Name: Shin Matsumoto
Age: 26
Biotype: 3/4 Human, 1/4 Newman
Eyes: Heterochromatic. Right eye is blue. Left eye is green.
Hair: Naturally black. Always dyed white.
Height: Six foot one inch.
Favored Combat Type: Fortefighter

Theme Song: Ready to Die - Andrew W.K. (if interested, this links to a YouTube page with the song)

Distinguishing Features: Shin is heavily scarred. His face has a few scars on it, most small nicks. However, his lower body is almost decorated in scars, many crossing at unusual angles. This is most apparent when he wears his trenchcoat, as he does not wear a shirt under it, revealing primarily a large burn scar that slices across the center of his chest. His left arm, however, is surprisingly undamaged, with very minor scars here and there on it, creating a vast difference from the rest of his body. A close observation will reveal that his left arm is slightly off in skin color from the rest of his body. It is a cybernetic arm, and bears many similarities to a male CAST's arm, including a seamline between the left shoulder and the rest of the arm. This is a bit of a personal subject for Shin, but he will relay the information to anyone who wants to take a mission.

In combat, Shin is generally covered in a blue flame aura. This is actually a defensive measure he has set up through his Photon Line Shields. He uses this "Aura Field" to repel close-range attackers from getting too near his body, as the flames extend beyond the Line Shield's defensive barrier, allowing him to keep them active without incinerating himself. Though he uses a Nanotracer, any weapon he thinks he will need more often, he keeps physically on his person. He has two sheaths for photon sabers in his jacket, and two at his waist. A larger, leather sheath on his back seems to be for various greatswords, perhaps spears with broad heads as well. The one weapon he never places into his Tracer is his pistol, a Ruby Bullet custom model, altered slightly to his specifications, including a shorter barrel, slightly extended grip and ejectable photon core for easy reloads. This is kept in a holster attached to his lower right leg, and is generally only used in extreme circumstances, as he despises the use of guns.

Personality: Shin is incredibly harsh. He will speak his mind. This is not a matter of "offense" or anything of the sort. He simply speaks his mind, and he has a rather negative mind. Though this of course rubs people the wrong way, Shin doesn't seem to act like he cares. However, after a few drinks he becomes a more tolerable person (though only slightly so). The quickest way to befriend Shin is to drink him under the table; however, as Shin himself has stated, he can "down a twelve-pack like it's water and still have room for a few glasses of vodka." His alcohol tolerance is incredibly high, making this method difficult to do.

From a business perspective, Shin makes a relatively good mercenary. He follows the mission to a fairly close line, making sure all requirements are completed before moving on to his next mission. If he does not feel he can finish the mission, he will simply not accept it. He seems to be at least moderately intelligent, though not smart; he is more street smart than anything. He is not stupid and does tend towards good combat planning; however, he is not the most knowledgeable person out there. His skills, however, come at a premium price. As Shin commonly says in response, "Look, you want the best, you'll pay for the best. Don't want the best? Go somewhere else." His talents lie in hacking and front-line combat, though he can perform subterfuge if required.

Combat Style: "Suicidal" is a good word for it. Shin charges in almost blindly into the enemies. Usually seen with either a scythe or a greatsword, the man literally ignores nearly any damage that doesn't kill him, and possibly even some of what should. He rarely dodges attacks, preferring to bite his tongue and charge through whatever stands in his way, or parry with his own weaponry. He has been known to run himself through on an enemy's weapon simply to slice their head off. His body shows a mass of evidence to support this. Fortunately, he seems to have no one who is so attached to him that he'd be missed if he was killed in action.

This is not universal, however. Shin will not run into a battle that guarantees death blindly. If faced with a dangerous situation, he will fight defensively and use some strategy to his combat; this is not preferred, however. Shin enjoys the pleasure of battle, the thrill of the fight itself, and does not enjoy having to contemplate. This is also why his gun, a custom Ruby Bullet, generally hangs in its holster; Shin enjoys the front lines, and chooses to proceed there.

Weaponry
Primary Weapons:

Agito Repca: Something about the design of this weapon makes it incredibly easy for Shin to use. With his Agito out, Shin is a spinning, whirling blade of death and destruction. (OOCly, Shin likes this sword because Shin Arishima, his PSO form and the now-suppressed recessive soul of Shin Matsumoto, used a legitimate Orotiagito. Thus, Shin uses the Agito Repca. By the way, I am looking desperately for one of these.) His fighting stance with the sword is low and crouched down, usually with his left hand supporting the spine of the weapon.

Flowen's Greatsword: This, however, Shin uses less gracefully. He simply swings the massive photon sword around with both hands while near enemies, attempting to cleave through everything that would stand in his way. This can, and has, made him dangerous to ally and enemy; as such, he simply wields the Agito if he can get away with it.

Ank Dedda: This weapon gave Shin the nickname "The Black Demon," due to his armor color and insane combat style. Shaped like a scythe, Shin uses it as such, drawing and tripping enemies with the handle to slice them in half with the head. It doesn't help that usually, when he grabs the weapon's hilt, a psychotic grin comes over his face...

Secondary Weapons: Two Durandal blades, often used in conjunction, though occasionally only one is used, and a Two-Headed Ragnus weapon set. He keeps a Ruby Bullet pistol just in case, though they are rarely used. Other various weapons are occasionally used, but are usually either greatswords or scythes, occasionally various axes.

History: Shin Matsumoto's personal history file shows quite a few things. He was a Guardian, born into the service. Parents are Ryoichi Matsumoto, master Hunter-Class Guardian and Keiko Amaya-Matsumoto, master Force-Class Guardian; ranks Lieutenant General and Captain, respectively. Both were excellent soldiers, and both were killed in action three years before the SEED attacks. Shin managed to obtain the rank of Commander by age 23 and was well on his way to a productive career within the Guardians. However, when the SEED attacks began, Shin expressed quite a bit of frustration at the Guardians' methods of taking care of the problem. Specifically, much of his irritation was pointed at Ethan Waber, the man who eventually did restore the Gurhal System. A month after Waber had executed the corrupted Renvolt Magashi, Shin decided he was done with the red tape of the organization. He formerly took his leave and retired from the Guardians, starting his own mercenary service, the Moon's Blade Mercenaries.

Events after that have been rather sketchy at best. Before he had left the Guardians, the last student he trained, as Captain Matsumoto, was Naes Siwel. Matsumoto took a liking to Naes, and tended to defend him as if a little brother. Soon, he was also introduced to the CAST woman, BU-33S, also known as Atlasla. The two of them dated for about three months, but Shin ended the relationship due to difficulties within Atlasla's extended family, as well as disagreements with her methods. Soon after, Shin vanished from sight. Sightings of him were occasionally seen by others, but nothing was confirmed for almost a year, until Shin returned. With his return, Shin seemed different, colder and more ruthless, more calculating than he was before. He had also at some point recently lost his left arm, forcing him to replace it with his new cybernetic arm. This has taken its toll on the mercenary. Nevertheless, Shin now works primarily on the Guardian Colony, having been called on to assist with testing of the newest simulator, at the request of the Guardians. He has been re-issued a temporary Guardians' License, with the temporary rank of Lieutenant Commander to offer him some command. However, he has expressed that he will not be returning to the organization, but will simply assist in the testing of the MAG Simulation.

Recent Events: Shin returned to his apartment in Moatoob recently after a rather long hiatus. After paying the back rent he moved back in there, and has reopened the Moon's Blade Mercenary service he ran before. He is now looking to hire more to his staff, as a single mercenary does not make for much of a group.

I hate to double-post, but I figured it would be acceptable in this case. The biography has been extended to about twice its original length. Throw me some feedback, even if it's in a tell.

Emrald, well. I didn't because Shin doesn't acknowledge that. Remember? He's stubborn?
