Hello and Welcome to the guild "Legion of the Rising Sun"

We are primarily a crafting and End-Game PVE-focused guild. For those of you who are interested in WvW and sPvP, we have an officer that will be coordinating this effort with other guilds (WvW) and among guild members (sPvP). With this in mind we will have craftsmen making gear that is free to any guild member who donates their crafting materials to the guild. We will also be providing free salvage kits to you in an effort to make this job easier.

Guild War's 2 allows any account to belong to 3 guilds at a time. While you can only represent one at a time, you can have membership in three of them. We are asking you to join our guild and represent "L.R.S." whenever you are playing the game. Guild bonuses for XP and gold will be received from the moment you joined and represent.

Influence Usage

Economy
Research Economy Level 1 ==> 500 Influence ==> Increase your guild's skill in Economy to Level 1
+5% Karma from Events for 3 Days ==> 200 Influence ==> For 3 days, your guild receives an additional 5% karma from all events.
+5% Exp from Events for 3 Days ==> 200 Influence ==> Improves guild experience gain by 5% for 3 days.

Politics
Research Politics Level 1 ==> 500 Influence ==> Increase your guild's skill in Politics to Level 1
+5% Influence for 24 Hrs ==> 50 Influence ==> Improves guild influence gain in PvE for 24 hours.
Research Politics Level 2 ==> 1000 Influence ==> Increase your guild's skill in Politics to Level 2
+5% Exp Public Banner ==> 100 Influence ==> Spawns a guild banner that will give +5% exp to any ally that touches it for one hour. (Not sure how long the banner lasts)
+10% Influence from Events ==> 200 Influence ==> Hire an event herald to increase the influence your guild earns from doing events for 24 hours.

Architecture
Research Architecture Level 1 ==> 500 Influence ==> Increase your guild's skill in Architecture to Level 1
Guild Workshop ==> 500 Influence ==> The workshop allows an additional upgrade to be building simultaneously.
Research Architecture Level 2 ==> 1000 Influence ==> Increase your guild's skill in Architecture to Level 2
Guild Stash ==> 1000 Influence ==> Grants access to a 50 slot Guild Vault and gold storage

Donated crafting loot will go towards items to be placed in the Trade Hall (AH)
We will use the money from these items to buy Influence.

I just updated this post and need suggestions from all.
Since these upgrades can't happen immediately, I need to play their implementation as the influence comes in.

There is 3000 influence just for level upgrades not counting the bonus items.
Just in workshop time this is about 96 hours.

I think I am going with Architecture first.
That will get us the ability to do two upgrades at the same time and a 50 slot guild vault.

I will have to read up on Influence and see what it is and how it works.

With that said I will go along with whatever you guys think is the right thing to do with it.

There are so many aspects to this game it is mind blowing :) lol

I do like the idea of Architecture coming first.

A periodic "Attendance Check" will be made and at that time, influence will be awarded to the guild.
Here is a basic list of actions that will gain influence.
  • 2 Posted Image ===> If an event is completed by a single guild member.
  • 15 Posted Image ==> If an event is completed by a guild party of 5 members. (3 points per hero when in a party)
  • 10 Posted Image ==> Each accepted guild invitation
  • 10 Posted Image ==> Each guild member online during an attendance check

Party with Guild Members when you can.

About Arch lvls 1,2,3,4, & 5. What exactly does gaining a lvl effect? I can't seem to find any info on it.

What it does is allow you to research specific things for the guild.
Nothing can be done unless you have at least one level of research in the 4 areas.
Once we have a guild vault and the ability to research two things at the same time (Workshop) we will then start on economy.
We then can have officers research 24 or 72 hour buffs for guild members.
How it is done is a little weird. I don't know how long the "Banners" last but someone has to carry it and allow guild members to touch it every 30 minutes or so.
I will post more information once we get up an going.

I wonder if the Attendance Checks will be predictable? If so, then guilds will use that to their advantage. For instance, even if a member isn't able to play but is near a computer when the AC is upcoming it will probably be a good idea to login afk till the AC completes.

Even better; if a member can't spend any significant time in-game near an AC but can login as above it would be advantageous to quickly team up for a quick DE (dynamic event). It wouldn't take much time but it would capitalize on the gathering of members for the AC by also getting some quick influence while waiting.

To address your question, I am not sure if addon's will be allowed. I have not seen any LUA files within any game folders or data files. I would guess and say the answer is no.

When it comes to influence and personal contributions I have been thinking on how this can best be accomplished. If someone wants to donate to the guild what should they do. Sending me or an officer gold is one way but to me that is impersonal and can cause arguments. What someone can do is go to the Guild Promoter and buy influence. If this shows up on the guild log then I can make a page showing contributions.

I am thinking that this is probably the best way but then we need gold for guild expansion if we choose to go above the 50 member limit. I can set aside gold from guild crafters and sales on the Black Lion Trading Company. The surplus can be used to buy influence, guild expansion, or what we agree is necessary.

B-) My conclusion is the following. Everyone should use their gold to improve their heroes. "IF" you choose to donate to the guild then visit a Guild Promoter and buy influence for the guild. I will keep an online sheet tracking all contributions.

If this changes, I will post a message explaining why and the extent of our need.
