Aprilius City
0530 Hours

The Corruption had returned in the early hours of the morning, a lot earlier than most would have expected after the recent events on Earth. Reports had been sent back to the main office of ZAFT and the Council as soon as the battle had ended, and given the last incident that had taken place with the Earth Alliance and ZAFT's own Zala Team, it was required that Lauren submit her own official report of what had taken place, as well as reports from the members of the team to account for everything. Account for everything, ensure that nothing was missed as to cover everyone's ass and ensure that the same higher ups from a year ago wouldn't shove her into another meeting.

Lauren cringed when she remembered the bittersweet memories of her the last time they engaged the Earth Alliance, and the results of which when she had returned to the PLANTs. Part of her expected soldiers to be waiting for the Corruption to repeat the process, and she'd discussed the possibility with Mihael shortly after the reports had been sent out. The conversation, given how harmless it was, had caused the man to get rather heated about it. It had taken her a bit to calm him down, but eventually he'd simmered enough to return to his normal demeanor.

When the ship had docked, both of them were the first to disembark from the Corruption and let out a sigh of relief that there weren't any soldiers waiting for them. Lauren offered him a small smile, reassurance that they hadn't done anything wrong was clearer now than it had been before and she walked down the ramp, a bag slung over her shoulder. She didn't say anything at first, moving to throw her bag into the back of one of the vehicles she'd purchased that was parked outside the hangar. She climbed into the front seat, Mihael following after her to take his seat next to her.

"How long do you think we'll get a break for?" He glanced at her, leaning back in his seat. "A week or two?"

"At most, I can see it being a week. It gives us enough time to visit with family and try to get some downtime." She shifted gears, pulling from the stall and speeding off down one of the roads to lead into the city. "I was thinking of visiting with my aunt and uncle, spending some time with Alice if she's not too busy. I don't know what her schedule is like, so it might be hard to work around. Hell, I don't know what anyone's schedule is like. I'll have to give them a call and see if they've got a day off."

He gave a short nod. "Hm, good point. I'll stop by the Council building tomorrow afternoon to see if I can see my parents. I'm sure Arisa will be there, too." He placed his arms behind his head. "Y'know, I was looking at some of the military reports. They're talking about some group of people that are attacking and robbing a bunch of ships. I heard that Eren went to provide escort to one of them. Maybe they're back as well, so you could probably see Alaric, too."

"If they're not too busy. You know how the Asuka team is. Going, going, going. I guess that's the joys of that team compared to ours." She laughed lightly. "I'll give them a call later this afternoon. Right now I just want to curl up in a real bed and get a few hours of real rest without being pestered by military personnel. Speaking of, Matthew said he would contact us later after his meeting, and I think there was also mention of going for drinks sometime later tonight or possibly tomorrow. We could invite Eren and the others to join us, catch up or something. I don't know how they feel about it. Eren's more reserved than the rest of us."

"You're not wrong about that. Eh, invite them anyways and see what happens. Rest first, though." He smiled at her as they pulled up in front of a small house. He climbed out, grabbing their bags to take them inside and sigh contently. "Home sweet home. It's nice to come back to this." He glanced at her before he set the bags down in the hallway, moving to the kitchen to grab a drink. He was about to say something when he heard footsteps moving up the stairs and the faint sound of something hitting the bed. "Aaaaand there she goes." He moved to the living room, sitting down on the edge of the couch with drink in hand as he flipped the news onto the TV.

<--------------------------------------------->

Matthew smiled as he finished talking to the bridge crew, dismissing them to disembark at their own leisure. He glanced at the watch on his wrist, sighing at how early in the morning it currently happened to be. "05:30, of course it is." He muttered before running a hand through his hair, stopping by the hangar to inform the mechanics and tech crew that they were also clear to disembark when they were finished. The Corruption would have repairs done, the restocking and resupplying as well. They didn't need to hang around the ship, there wasn't much of a point. He placed his hands into his pockets, staring at the mobile suits of the Zala Team, eyes moving over each one of them. He hadn't ever stopped to take a real look at one of them, and he hadn't piloted a mobile suit in some years. He chuckled at the thought. "Maybe someday." He turned from the mobile suits to find a couple of the members themselves. "Ah, morning gentlemen. Shouldn't you disembark, as well? The Commander and Lieutenant Joule have already taken their leave."

<<------------------------------------------------------------------>>

{{That's all I've got. Do what you guys want for the time being. This is just a random topic until I get another one going to further the storyline.}}

It had only been a few days ago when him and the team were fighting over the ocean after leaving Gibraltar, it could be safe to say no body wasn't a battle so quickly after coming down from the PLANTS. Nilus was surprised as well, he was no exception although he had a growing suspicion due to the Corruption's reputation that they would be attacked eventually, it would of been only a matter of time anyway, it wasn't like the Earth Alliance was ever intelligent with their military deployments to begin with. He wondered though if the Earth Alliance fleet was waiting for them in the ocean? The only logical conclusion he could come up was they had indeed been waiting for them, there objective was to destroy the Corruption, it had to be, there would no other reason why a Earth Alliance fleet would have six high performance Gundam type mobile suits in their fleet! Sure it also came to his mind that they could been of testing the machines since Gundam's were technically built to test new technologies but any sane person or organization would of performed such testing in a secure yet remote location the enemy would likely be no where near.

After returning to the Corruption in the Gelgoog Kishi after the battle ended, he had to remain in the medical bay for a few hours after sustaining small internal wounds from the sheer amount of G forces he had thrown onto his body during piloting the Gelgoog Kishi in the battle. During so, he had pushed the Gelgoog Kish's thrusters to it's limits. Sometimes he grew annoyed of the Gelgoog Kishi' limitations, at the time of it's development it was a highly advanced machine within reason but it's technologies were never perfected due to Terminal putting more resources into the Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice at the time. The mobile suit he piloted was excellent for it's job and he was honoured to pilot again to continue it's legacy but....he swore on his father's life the damm imperfect systems on the Gelgoog Kishi might killed him one day, not that he minded having a soldier's death, at least than he would fulfilled his duty as a soldier therefore he could rest easy.

After getting patched up, he ended up spending the next several hours in his office doing what every officer loved enjoy doing after an incident....writing out reports, he may not be the Commanding officer of the Corruption or the mobile suit team but he was still an officer on board the ship that actively partook in combat therefore his word was needed. He might of been officer, he might of been a soldier that took his duty far too seriously than anyone else but even he didn't enjoy the prospect of writing out paperwork. Even Nilus would admit it was a royal chore to do, he understood why it was required but it was still a royal chore nonetheless. Eventually after finishing filling out the correct mission reports, it would only be natural for him fall asleep on his desk since he was essentially suffering from battle fatigue and spent several hours writing out reports, maybe working too hard would get him killed? It was a good thing it had taken the Corruption a few days to return to the PLANTS, he able to get his normal amount of rest, which compared to the other members of his team was nothing but he was fine having the minimal amount of sleep, there were always more important activities to do than sleeping.

It was early in the morning when the Corruption had finally returned to Aprilius, Nilus had been awaken for an hour, working with the Gelgoog's Kishi's dedicated mechanic, Sherri on the standard testing of his machine. The machine didn't take any damage during the battle but the two of them were unsure how the Gelgoog Kishi's long range sensors were blocked compared to the rest of the team's? The two knew the model of sensor used in the machine were different but that didn't explain why it was cut off. They had been working at it for the last few days, even when they returned to Aprilius, perhaps he could take it to his sister to get her to repair it? She did know the mobile suit like the back of her hand....literally. It was no surprise to him when he had heard the Commander and Mihael had already departed the ship when they had docked, he wasn't here for the previous battle a year ago but he was sure she didn't enjoy being in similar circumstances. He was sure those two would get some rest and probably fun with their family friends since unlike him, they were normal folks. When the ship did finally dock and the majority of the crew were leaving for home most likely, his machine received a message from headquarters that had requested his presence to report what had transpired on Earth, his presence was optional due to the Captain having to report in himself but he felt it was his duty to tell his retrospective on the battle that had transpired on Earth.

"Looks like we got the green light for some vacation time sir! I'll see you in a week and don't worry I'll go report to Lady Cecilia for you!
He raised an eyebrow at his young mechanic as she she giggled somewhat before responding. She wasn't entirely wrong, if he told her directly, she probably would kill him since she cared more about the machine than her own daughter! Of course it was only more weird Aerith didn't really care much about the matter. "I know she would kill you if you told her directly!" Nilus sighed in defeat for a moment as he lowered his head. He waved Sherri goodbye as she exited the machine's cockpit and took her leave with the rest of her comrades, it was only than did he notice Captain Tadoka in the hanger staring at the mobile suits, talking to himself about something, he couldn't make out what he said entirely, something about Someday? Was he talking about the mobile suits than asking others to leave the ship? Now that he did think of it, he did remember the Captain had piloted mobile suits in the past some years ago like him before being given a command of his own. Well he was done for the moment so he thought he go take a break and speak with Captain Tadoka for a few moments after all, he had never seen the Captain down here, not once. Using the lift to get down from the cockpit of the Gelgoog Kishi, he walked over to the Captain and quickly soluted him to show respect before bring his hand down. "Sorry Sir, I don't take personal time off, my duty is my life, besides I've been requested elsewhere soon, you know the life of being an officer of ZAFT." His tone than turned the tone of his voice to something lighter and friendlier.

"Maybe what you said a few moments can be sooner than you think Sir, If you ever have the urge to get your wings wet, you can always fly the Gelgoog Kishi to get that old urge off your chest. I understand."

Nilus Paused for a moment before speaking once again.

"Now that I think about it Sir, we are similar, I was originally a redcoat pilot like our own team that piloted a high performance machine than like us, we were promoted to take command of a warship."

Nilus laughed a little before continuing

"Of course I can't say a Nazca-class compares to the Corruption now can I sir?

"And that should do it." Zeke said as he finished his suit's repairs. His first battle, though it was a hard fought battle at least for Zeke. He spent the last few days was on MS repairs and now it was time for getting some actual sleep. However he only got half way to the bunks before he passed out in the hallway.

He let out a soft chuckle. "I appreciate the offer, Pentis, but I'll have to politely decline your offer. No offense intended, but the Gelgoog Kishi doesn't seem like my type of machine. I've always been a ZAKU man." He continued to listen to the man talk before nodding. "Ah, the good ol' days of being a red coat. It can't be helped, missing the thrill of piloting a mobile suit but I'm better at commanding a ship than commanding a team. I'm sure you can understand the weight on your shoulders of being a commander, hm?" He smiled softly at Nilus, glancing towards the Re-Justice before he let out a sigh.

"You should disembark, Pentis. No sense in staying here on the Corruption when everyone else has taken their leave, don't you think?" He pulled his hands from his pockets, loosening the collar of his uniform. "I'll be headed home to spend a few hours with my son before I make my report to the military officials." He frowned at the thought. "I never liked paperwork, and considering the last incident on Earth a year ago, I'd like to ensure that the air is clear so that Commander Zala won't have any further complications regarding her military career."

Nilus himself chuckled a bit himself at the Captain's comment about his offer and the old days, he couldn't say he was really surprised by the Captain's answer but at least it was worth a shot to be nice"No offense taken Sir, I suppose your not into the Guaiz line are you?"
With how old the ZAKU series, he was surprised they were still in service, there performance had degraded much since their first deployment twenty years ago but there versatility had saved them from early retirement, of course by this time he thought Terminal's DOM would of had became ZAFT main model mobile suit since it's performance was much higher than a ZAKU Warrior and a GOUF Ignited yet it was the opposite. He knew his sister had pushed ZAFT's Integrated Design Bureau for newer designs like the Gelgoog Sosen but the high development costs for a new model mobile suit prompted them to go with the "Battlecarrier" style warfare instead. Nilus cleared his throat with a cough before speaking again "I do Captain, spent the last several years commanding the Clarent hunting down a pirate group renowned for piloting mobile suits skillfully....I lost a lot of good pilots bringing that group to Justice." He laid his hands at the bottom of his waist as he twisted his neck, letting it crack as he continued to give the Captain his undivided attention, he had definitely spent a little too much time in the cockpit for his neck to become this stiff. He raised an eyebrow as if he was a little confused

"Sorry to disappoint Captain but I live my entire life to the military, The protection of the PLANTS and the people of the world come before my own needs hence why I've never once taken shore leave or vacation time from the military. I don't have a romance or love life despite what Mihael thinks and I don't have much of a family, my father is like me, always in space performing his duty above all else, right now I believe he's commanding the Minerva-Class Injustice, My mother Eileen Canaver, we don't see eye to eye anymore due to family politics than there's my sister who only cares about designing and building mobile suits, she cares far more about the Gelgoog Kishi than me. Then there's my niece who's stationed at Carpentaria."

He let out a sigh as he stared at the Geloog Kishi than the Re-Justice and finally the Captain again, he really had no ambition to go see his family or at least the ones he could go visit anyway, especially his sister if he had any say in the matter.

"Sorry Captain to bore you with such trivial details, am wasting your time when you could be heading home to your son. You should know before you go Sir that Headquarters had contacted me directly to go report in for the debriefing, I assume there being Thorough. I would say though, considering that Earth Alliance fleet with Gundams opened fire on us first, I think the Commander's career is fine"

"Ah, I'm not surprised that they would request another source for verification purposes. Allow me to explain?" He motioned for him to walk with him, keeping pace with the man. "Last year, we had the pleasure of encountering the Earth Alliance while we were headed to Carpentaria, but we did so just outside of ORB waters. The battle took a turn for the worse and the Commander crossed over into ORB territory while chasing an Earth Alliance pilot. Normally, you'd think it'd be okay considering our Commander is none other than the princess of ORB but given her status with ZAFT and the current battle weighing into the equation, ORB chose to engage us." He stuffed his hands into his pockets once more as they walked.

"It's a sad day when you're pinned against your older brother on the battlefield. Come to think of it, this took place just before both Lady Cagalli and Kaemon were murdered on live TV. Either way, the officials didn't like it much. They locked the Corruption down upon its return to the PLANTs and took both the Commander and her XO at the time into custody. Wasn't long after their demotion to red coats that the XO died, too." He made a face. "He was an interesting guy. If you think Mihael is a handful, you should have met Samalot. He was definitely one of the few on the Corruption that it was best not to piss off, and I think part of him rubbed off onto Lauren." He removed his hand to run it through his hair. "Kinda miss that personality around here, but it can't be helped. Death chases us all." He offered a glance to the man.

"Either way, like I said, I'm not surprised that you're coming along. The extra verification will serve to keep us out of trouble, and to ensure that we're actually telling the truth and not ruthlessly hunting down the Earth Alliance, as much as we'd like to. Let's just hope no more death follows after this. I'd prefer that we don't lose anyone else." He paused when he noticed someone passed out in the hall, a sigh escaping him. "Gimme a hand with this, would you? Looks like Katano's out cold in the hall for the umpteenth time." He moved over to sling his arm under one of Zeke's, waiting for Nilus to do the same before lifting him to his feet. "Dammit Katano, we've discussed this on several occasions. Please, for the love of ZAFT, stop sleeping in the damn halls."

Nilus nodded as he walked with the Captain out of the hanger and down a hallway, He spoke of previous events that had transpired a year ago, he remembered hearing about it at the time but he, like many other weren't able to read the reports due to the entire incident being highly classified and frankly it still was obviously due to it's contents. He was a tad surprised when the Captain mentioned the murders of Lady Cagalli and the Commander's brothers, He didn't personally know the two but he always had respect for the Lion of Orb, whom always fought for peace weather on a battlefield or a conference room, he was saddened to hear it when his father told him directly, he couldn't remember for the life of him if he was there at her funeral or not, he knew his father had fought alongside her during one of the Great wars but he never talked about it or her much, the War still effected in more ways than one. He rubbed his chin with the palm of his left hand as he eyes looked back to the Captain after he finished speaking "That was...a most unfortunate day Captain, I still remember when my father told me, I had always respected Lady Cagalli for what she stood for, am sure the Commander will continue her legacy." Removing his hand off his chin, he laid his hand on his hip "I can't personally say Lauren has a attitude problem for the most part Captain, the only one who needs military discipline and courtesy is Mihael." He shrugged his shoulders as he raised his hands "But he's a Joule, he's like his father when he was young, not much anyone do about it, frankly I wouldn't care what he did or how he talked as along as he laid off the smart ass remarks, I worked my ass off to get my black coat and a command." he chuckled a bit as the two continued down the hallway.

"Don't worry Captain, I'll make sure to do my best to make sure no one gets screwed over, Hell I honestly feel like there probably take more interest in me than the commander since I decided to play hide in go seek in that Alliance Fleet with a Gundam firing on his own ships in an effort to take me out, that was far more reckless and questionable than what the Commander did, she only gave use the order to fire at will when they fired on us first." He raised an eyebrow when the Captain stopped for a moment, He didn't understand until he looked until he saw Zeke, He sighed as well. He would have thought Zeke would have learned his lesson by now? He had told Zeke a number of times to just sleep in his cockpit like he had done multiple times than try to make it to his room if he was that tired but no, of course not, he was on the floor knocked out. "Sure Captain, this certainly ain't the first time he's done that." Following the Captain, he wrapped one of his arms under Alec's and lifted him Zeke to his feet. "Zeke I don't know if you can hear me bud but you gotta stop this, If your extremely tired, just sleep in your cockpit or ask someone to help you get to your room, I wouldn't mind since am always in the hanger."

For a couple of seconds he seemed to regain some form of conscious. However it was only long enough for him to mumble something. "Scatter Cannon still needs tuning... trying to decrease power draw... ships engines still need some work after that last skirmish..." Zeke said as his brain still seemed to be run numbers despite his state.

Matthew listened to Zeke's rambling before he shook his head, helping the young pilot to his room and setting him down onto his bed. "Katano, we'll discuss this when you're more coherent and can form an actual sentence. If you remember any of this later on, please make sure you leave to visit your family. We don't know where we're headed after this, and I'm sure that in the event it's to another battlefield, seeing your loved ones before you go is highly preferred by those of us in charge. Give them ease of mind that you're alright." He took his leave from the room, pulling his phone from his uniform pocket. "Damn, hard to think that we've been pissing around for an hour now. I think it's best to take our leave, don't you, Pentis?" He offered a glance to the black coat.

Holding onto Zeke, he and the Captain brought Zeke into his room and gently laid him down on his bunker, he looked the other way when the Captain spook to him although he was sure Zeke was basically knocked out at this point. After the two walked out of Zeke's room. He sighed slightly as he laid against the wall as the Captain commented they wasted an hour, it couldn't be helped he thought but he was still a tad shocked it took an hour to carry Zeke from a hallway all the way to his room. He nodded as the Captain took the leading, telling it was best to leave "Yes sir, I'll make sure to check on Zeke in a few hours and to see if he's "Capable" of getting to his family. If he has a family he treasures, he should go see them, it's not easy nor fun being a full time soldier." Allowing the Captain to take point, he followed him down a few hallways through the dormitories towards the middle of the Corruption where the disembarking bridge was located , he decided to ask the Captain something since he was curious Captain, If you don't mind, Can I ask you a question? You mentioned you were originally a pilot of a Zaku Warrior Model at one point, Were your originally an ace pilot? Its sometimes hard for me to remember or believe that this is all real if that makes any sense, that were all on board a renowned ship that entirely comprised of Ace pilots who are all Prodigy's and are children of some of the Super Aces from back in the day, Did your Parents fight in the Great Wars?""

He shook his head. "No, my parents aren't anything like Kira Yamato or his wife, Lacus. They aren't anything like Athrun Zala, either. Just ordinary people who do ordinary things." He smiled before chuckling softly. "My mother, Marida, is an instructor at the ZAFT Military Academy. I'm sure you've heard of her, she's one of the best there." He turned to look at him, still wearing a smile. "My father, Kentou, works with one of our main mobile suit development companies. He oversees the R&D department and even assists the owners should there be anything they need. It's like I said, ordinary people doing ordinary things."

He let out a soft sigh. "I was an elite pilot at one point in time, but I was given the opportunity to become a captain. I took it, not only because I wanted to move up but because it meant I had more chances and time to spend with my son. It's a hard thing to deal with sometimes, having a military career and children at the same time. You have to learn to balance them both, and being a single father will make it even more challenging." He scratched the back of his head. "ZAKUs.. I can't explain my love for them, but anything related to a ZAKU is alright in my books."

Nilus grinned as he sighed slightly as he heard the name "Marida" He had completely forgotten about her! And of top of that she was related to the Captain, why didn't he put it together sooner? He nearly face palmed himself at the very thought, luckily for himself he stopped himself at the last moment. "I know your mother all too well Captain, I remember her quite well during my time at the Academy, excuse my language but she almost kicked my ass when I almost flunked out in the beginng." He sighed as he looked down at the floor before putting his hands in his pockets, his tone changed to something more positive "How is your mother Captain? I haven't seen her in several years, not since I became a Black Coat that is.Perhaps I should visit her sometime when were nearby." At the back of his mind, that was still a small portion of him that was still scared shitless of her due to what happened at the academy all those years ago. As they continued to walk through the Corruption, he kept listening to the Captain whom described his family as normal, he sometimes wished he was born as a ordinary person but that wasn't to be his fate, he had too many responsibilities to disappear despite wanting to at times. "I sometimes wish to be a ordinary person Sir, instead I was born from a famous knight like war hero Commander and a Chairwomen who almost single handily saved the PLANTS from burning. Sometimes wouldn't mind being a farmer being a no body."

Pushing a small button on a console next to the door, opening it revealed the disembarking bridge from the Corruption and the dock it was connected to. Leaving the Corruption, the two walked down the bridge side by side as the Captain finished his story with his love of the ZAKU Series "I've never piloted a Zaku Warrior, more a Guaz person myself due to my uprising and training." He shrugged his shoulders until he saw his CE 57 Ascari Noble parked in the distance.......wait how the hell did his car get there? Than he noticed a little blonde in the cockpit, his face turned almost blue "uuuughh....Fuck me" he muttered to himself, he closed his eyes out of frustration "Of course Aerith would be here but I thought she was at Carpentaria? Why was she here? He wondered to himself

"My mother is a charmer, that's for sure. She's always been strict with her students, but she means well. She has a kind heart, one of gold." He chuckled, looking up at the sky. "Ah, she's quite alright. She watches over Viserys while I'm working or away with the Corruption, perhaps you could join us for lunch after we meet with the officials. I'm sure she'd like to see a friendly face after all these years." He smiled as he watched Nilus' expression change. "Uh, Pentis..? Are you alright?" He placed a hand on the man's shoulder, tilting his head to look at him. "You look as if you've seen a ghost."

"Captain I would be honoured to, It be nice to meet your son as well." Nilus expressed happily before rubbing the back of his neck with his hand before he spoke half jokingly"Hopefully, your mother won't put me on my ass for old times sake like she used to." He remembered the Captain's mother quite well indeed, she was quite the skilled instructor, she was considered to be even more skilled than her predecessor, Fred of the Knife who was said to have only been beaten in a one on one with Athrun Zala. He remembered being thrown on his asses more times he would have to remember but she help him become the soldier he was today. The role she played was that of a role model of sorts, someone he looked up to, unfortunately he was sadden when he could no longer see her due to various circumstances, still it was nice to hear she was still ok, he knew she wouldn't go down without a fight. This time Nilus did face palmed himself gently with the palm of his own hand when the Captain noticed his change in expression and placed his hand on his shoulder. As they were nearing the end of the disembarking bridge, He pointed his index finger from his right hand at his CE 57 Ascari Noble just as Aerith closed the door to his car. Stepping out of Nilus car, Looking out the mirror on the car's door, Aerith pushed her free hair back before putting on her stand issue red ZAFT hat on the top of the head. Dusting her red uniform off any mess prior, she looked over her shoulder and instantly saw Captain Tadoka walking alongside Nilus. Little giggling came out from her mouth as she ran over to the two and saluted towards Captain Tadoka happily as a normal girl could "Captain Tadoka Sir! Do I have permission to tackle Nilus....errr I mean Pentis Sir?" she asked giggling like some high school girl, Nilus on the other hand couldn't believe she just did that and in front of a superior officer! There was no hesitation or anything that could stop him this stop from face palming himself.....hard. Sighing heavily he pointed his finger at Aerith. "Captain sir.......this is....Aerith Pentis.....my niece or my older sister's daughter.....As can you see....she's likes to do what she wants." He covered his eyes again with the palm of his hand as if he was shamed while Aerith simply continued to giggle like she had already.

Zeke started to regain consciousness having got some sleep in. Zeke then let out an unsubtle yawn before getting some of his stuff together for shore leave. it was mainly a few pairs of cloths, his note and two blueprints he was working on. He then left his room to make his way off the ship to catch a shuttle to Martius City. "If I see the Captain I should tell that the starboard engine still needs some repairs." He said as he made his way down the corruptions hallway.

Matthew blinked a few times, staring at the woman. He could see the expression on Nilus' face and he seemed to smirk, if only for a moment before his expression was stern. "I noticed. Aerith, was it?" He stared at her for a moment before folding his arms over his chest. "I'll offer you a friendly piece of advice, considering you're still fairly young." He kept his gaze on the younger girl, knowing there was really no other way around it. Her behaviour, despite Nilus being her family, was completely incorrect by military standards. If the Commander had seen it, or Lieutenant Joule, the situation would be no different.

"I understand that Pentis here is your uncle, and by no means is that an issue, but the fact that your military protocol is slacking is. You need to maintain a straight face, a proper posture, and remember that despite what personal relationship you have with the man next to me, you are still a soldier of ZAFT. You're to salute him, and address him properly, as you are towards any other higher ranking official. Requesting permission to 'tackle' him is by no means professional, especially of a soldier." He let out a sigh. "What you do on your own time is of no concern to myself, but as Pentis is currently still on duty, you'll do best to remember the proper protocol of a soldier and their superiors. Count your blessings that I'm a bit of a passive man and it wasn't anyone else."

He eased up and offered a small smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Aerith." He turned his gaze to Nilus. "Shall we get going? Perhaps the sooner we deal with this meeting, the sooner we can get around to a little well deserved R&R."

Aerith's eyes widened as she listened closely to Catain Todaka although one could wonder If she took his words serious with that mischievous smile that stacked on her face, Nilus rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms, she was either in for it now or the Captain would be walked over, somehow Nilus couldn't tell. The whole thing he couldn't take serious, he doubt the Captain could take her seriously, how could he when she leaned in slightly to the right saluting with that mischievous smile. He sighed in relief when the Captain began speaking, at least she wasn't giggling as he was talking but he couldn't say that for afterwards. Immediately after Captain Todaka finished telling Aerith of her failures, she raised her voice as she began to speak "YES SIR CAPTAIN TOKADA, I WILL DO MY BEST TO FOLLOW YOUR EXAMPLE SIR!...hehe"

By the time this conversation would end, Nilus swore his forehead would be red by the many times he could face palm his forehead by her logic. "Did she even listened? He thought to himself. He was caught off guard as Captain Todaka looked to face him and asked If they should get going. uhh...Yes Sir, am ready when you are Captain, the sooner this is done, the sooner I send your mother to discipline Aerith here."Aerith in response pouted and stuck her tongue at him to show she definitely did not like his idea for a joke If he was even joking, which he wasn't even sure himself. Ignoring Aerith, he turned back to Captain Todaka Captain, I can call down a transport from HQ to take us to HQ or we can take my car which.....Aerith somehow acquired while I was away."
