hearing out complaints from a few, he told them to stop bothering him and that he had enlightened them to more of their day. With his blood pumping with frustration he turned to the household his family slept in and preceded to walk to his sisters room. The door was closed, "figures she would sleep on a day like this." He muttered softly enough that Elizabeth shouldn't of been able to hear it only if he ear was pressed upon the door. He knocked three times, "Get up Sister!" Her response was soft, and filled with fear. "I don't want to go." "You are in fact coming. Everyone must step up in the name of the family, this is your turn. No one will hurt you I will make sure of that." His sincerity while honest still had a sting at the end of it, both of them knew regardless of what he did, she would get hurt, and he was planning on it. "Love is something I never lack with you, my dear sister. When I was a boy, Father told me I had to learn how to sword fight, so he set me up with a trainer. Father watched. I was 11, the teacher was 30, every time he got one of me, he beat me. Told me it was the only way I would learn how to defend myself, to be so afraid of not winning in a duel that I would remember the pain of the butt of his sword striking me over and over again. When Father asked me why I was bruised, I told him the truth, the next lesson he watched, I thought he would stop him, but he too just watched as I got beaten over and over again. This I endured in the name of the family. Now you are a lady, your worth to this family stems from doing chores, marrying, and continuing the family line. That is it, so we shall use your sexuality to our advantage. If you were a boy, I would train you to kill with a sword, not just a dagger." She opened the door, "This does not justify what you want to do." "The family name is more important, than you and me. Are you ready to leave?" He was tired of the debate. He would get his way, it was the matter of how long she would continue to pester him. "I am ready to leave, I shall go with you brother. I love you." They began to walk together to the stable where two horses were outfitted for riding, they jumped on to their horses and began their journey. Their ride trough cape wrath was simple, it was when they entered into the crownlands that their journey began to have trouble. After riding past bandits that were chasing them on foot they encountered a young boy on the side of the road who looked as if he was starving and was close to death. "Elizabeth pleaded, "can we please give him a day's food? We brought more than enough for not just the ride there, but back as well." Ted figured that if he did not fold to this request he would not hear the end of it. "Fine sister," They stopped and turned around to see to the boy. "Boy, are you hungry?" The boy looked up with his green eyes that presented a deep sadness, "Yes." "Come to me I shall give you some of mine," Elizabeth offered. "I can't stand, I am so tired." "I will come to you." Elizabeth got off her horse and walked to the boy. It was when she got to the boy that a group of bandits came out from the road. Ted rode out to meet them as Elizabeth grabbed her dagger and took a step from the boy. There were three bandits that came out, all three waved their swords out with the intent to kill Ted and Elizabeth. The first one he slashed at as he rode past him and he flopped on the ground. The second man wielded a large axe, Ted rode around him and threw a knife in his back. The last one was running towards Elizabeth, Ted rode hard to get there, he grabbed her long enough that Ted had to stop his mane before he collided with the man that was holding his sister hostage. Ted yelled at, "sister, do it." It was then when she used the dagger that the man hadn't noticed and put it through his thigh. In response he yelled out in pain and fell to the ground. Ted got off his horse and stabbed him with his sword. "Boy, go away! I do not want to see you on the road again." Ted yelled out. The boy was already up and running before Elizabeth had realized the boy actually had the energy to get up and run. She began to cry. Ted walked to her and embraced here, "I will always protect you. Let us finish our journey. Our way home we shall travel with more men to protect you." Edited by Lord Ted, Apr 27 2014, 10:10 AM.

Ser Marillion Caron pushed his horse harder; his back arched and lower end stuck out in the air. The steed’s breath exploded into bursts of visible vapor as it drove its master closer to Rosby. The rocky path winded, but the steed knew its footing and was sure of every stop it took. In the distance the outskirts of the town began to appear and Marillion slowed the pace to a trot. He patted his steed which he had named Leona and stroked her mane. She nudged into his hand and the continued. The horse head grew bigger as they approached the inn; its flaring nostrils displaying great detail in the vivid work of a great craftsman. Marillion made a personal note: he would strike up conversation with the owner about the horse head. He was sure to be proud of the piece and would likely be more amiably to admirers of it. . Marillion walked through the door of the establishment; the smell of spilled beer and raucous talking played on the senses. A minstrel sat on a stool near the entrance and played flute in between the verses he sang: “ Pewter dragons can’t swing the balance my heart belongs to the flower of winter a spine a strong as a steel armored phalanx wont be so easy to chip, break or splinter” He was no fan of the Targaryens, but such a phrase of pewter dragons was in bad taste. An immediate disliking to the singer bore its way into Marillion’s being, but he pressed past him, further into the inn. It was very busy for a mid afternoon. Almost all the tables were occupied. To the right of the entrance was the singer, behind him were stairs leading to the cellar. Two men were climbing up carrying a big, lightly colored cask marked Dorne. To the far left were two to three person tables; there sat the minstrels audience, drinking and laughing. They would throw coppers to the singer whenever he would complete a song. Marillion looked at the sigils on their surcoats, they were Baratheon bannermen. He noted a black crow in flight over a patch of light green. Beyond the inkeepers shop table were the stairs leading to the second floor. This was were the rooms were. opposite those stairs were 4 long tables full of men at arms eating and talking. Flagons of ale were spread out across the table with a roast boar at each. He turned and walked over to speak to the inkeeper; a man of medium build with missing teeth. The ones that weren’t missing were yellow and surely on their way to becoming missing. He sat on his own stool smiling at Marillion as he approached. ” ‘ave you come for the wenches Ser?” “I sure have, do you have any full bosomed fair haired ladies?” “ m’afraid all the girls have gone over to The Split Rose Brothel. All thats left is me daughter.” Ser Caron imagined the man’s ugly face with a full head of female hair, breasts and missing teeth. He shook his head and changed the subject away from the daughter. I’ve never heard of The Split Rose, what can you tell me about it” He lied. ” No ‘un can go in m’lord, special invitation only. All the girls went in and ‘av not seen any come out, but that all I know about that!” He looked at Ser Caron through narrowed eyes and licked his lips. He touched the coin purse hanging around his neck and said ” what else can I do for ye?” “I noticed the beautifully carved horse head you have atop the inn. Some of the best work i’ve seen” Marillion said without breaking eye contact. The inkeeper smiled, his great, great grand sire had carved the piece by hand long before it ever rested atop an inn. It had been passed down through the family for generations. “you ‘ave a good eye ser. The horse head been in ma family for gernerations, but no sweet talk is gonna loose ma tongue lest I lose my tongue for sayin too much. If you don’t want a room or drink then get out!” He said obviously irritated. Marillion had failed to charm the inkeeper because he had no charm. He did have a sword, but that would not be wise yo use. He did think of another route, he could no longer question the inkeeper, but he had an idea. Ser Marillion Caron placed two silver Stags on the table,”I apologize my good shop keep, please give me a room and send up some of that Dornish red you just tapped there. Oh! I have changed my mind, I will be spending the night with your daughter after all.” |

He folded up the letter inviting him to the Split Rose and gently tucked it away into his pocket. "It seem Balthazar," he said to a spot just over his left shoulder, "that our agents have intercepted a special invitation to a grand opening of a brothel in the Crownlands. I believe that it will be a perfect location to spy on the travelers coming and going from Kings Landing." He immediately starts packing bags and gathering odds and ends from about his chamber. The last item he grabs is a finely crafted, but badly worn, lute. "What do you think Balthazar? Time to bring back the old minstrel act to learn what we can of this Split Rose?" |

"Rosby, we have made it." Ted looked towards his sister whose face has not changed from the depression that was sparked in her mood since the bandit battle on the way there. "You would be happy to know that this place provides a lot of food for the the Lannisters. Well not too happy, but you can keep that in mind as to how resourceful this town is to the crown." Elizabeth did not respond however, she was lost in her own mind. Her thoughts crowded with the journey's troubles, and the realization of what was really going to happen on this trip if her brother got his way. She would lose not just her virginity, but be shamed out of marriage of any quality. "Brother, is there a way we could live out your plan without my body being marked with the shameful act?" She stared right into her brother who showed no remorse. "Possibly, but no promises can be made. Your virginity is valuable, but expanding the families financial wealth can be done through this as well. Wealth can change men's perspective on your value in virginity. Coin speaks many languages and changes the mindset of all. We use to own land in crownlands, it was worth a lot, I sold it, wish I hadn't because the value of that land in war would have brought in many silver stags. Farmland becomes very valuable in times of war, especially the crops." A short silence came over the two of them, they shall not speak too loudly in public especially as townfolk were coming out of their hut to see the new wealthy travelers. Elizabeth smiles at the people, some of the men even smile back noticing her beauty. This was a weird feeling for her as no men paid much attention to her before this point, she was always just the little sister of a minor lord, nothing more. She in fact is a beauty, but living most of her life in the confines of her families home most of the townfolk from her home, Grechins, barely have seen her after she turned of age to marry. "We shall see if the ward will see us and provide us lodging, the gathering is not until tomorrow, I wouldn't want to stay in an inn if I needn't have to." They continued onto the castle where reluctant guards allowed them to enter as the ward granted them welcome. After being stripped of all weapons Ted and Elizabeth entered the hall of the castle to meet with the ward. "Who are you? You mentioned a title of Lord but your family has no name in these parts of Westeros." The ward asked Ted. "My family is from Stormlands, I have been invited here..." The ward cut him off, "yet another lord from far way for Split Rose? What is this place thinking they are doing? They do not understand I have to offer a place at my castle for you lords if I choose to recognize your title." "I have titles, and lands." "You come from Stormlands?" "Cape Wrath." "Does not matter, you are a baratheon then? Lannister's control the throne. Even though a Baratheon sits on the throne Stannis feels the need to trouble us all with war and attack us. Why should I bring you into this castle in this town?" "I am sorry for the past, true my lands provided for Stannis, however we did not recognize Stannis as our King. We merely paid tribute, offered what little men I could, and that was it. My brother who lead the forces took to his knee to Joffery at first chance. We were put in an awkward position, but we are loyal to Kings landing I assure you of that." He waits in a bitter silence. He lied right through his teeth, but there was so little knowledge of his family name in these parts it may work. "You may eat at my table, but you must pay tribute for the night." The ward offered. "You are most appreciated. As he grabs his coin purse he decided to pull out his medium sized bag, not to give too much, but not give too little to show no power and wealth at all. Perfect amount to show wealth without giving away too much. |

Squire Robert Storm filled the skins from the Blackwater Rush. The sound of the river eternally moving forward soothed the senses. Robert loved fishing and hunting, he used to fish all the time with his father. Well, that was at least before the war. When the war had started. . . He shook away the bad memories. He was on a mission and could not afford to get distracted, with feelings and nostalgia. His skins filled, he got up from his bent position and took the sounds in one last time. The horses had finished drinking and were nibbling on patches of grass here and there.”You guys ready to go?” He said softly to the steeds. Just then, he heard some leaves crunching and whirled around to find Lord Jon walking from his pissing spot. His face couldn’t hide the concern of Lord Jon making so much noise while walking. Jon smiled a little smile and said” Come now, dear Robert, i’m approaching a friend not sneaking up on an enemy” That was quite the thing to say, thought Robert. Especially with the danger involved on the Kingsroad. Lord Jon had left his sword at the castle and wore a two handed mace across his back. It was a dreadful thing; battle worn and heavy. Robert had cleaned and polished it in preparation of the journey they were on. He didn’t quite understand why Lord Jon had chosen to bring it instead of his sword. They were just outside Kings Landing; The Red Keep visible in the distance. Robert looked at Lord Jon and could see the pain in his eyes. Surely, he remembered good King Robert, why, it wasn’t so long ago that everyone was united under the kings peace. Lord Jon began riding at a faster pace and Robert spurred his horse into a gallop to match. *** Jon and Robert were a days ride from Rosby when they came upon a covered wagon positioned in such a way as to block travel on the road itself. They could have just left the Kings Road and continued, but Jon decided to stop and find out the meaning of such an action. With a shake and rumble of the cart a bald head popped out with shifty eyes and a pointy beard. It smiled when it saw the travelers and hopped down. ” My Lord! my Lord, I am Lino Nept and we need your help! My girls are starving for affection. So we are stoping travelers of the Kings Road and offering a deeply discounted price for company” With each word, Jon grew more disgusted, could one not even travel the Kings Road without offerings from the flesh trade. This was not Jon’s first tourney, he had been around the castle a few times. He gave Robert Storm a signal which meant to make a circle around the wagon. As Robert set about his task, the merchant’s brow furrowed and made to go after Robert. Jon grabbed him by the arm and shook his head allowing Robert to tour the wagon. When he got around to the other side, he lifted a flap and peered inside. The Merchant shouted: ” Anaya, Cerra help me” He tried to shake Jon’s grip but could not, he rached into his pocket and drew a dagger. Meanwhile Robert had peered in the cart; there were girls there chained to each other. They seemed to be sleeping and the inside of the wagon smelled like milk of the poppy. These woman were taken as slaves and of hearing the merchant yelling, Robert drew his sword. By this time Jon was on one end and Robert on the other, in between them were the two girls facing Robert and the merchant facing Jon. Each had serrated daggers in their hand and looks of apprehension on their faces. ”You have seen to much My Lord,”he said the last part sarcastically. ”We go’in have to take you with us” came the words Jon was hoping he didn’t hear. Letting out a long sigh, he lifted the two handed mace from its sling on his back. It was all black and had spikes in rows of three’s along the head for a total of 10 spikes. The last spike, protruded out from the head and was longer than the rest. Jon commanded ”By name of King Tommen of House Baratheon, you are under arrest. Lay down your weapons. LIno Nept saw the mace and wanted no part of battle with the Lord. He could not, however much he’d like, hope to win this fight. With panic in his voice he said ”what will you do with us” Jon pursed his lips and moved them to one side. ” My charge will be to bring you before the ward of Rosby. From there, you will most surely be turned over to the crown and from there. . .from there you may be lucky enough to be exiled and return to your master.” The slaver was considering the options when at last he dropped his dagger and told his girls to do the same. Jon ordered them to the side of the cart and made them put their hands on the rail of the cart. Robert picked up the daggers as Jon kept an eye on his new captives. When His squire finished collecting the weapons from the floor, he went over to Lino and his girls and searched them. He found a few vials of unknown liquid and pocketed them. Using rope they found in the wagon Jon and Robert tied Lino and his girls’ arms together and to each other. Jon charged Robert to watch them so that he may begin searching the wagon. Inside he looked over the girls in chains; one was awake and looked at him with fear in her eyes. A tear trickled down her cheek as she tried to inch away from Jon. First he uncovered their store of silver, which was two full pocket size purses of stags. Then, he found the gold in a small purse. He gathered all the money into his possession and continued the search. What he found next was a letter of instructions from the owner of the split rose. Jon laughed. He jumped won from the wagon and walked over to his three captives. ”Lino, are all your girls for sale?” He stroked one of the warrior woman’s cheek. Lino Said ”you can have any of the girls my lord, just let me go.” Lord Jon smiled and said ”no, I wont be letting you go, but I will be taking this girl” She pulled away from Jon’s hand and he said ”you can either be a live whore or a dead one” She stopped struggling and Jon untied her. His squire Robert Storm protested ”My Lord! surely you don’t need to-” Jon grinned at Robert ”No, I don’t need to, but you do..” Edited by Jon The Devout, May 2 2014, 02:42 PM.

Maester Melwys was standing outside the meeting hall when Lord Ted and Elizabeth exited. He looked busy and would refuse to pay much attention however Elizabeth smiled towards him and he stopped to greet them. "Hello miss, and mister, sorry I do not know your name, I must of forgotten you were coming, or you cam unannounced either way my apologies." He was an older man, but had a hop to his voice that typically was a quality of younger boys. His smile was odd, due to a few missing teeth, however his remaining teeth were perfectly maintained. Elizabeth continued to smile politely waiting for to hear her brother speak first, as is typically customary between two men of high title. Ted merely nodded at first, then a thought passed his mind, Elizabeth saw this clear as day, but this was merely because she had known him her entire life. "Greetings Maester Melwys, you needn't be apologetic towards me, I came unannounced, and I come a smaller house. You probably have heard of my family, our land holdings have grown in the past decade as well as our business. House Fagar, does this sound familiar at all?" His politeness only told Elizabeth he has something up his sleeve, she could not think of what, but it struck fear in his heart. "Oh, I have in fact heard of house Fagar, merely stories though, Rosby and Fagar never have done business, but Maesters do talk, and some of them have told me stories of House Fagar. Is it true you gave up land that had an Iron mine on it, just to gain farm land? I know the prices and worth of both, I would never advise a house to give up an opprunity to gain a mine of a resource used in war. Well food is useful, but iron has a higher price and just as a consistent demand as food." Maester Melwys knew he was insulted Ted, but he did not care, he would question any Lord that was not of high value to Rosby, he followed the Ward's decision to disrespect the Fagar family. "I did not know it was a Marsters position to question or even advise a Lord of a different family. However a short economic lesson to you. Stormlands are known for going to war, correct?" Melwys nodded. "Well iron is useful, correct?" Melwys nodded. "Well the price of iron is rather high in the Stormlands. Yet food for the armies that wage the war always runs dry. It's the Stormlands, we have two forms of weather, wet and cold. So farmland becomes very valuable, even though that is not recognized quite that well. We have large forests, which provide wood, but no food. Interesting. We are not a part of the watershed that Reach has. Therefore any farmland we have, any land that produces crops is highly valued to me, but other Lords over look that and focus on other materials and think Stormlands is good for harvesting wood, not food. So when wood resources dwindle, iron dwindles, we will be importing, but food will always be consistent." Melwys was drawn back, he never thought of all those things. Ted knew he got the Maester hooked. "Now, what I don't know is anything about 'The Split Rose'." Elizabeth smiled again that she knew where Ted was headed. The Maester seemed to be more respectful of Ted, "Well, my lord, there is some suspicious activity going on there. As you know from your time in the Stormlands, that Essos is very close. Well this is still a reality we must remember here in the Crownlands. Now I am not going to claim that Essos is sending Slavers to Crownlands, but this young man has bought the Estate that now houses 'Split Rose'." The Maester began to shake but continued to speak, "then the ladies that go there go missing. The young man was not the ones that bought the place, he is no where near that wealthy. Thus questions exists." |

”And you’ve never seen them again?” The question came from a solemn looking Marillion. They were working on drinking the second flagon of that special Dornish ale from the cellar. He was suspicious of everything; how did this inn in Rosby come by the special blends of Dorne? No, there had to be a connection between the inn, the wine and The Split Rose. Perhaps the connection was he was drinking too much wine and was now seeing grumpkins where there were none. The innkeeper’s daughter was not as homely as he had thought. Her breasts could have been bigger, but she did have a pretty face. Her eyes of common brown color, she had moles all over her body. The hair was shoulder length and matched the eyes. She had removed her clothing without cause except that she said she had to work for father; such a sick man to make his own family, his own daughter into the perverted arts. He was no prude, and would have a whore on any occasion if it pleased him. It had dawned on him today, now, that all these girls and woman had fathers and mothers. Still he had a job to do and do it well he would. ”What can you tell me of the brothel’s master? Who have you seen coming and going?” She was lying on the bed while he sat at the nearby table. She said ” m’lord, why all this talkin? Don’t you want me to pleasure you? No other man my father sent me to talked this much. I’m not sure it wise-” But before she could finish, Marillion got up and walked over to the side of the bed. He sat down next to her and silenced her mouth with a finger on the lips. ”This is part of our experience he said, you wouldn’t want me to tell your father he owed me money because you failed to provide the full experience now would you?” Her eyes lit up with worry. ”m’lord, I see the Ward’s Maester going in and out the brothel. I don’t think it’s ‘er pleasure ser neither. My father said, its not me place to talk ‘bout it either, but you worry me now, please don’t tell me father” Melwys! thought Marillion. ”And the brothel’s owner?” “He’s not from er’ound ‘er m’lord, he dresses like a woman and wears bright colored things. I saw him touch a boy! Please m’lord, i’m only expected to visit as my duty and not to stay the night. Marillion began to undo his breeches, he looked her over again and his eyes came to rest on her tiny bosom. He sighed. *** Jon was now seated in front to lead the wagon. Inside, was Lino the slaver, his two personal consorts, the four drugged woman they were taking to The Split Rose and of course Fair Robert Storm. Robert was the only one whos mouth had not been covered with tied cloth and he kept his sword at his ready. The plan had changed considerably since he had sat with his small council, but the ultimate goal was still the same. He stopped the covered wagon just outside Rosby and climbed into the back to have a talk with his captives and Fair Robert. ” Now listen up, you fucks. Not you Robert, move closer to me so they know who i’m talking to. He motioned to Robert to sit closer. ”Now then, Lino! here are your options, 1. You proceed with this wagon and complete your mission to the brothel. Any other option results in me smashing your head into the ground with my mace. Robert will escort your friends to Kings Landing to be tried and sentenced. Jon handed a parchment scroll sealed with his Insignia to Robert and turned back to the slaver. ”You and I will continue to The Split Rose. I will be your new consort and together we will deliver these four unfortunate woman to whoever your contact is. Then we will leave and I will set you free outside of Rosby. If I ever see you again, I will kill you. Some time passed as the provisions where shuffled around, and new ropes were tied to accommodate the new traveling arrangements. Jon shook hands with Robert and ordered him back immediately after turning the slavers and his letter in to the Gold Cloaks. He whispered ”If they try anything, kill them.” Edited by Jon The Devout, May 7 2014, 08:07 AM.
