I'm thinking we should start recruiting before the game launches. We can likely find a good number of members through either the Wildstar Reddit or the official Wildstar forums. That way we have a larger player base to run quests and dungeons with when the game launches.

Yeah I agree, but we need to make sure we have all the guild information in order first ie, what days were raiding, what times. I think we also need to make sure we set a plan for recruiting a set of rules that we follow when recruiting a new member.

I can work on that and kind of submit a rough draft that would be open to changes and critiques. I have also written up a rough draft of loot council rules and whatnot that I will prbly post this Saturday. Again it would be something open to discussion and critiques. I just figure if someone just writes it all down people can look at it and agree or disagree, and go from there. Also I do not want to be involved in the decision making for loot council. Just saying.

Cool thanks Filtered!

As I said in vent I completely agree with trying to recruit early. I'll make a large effort this weekend to make sure the forum is up and running so that its ok to show to outsiders, and not have winnie the pooh images all over for placeholders xD.

I think the more we get down on paper the more people will be willing to help and keep going forward. It makes things become something more than a passing comment in vent.

Side note: we need to get the people in vent to start using this, and people we don't normally see in vent to use this so we can share information back and forth. Its impossible to have everyone online at the same time so this is a easy way to share that info.

This should probably go on a different thread that recruits can't see so that they don't get scared away but...

Rule #1 of loot counsel: There are no rules to Loot Counsel. (also Gohan gets all items)

As Per Recruitment requirements we may need to clarify if we are recruiting people specifically for raiding or if we are also recruiting people who just want to hang out and have fun, maybe pvp or run some dungeons. Personally I'm a big fan of fitting as many people into a guild as possible, but we would have to make it very clear that simply being in the guild does not guarantee you a raiding spot.

Recruitment Rule Suggestions:

1. No one under the age of 18 (unless they are hot, my email will be available upon request to verify)
2. No annoying voices on ventrilo. Self explanatory, determined by a vote.
3. No guild hoppers. This means anyone who has been in more than 2 guilds in the previous month. (give or take)
4. No one who considers themselves super hardcore. I know we aim to do well in raiding, but we also like to have fun and elitist ruin that.
5. No gold diggers. I've seen people ask about guild banks, etc. Ask not what the guild can do for you, but what you can do for the guild.
6. No one easily offended by vulgar language, etc...
7. Applicants should be able to speak or communicate in English fairy well. Miscommunication can cause issues.

That's all I can think of for now. Obviously there are always exceptions, but it would be nice to have a rough outline of what we expect from prospective guild members. And as I mentioned, what we expect from potential raiders would be different (more demanding) than that of casual guild members.

I think recruitment should start this week since the open beta starts on Thursday, I'll come up with some type of thingy we can spam in zone/advice chat.

I personally hate guilds that spam. Please do not spam. I think it's okay if a guild posts a short thing in general chat to find people maybe once every hour. But to see the spam just copied and pasted every 5 minutes just speaks of desperation, a lack of interest in their raiders (since they will take anyone), and no common courtesy. People who read the same message 5 minutes ago were slightly annoyed, now they're already bored with your guild.

A good reputation is the best recruitment message.

We just talked about this in vent but best idea ever for recuitment, new recruits have to play a game of cards against humanity with us in ventrillo and if they survive they're in.
