Okey dokey, so I'm redesignating this thread I made here to a Q&A section about my game, or if I feel there is really anything important to share, I'll state so here.

:P Not that it matters much to you guys proally, but I changed the game name. YES, that is my serious intention, the title you see.:)

Time update!

This game will have a new playing time.

It starts Saturday, November 1, at 16:00 EST

Also!

I know I told people the game was going to be an Exotic type, yes? (Integration of technology).

Well by the power invested in me as DM, I hearby revoke said declaration, and instead change it to surreal. ^_^ Sorry kids, but since you failed the campaign I DID set for you, I'm about to take things up a level with this new campaign.

I happen to have completed my own custom class. I was holding off on telling it before because it takes quite a bit of understanding of spells and the like to know just what it's about. Keeping a long-winded explination very short, it is a Battle Mage class: if you want to blend melee combat with endless spells, then this is one helluva class for you.

If any of my players be interested, contact me in some way and I shall send you the class blueprint.

Courtesy of Namillus on the site, we have found a maptool AND a dice roller all in one, that will allow DMs to see player rolls, all players to connect to a chat, and see tokens and stuff on an interactive map. Now, this is -not- the DnD insider one you may have heard of, and it is free as well. The downside is that it is a slight bit more complex probably than the other one will be...but, it's still free, and it works. =3

That being the case, I am not only suggesting it...I am REQUIRING all players in my game get this program by next session (not the one today, the one next saturday). If you don't have it, you're not getting in, case closed.

I'm thinking of running a tutorial myself someday in the near future, which will be discussed in today's session, but seeing as I'm learning this software myself, it will be limited at best.

Therefore, I suggest you start with this link:

http://rptools.net/doku.php?id=maptooldoc_1_1:intro

It gives a detailed tutorial on how to use things, as well as how to get it.

Also, while in the actual program, you can just type in "/help" and it too will give you a list of commands.

Now, as for updates that will actually happen, I have a few of them, and they will happen soon, likely within the next session.

1) Okay so this is where before I had explained the house-rule skill system, but that is no longer in effect. Standard skillz system is in place now.

2) Because of the fact that some spells, skills...or events in the game, may cost you experience, I going to start awarding experience on a person-to-person basis. In other words, I will tell you -individually- what you get. I will not, and I strongly urge you not to, share what your experience awards are with the rest of the group. The reason why is I do -not- award experience on an even basis, and the last thing I want is a player arguing with me about experience points.
Just in case said arguements do come up though, let me make this clear: I am the law, and I will award experience how I see fit, based on just what exactly your character does. If you continue to press me, I -will- hit you with an experience penalty instead of a gain.
Now, this doesn't mean I'm not open to debate. What I'm saying is I don't want to hear "Oh, it's not fair that he has that much experience and I only have this!" If you have a true, genuine case, as to why you think you should have more, then I'll hear you out. I still ask though that you accept the outcome, whether in your favor or not.

3) This system I've actually had in place since the beginning of the -conception- of my game, but apparently players are having some confusion about it, so I'm stating it here. When you gain enough experience to level, -YOU DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY LEVEL!- All you get right away are the additional hit points (chosen from the DMG, or I roll them for you), Base Attack Bonus, and Save Bonuses. You gain nothing else, period.
Now, in order to get your extra stuff like class abilities and the like, you -must- train for a period of 3 days by finding a trainer, paying him (variable prices via diplomacy), and training with him for those three days. You must train for 3 FULL days, where you actions consist of nothing else but said training (aside your character eating of course), and when the training is complete, you gain all other things you would from leveling.

Haven't exactly ironed out all the details to it yet, but there is a few important updates I need to note on the area of languages:

Put quite simply, you can call the languages given translucent films of languages we have in our real-life world today.

I'll give this as an example, as it is the only one I've decided on now.

English~Teclarn.

What this equates to, is that if your character is speaking Teclarn, if you wanted a basic 'feel' for the language, that is what it sounds like. This goes on more than just an audiable level though. Teclarn in this world happens to be similiar enough that on the off chance someone did actually speak English, they'd understand a lot of what was said. If anyone is familiar with the languages of Spanish and Italian, they might know what I mean in this.

To say this bluntly: Yes, real world languages can be found in my world; no, you may not choose to speak any of them, as they are very few and far between. I dont care if you have some backstory where you're a wandering clansmen from some tribe that spoke japane-no. No, no, and no again. No real world languages. They are here for flavor and -very- specific people, but anyone from this world would not really have them.

The languages presented, say Teclarn, Nertesen, etc, are similar in base to their real-life languages, but not enough that complex, specific ideas could be discussed on a detailed level (e.g., you cant go up to an english speaker and start talking the quantum theory of mechanics).

So, that in mind, here is the list:

(Updated when I has it straight myself)

Strewan~American (Native American)
Larstew~African (Various areas)
Nertesen~Spanish
Teclarn~English
Sewastan~Arabian (Middle East)
Astern~Russian
Restan~Oriental (Japan, Korean, etc)
