I'm bored, and I was wondering who is everyone's video game hero? I have so many, but my biggest would have to be...Wait for it...Master Chief. Why? I'm a Halo fangirl, and I think Master Chief was a good character, always willing to do the fighting, and unlike emo heros...he KNOWS he can do it. |

I really gotta agree on that... for all intents and purposes, Master Chief is a real badass. It don't matter whether you like him or not; having the guts to take huge squads of alien armies....eeeeeeeeeyeah. Only person I've known who did that before was Duke Nukem, and he hasnt been around for about 10 years (which sucks, but I stoped hoping for Duke Nukem Forever...well, about 10 years ago). Video game characters I admire... I honestly have to break this into two seperate chatagories. In the "bad-guy" catagory, no question, that's Psycho Mantis. I won't really go into the details of why (mainly cause it would PROBABLY produce an uproar; that has happened to me on several occasions), but really now... "I see that you enjoy nintendo games... you like adventure game... you seem to like the Legend of Zelda, dont you?" Me: Favorite hero of the story...Hrmmm... I dont suppose that characters you creat count? Bleh, didn't think so... That being the case, I'd say Riddick. Some people at this point may go "Now hold on! He's a movie character!" Yes, he is...AND a video game character. The video game happens to be a prequel of sorts to the movies, but it's still a game. It's the same story, and thus, Riddick probably remains one of my favorite (if not my favorite) video game characters of all time. Someone who can kill a man with a teacup... holy hell that's awesome. EDIT: I thought of one more: Chris Redfield. Eeeeyah, considering that Resident Evil is my favorite video game series of all time, I'm perhaps a little bias on this one. However...he's gone through two events now in the Resident Evil universe, and soon that's going to become 3 (it has long been confirmed he's one of the main protagonists of Resident Evil 5; I say one of because it has the possibility of being a co-op game, which completely kicks ass by the way). ANYONE being able to survive a hell as that is pretty damn good, and Chris happens to still have a slight element of badass to him. If that's not enough, he took on and BEAT Alexia, someone who Albert Wesker, with his shiney new powers, ran away from like a wussy. |

Cecil Harvey, of Final Fantasy IV fame. For starters, he's opposed to his liege's tyrannical mission of conquest even before he throws off the mantle of Dark Knight, to the point of sacrificing everything for what he feels is right. Upon discovery that the Blade of Darkness will not avail him in the struggle against the evil that threatens his world, he casts it aside, and in a battle with his dark side claims the title of Paladin and sets about atoning for the atrocities he committed as a Dark Knight. Basically, he's the classic Redeemed Anti-Hero archetype, without the Redemption Equals Death that would normally accompany this, and he becomes the quintessential White Knight. Simple enough to see why I like him. |

Gordon Freeman. A solid combination of brain and brawn. Well, that brawn usually being advanced weaponry, the HEV suit, and the mighty crowbar. |

True, but I think if he didn't go around exhausting medical and ammo supplies at every checkpoint, the resistance would've had an easier time. ![]() As for my favorite hero it's a tie between Nathan Spencer, and Jospeh Gibson. Points to whoever can guess who both are. (Noblesse isn't allowed to guess. :P) There's no explanation I can give on why because to those who know who they are, they know why. xD |

I'll have to say either Dart Feld from Legend of dragoon, or if were also along wth heroines, Lenneth Valkyrie. Dart because he was more than just one of those "Regular folk who was destined to be a hero" types. They gave him a bit a human side to him, with how his life was and how he lived it out to the end. Lenneth Valkyrie would be my other choice because even though she was a goddess, she realized her faults in the end (If you get the A ending that is). She figures out that the people she recruits aren't the only ones with problems in their life. Also I picked both because they kick major butt n.n; |

Maya from Septerra Core. Good natured, stubborn, has a reason for flipping out on being hit on. (Namely her social class was targeted by slavers etc and had no real rights outside of their own city state) put people ahead of others and also took care of the other orphans where she was from. Good char who also wore armor that made logical sense >D (Halo note, Master Chief's Va voiced a character in this game named Gunner who got killed trying to help Maya. Guilty' s Spark's Va also did a role the Emperor of Gunner's nation and finally Captain Keys (the first one) Was the game's main villain and the dude who killed Gunner. They also stole some of the music staff too >.>) Also Johnson superior #$@#$#%% he kicks more ass than the Chief EVER WILL! |

OBJECTION! No one thinks of the fact that the Master Chief's Overshield could have kicked in to protect him long enough to get out! I think he's still alive, they're just too lazy to say. Though yes, Johnson does kick just as much ass as the chief did. |

Uh, you Did watch the whole ending for Halo 3, right? If not, then beat it again, and watch after the credits. I think it doesn't matter what difficulty. Then again, you might just be joking, too, but oh well. |

I meant that for Silinrul, actually. The Chief is very much alive. I'm curious as to what will happen when they crash land on that Sheild world that he and Cortana are headed towards after he goes into the stasis pod, but I get the feeling it'll be a while before there are follow ups for Halo. |

Zengar Zonvolt, the Sword that Cleaves Evil. A secondary character that upholds his name... Nothing more satisfying than seeing villains you hate simply being cut in half. >.> Also, the dog from Harvest Moon. He's just that cool. Master Chief never really impressed me that much. Does he actually have a name other than his rank? I've never been interested enough to check. |

My house mate has read the Halo books, and while I can't recall the Chief's name off hand, from the books it seems like there are some other Spartans that are actually quite a bit better than him. He's just the luckiest one of the bunch... except when I play as him. Then he eats a couple dozen plasma grenades before saving the world xD As for a favorite game hero... I dunno. Maybe the character from Shadow of the Colossus. It takes some big balls to take on creatures that could kill you with a flick of a finger using only a bow and a sword. |
