#10. Brandon Jennings l Detroit Pistons

Checking in at #10 is Brandon Jennings. The transition from Milwaukee to Detroit will help him a lot as he could not co-exist with Monta Ellis. In Milwaukee, he averaged 17.5 PPG, 6.5 APG and 3.1 RPG on 40% shooting. In Detroit, Jennings will flourish since he will not be the man who has to take all the shots for the team. With Josh Smith, Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond on his team, Jennings can become more of a traditional PG and be able to pass the ball more instead of scoring in bunches and passing some. Smith and Monroe are players who are capable of making the All-Star camp and are making Pistons fans more optimistic about their team and hope that they can make the playoffs.

#9. John Wall l Washington Wizards

At #9 is John Wall of the Wizards. Wall is slowly coming into the PG the Wizards wanted him to be. He was hurt for a good portion of the season, but when he was healthy, the Wizards were a very good team. He averaged 18.5 PPG, 7.6 APG and 4.0 RPG on 44% shooting. With Bradley Beal and Otto Porter, the Wizards have a good trio of you that can help them make it back to the playoffs. Though they will probably miss out on the playoffs, the Wizards will have a solid core that is turning the franchise around into the right direction. Beal and Wall didn't play much because of injuries, but when they were together, they were one of the most effective backcourts in the league. Providing Wall can stay healthy, I think he will break out and have a major season and save him from falling into the "busts via injury" category.

#8. Deron Williams l Brooklyn Nets

Coming in at #8 is Deron Williams. The Brooklyn Nets have shown that they are serious about competing and have one of the best starting lineups in the league. Deron averaged 18.9 PPG, 7.7 APG and 3.0 RPG on 44% shooting. With a supporting cast of Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez, Deron Williams should have a resurgent year as he has been regressing the past few seasons. If the Nets want to be a top seed in the East, Deron Williams will have to pass the ball around and use his weapons effectively. Pierce and KG may be on the decline, but they are still good veteran players who can shoot well and help their team win. If Deron can somehow channel his inner Utah days, the Nets will be in great shape to contend with the Miami Heat.

#7. Rajon Rondo l Boston Celtics

Rajon Rondo ranks 7th on my list for different reasons. You can argue that he deserves to be higher but the PG class is so stacked. First off, He is coming off of an ACL injury and we don't know how he will return from it. Secondly, the Celtics traded away Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry in order to rebuild so he will have to be the main guy with Jeff Green. Thirdly, he is a bad teammate. Though, last season he averaged 13.7 PPG, 11.1 APG and 5.6 RPG on 48% shooting before he went down with his ACL injury. Rajon Rondo has been known to clash with teammates, and may have been the main reason Ray Allen went to Miami and pushed Doc Rivers out of town. He is also known to be a stat padder, stealing other teammates rebounds. He also has a very inconsistent jumper and is often left wide open by the defender to help on another player. Anyhoo, with the Celtics rebuilding and an ACL injury, I'm not sure if Rondo can carry a team ever or will he thrive with the Boston youth. Perhaps Boston will trade him in the process?

#6. Kyrie Irving l Cleveland Cavaliers

The All-Star for Cleveland ranks 6th in my list. He averaged 22.5 PPG, 5.9 APG and 3.7 RPG on 45% shooting. With Cleveland adding key pieces such as Anthony Bennett, Jarrett Jack and Andrew Bynum, the Cavaliers could sneak in as an 8 seed in the East. They also regain Anderson Varajeo from his season ending injury. With Kyrie, Dion Waiters, Anthony Bennett and Tristan Thompson, the Cavaliers have a young core who will be good for season to come. I expect Kyrie to develop his game more would not be surprised to see a 25 PPG, 7 APG, 4 APG on 47% shooting season. The sky is the limit for Kyrie, as he has the potential to be the best PG in about 3 or 4 seasons.

#5. Stephen Curry l Golden State Warriors

This past season, Curry broke into the national spotlight with a 54 point game in MSG against the Knicks, but in a loss. In the regular season, he averaged 22.9 PPG, 6.9 APG and 4.0 RPG on 45% shooting. Curry also broke the single season record of most 3 pointers by Ray Allen, banging in 272 3 point shots. Curry was snubbed from the All-Star team due to the fact that there are many great guards in the West, but let's not fault Curry for that. This season, Stephen Curry will make the All-Star team for the first time in his career. With Curry emerging as an All-Star and the Warriors adding Andre I give you a dolla to their team, the Warriors will look to become a contender in the West. Of course, if Curry's ankles give out again this season, then the Warriors will have problems. With San Antonio, OKC, LA Clippers and Houston, it will be hard for them to get out of the West.

#4. Russell Westbrook l OKC Thunder

After being injured in the 1st round of the playoffs, Russell Westbrook's season was finished and it affected the Thunder severely, losing to the Grizzlies the next round. Him and Kevin Durant were a force in the regular season. The Robin averaged 23.2 PPG, 7.4 APG, and 5.2 RPG on 44% shooting. He could be higher on the list, but Russell needs to be mentally better. Westbrook needs to realize that he is not the leader of the team and that Kevin Durant is. But, Westbrook is the facilitator and feels the need to chuck up shots that need to be Durant's. If Westbrook can set aside his ego and let Durant be the man when he needs to be the man, the Thunder can go far in the West with these 2 leading the way. Let's hope Westbrook's injury doesn't affect his game that much and can have his explosiveness back.

#3. Derrick Rose l Chicago Bulls

He's back guys. After sitting out the 2012-13 season with a torn ACL and lord knows whatever reasons, the 2010-11 MVP is back with the Chicago Bulls. In the 2011-12 season, Rose averaged 21.8 PPG, 7.9 APG and 3.4 RPG on 44% shooting. If Rose does come back to his MVP form, then he will rank higher on this list. Without him, the Chicago Bulls won 45 games without him but you could tell they needed his explosiveness. The Bulls ranked a solid 29th in PPG along with the 76ers and the Wizards. Fortunately for the Bulls, they allowed the 3rd least PPG in the league, cancelling the bad offense out. The Bulls made it to the 2nd round and were eliminated by the Heat. If the Bulls had Rose for the series, the outcome may have changed. One thing is for certain, the Bulls would push the series longer into 6 or 7 games. They may have beaten Miami, but who knows. Let's just enjoy the fact that D-Rose is back from his injury and that the Bulls will be back in full force.

#2. Tony Parker l San Antonio Spurs

Coming into #2 is Tony Parker. You may argue that he should be lower but Rose, Rondo and Westbrook are all coming off of season ending injuries and we don't know what to expect from them. Meaning, by default, Parker gets this spot. Last season for the Western Conference Champion Spurs, he averaged 20.3 PPG, 7.6 APG and 3.0 RPG on 52% shooting. Being the Spurs best player on the team, they ride and die with Parker. When Parker missed games due to injuries, the Spurs' play declined without him. The Spurs were 1 FT away from winning their 5th ring with Tim Duncan. While I don't think the Spurs will make it back to the Finals again, the Spurs will go as far Tony Parker takes them depending on how Tim Duncan plays the young age of 37 and if Manu Ginobli can recover from that lord awful Finals performance. Depending on how Kawhi Leonard develops, Parker may have another scoring option to pass to to take the load off of Duncan/Ginobli. If Tony Parker can play more than 70 games this season, he will be an MVP candidate if the Spurs finish with the top record in the West.

#1. Chris Paul l LA Clippers

The #1 PG going into the 2013-14 season is Chris Paul. Last season, he averaged 16.9 PPG, 9.7 APG and 3.7 RPG on 48% shooting. His efforts helped the Clippers have their first 50 win season and the first division title in the franchises' history. The MVP candidate will look to take the Clippers to new heights, with the team making big acquisitions to improve the teams bench. The Clippers added sharpshooters JJ Reddick and Jared Dudley via FA/Trades. The Clippers biggest move to help CP3 wasn't a player, but the coaching change. Doc Rivers will make the Clippers a better team and will elevate CP3's game. With Rivers managing Rajon Rondo in Boston, he will have no problems with CP3, as he a better teammate than Rondo. All in all with the offseason changes the Clippers made, I expect CP3 to come back closer to his 2007-08 form, where he arguably should have won MVP. If Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan can become better post players, the Clippers may be the one who dethrones the Heat's run.

Wow Jennings is not gonna have a better season than Ty Lawson.

The rest is very possible for the 2013-2014 season

Fair enough :). I don't know if Jennings will be able to be that good... But I could see like 15/3/8 for a predicted statline

Damian Lillard? lol. He lead the league in minutes and only was able to average 6.5 assist / 3 TO per game. He's a solid scorer, but outside of that, he has a lot to improve on to be considered a top-10 PG. (That Defense.... passing ...). I like him, but not that much yet.

Jrue Holday has not been better than Brandon Jennings in the past and he's not going to be better from this point on either. Jennings is an unpopular pick because of what he has done in the past and it's like people don't realize the change in situation or anything that he has said so far this offseason. In Milwuakee he was the Go-To Guy with Monta Ellis, who else was going to score the ball? Both players HAD to shoot 15+ times per game in order to keep that team in any game. If you want to argue that point? I'm totally game for discussing how giving Larry Sanders or Luke Ba Ma Moutnte Long Ass Name a lot of shots per game would result in more wins lol.

Now he's in Detroit, with Andre Drummond, Greg Monroe, and Josh Smith. What is Jenning's strength in his game? well obviously his speed, he can play passing lanes and gamble more with players like Smith/Drummond behind him, and get out in transition when he wants. It's not like Smith/Drummond can't run, they're both athletic freaks if we're honest. But I'm talking about Jennings strength in the halfcourt game? Pick and Roll. I've brought this up in other threads, he shot 39% FG last season and 36% from 3PT. Whenever he was put into pick and roll situations his FG% and 3PT% both increased to 40%. Now's he's being put in a situation where he has multiple targets to play with in that type of situation, Smith/Monroe - pick and roll or pop, Drummond - roll/lob. Targets that are MUCH more threatening to score than what he had in Milwaukee. Add in the fact that Jennings has addressed the press about it being obvious that he's in a new situation and he's going to change his game to be more of the player that he was back when he played AAU ball. If he limits his shot attempts to around 8-10 per game, he's easily going to be able to boost his assists numbers up from 6.5 to 8+.

Another positive about Jennings is that he doesn't turn the ball over that much, both you two mention Jrue Holiday being a better PG... do you know who had the better Assist/TO ratio, and did more to help their team win (if we're into Advanced Stats: who had the better EFG% and TS% last year)? Pretty sure that was Jennings. Now Jrue is being sent to New Orleans? That situation looks worse than Detroit, if you don't want to agree with that ... alright ...

You mean the shitty shots that he had to take because he was one of two only possible scoring threats on the offensive end of the court. He was still effective in Pick&Roll and Spot Up situations playing with the scrubs in Milwuakee ... now he's going to have Drummond/Monroe/Smith, as a defender are you going to key on any of them ... or Jennings in that type of situation? Jennings will get some nice looks and rack up a lot more assists. Also, he will probably play with Chauncey on the floor at the same time who can handle the ball enough to let Jennings play off sometimes so he can spot up.

Saying he's not even going to be a top-20 PG is crazy.
