Great potential, but no good games yet. No rumble pack? Seriously? Come on! |

I'm extremely pleased with it as it is, actually. Heavenly Sword is amazing, they made Lair playable, and it's backwards compatible... Rumble is not a big deal to me. In fact, I'll go so far as to say I actually kind of dislike rumble. |

The PS2 was awesome. Never before have so many great games been available for one console. The PS3 is worth about as much as the penny though. In fact, I'm becoming disillusioned with all 7th gen consoles. All power to the PC, but that's discussion for another topic... |

PS2 was the only console that was actually worthwhile in the previous generation. The Gamecube had some good games (not many, though), and the XBOX just plain sucked. To that extent, I was amazed at how badly the PS3 did. I mean, it was the followup to the only good console of the previous generation, you'd think it would stay at the top, regardless of its price. On that note, I have yet to see any games for the X360 worth getting it for (I hate the first-person shooter genre as a whole (Portal being the only exception), mind you), and the only reason I actually want a Wii is for Brawl, so pardon me in thinking that the PS3 is the best of the three consoles (besides, with my SMT: Persona 3 theme, even if the games all sucked I'd still love the console to death). |

Suit yourself. The only reason I'd want a PS3 would be for Gran Turismo, since I'm a racing freak. Now that I think about it though, I don't have a pletoura of games for my Wii.... And after I burned through Halo there would really be no other games off the top of my head I would play.... Aww crap, none of the next gen consoles matched up to the PS2. |

Give Heavenly Sword a play, and see if that's still true.
I agree here. The fact that my PS3 is fully backwards compatible makes it even more awesome. |

They took out backwards compatibility for the newer systems. |

Not entirely true, Mike. They took out hardware-reliant backwards compatibility to try and get it in firmware form. I forget exactly what the percentage of backwards compatibility is with the most recent firmware, but it's pretty high. EDIT: I have to laugh at the poll results. Some of you people actually hated the PS2? It was the only worthwhile console of the three in the previous generation. In fact, that's the reason I bought the PS3 in the first place; I wasn't about to allow a high price tag to make me forget the PS2's massive (unchallenged) win. On that note, I'm perfectly willing to reword the actual question so it more specifically targets the PS3 as opposed to all Playstation consoles if you'd like. |

The PS2 had AMAZING games. It wasn't bad graphics wise, and overall it was just the best console of it's generation. |

And of all time, until you throw in the N64. |

The N64 was okay. About all it had that I really care for nowadays? Zelda. That's it. Mario 64 was okay, but Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Zelda: Majora's Mask made the console, while the PS2 has amazing games up the fucking wazoo. |
