It has been a while since we have had a proper update, so I thought I would put something up to let everyone know that things /are/ still active around these parts. Lots of our members are renewing their accounts to PSU and there is plenty of RP going on! As far as forum news goes, there is not much-- things have been going smoothly, if not quietly. The biggest forum changes to come are likely the removal of some game boards that are simply cluttering up the forums. If you have any suggestions for boards to be deleted (or created), please let us know. Also of note, I would like to raise the possibility of backing up the character bios contained on these forums. Considering the current turns in the economy-- and the fact that Invisionfree completely disappeared for a day a month or so ago --it would make sense to have all of our important data backed up in case we ever need to move to a new site. Some feedback on this idea would be appreciated, as your characters are your property. Save for all the nouns in the bios that Sega owns. >.>; Now for events! There are a few in the works at the moment, namely a series of PSU events by Windy and the eventual continuation of the "Will of Man" plotline. Threads on these events should be going up soon, so please keep an eye out for them! Also, if you have any event ideas at all, be they IC or OOC (we haven't had a good party in long time!), please post them! Likewise, simply sharing the open plots you have going will spur more community activity. In terms of other games, we still seem to have a good amount of D&D activity going on, though I am not too sure on this one (Seikh?). Lastly... Do you guys think we should have a meeting sometime? It has been a while, and while I know of no pressing issues, it is nice to get everyone together sometimes. Speaking of which, please look into Sa's Teamspeak thread-- it is a wonderful little program, and the dedicated server is a nice boon. EDIT: Hako added in a little shoutbox at the bottom of the page. Please respond in this thread with your opinions on it! |

Aye for meeting We need to discuss password listings that we can't really post anywhere but need to give them to our VG members securily so we can visit each others rooms (cant give presents to locked rooms) And to discuss how to back up allllll that bio data (maybe make a back up forum) |

Well, we could have a list that only members can see for the passwords. And if I'm bored, maybe some day I can go to every thread and copy and paste it all. xP |

I think the meeting is a good idea. As for events... I do also have several events that I will put up at some point (now that the actual PSU events are over for now). Just got to translate them from the little notepad that I have to find (I seriously have a very hard time reading my handwriting (my print sucks, I can write cursive fine but no one can read it so I stopped). If I remember right, I've got little events for each day. Yes, check out the TeamSpeak thread. While it isn't ours to do whatever with, we still have permission to use it. Essentially, be polite and such. No spamming I would assume. Personally, I don't know how to back up the forum data. However, if we need to, I do have the free space to keep the back ups on my hard drives (my 1 TB is still going good, at 19%-ish free; also have other hard drives). With the passwords, we could possibly set up a Box.net or Esnips account for The Vanguard, and then have a text file with a list of room passwords (if needed, I could try and keep it updated). |

Well, I can't say I've been very active on PSU. Can't lie about it, but azide (yes, typo intentional) finals coming up rapidly, I seem to be distracting myself lately with other games.... and when Resident Evil 5 is out, you'll probably not catch me on at alll. Yah, sorry bout that.As for DnD.... yes, that's still going strong on the parts of the games already up. Unfortunately no one else has shown an interest in making a game for those else who might want to join one, and the DMs whom are already running games are constrained as it is sooo.... yeah. It's kinda sad, but we have too many players and too little DM's still. Heck, we even have a -free- program for playing now that includes maptools and dice rollers and everything... it's called maptools. Creative huh? You can find that probably somewhere in the DnD threads...somewhere... likely one of mine. Finally, I've been getting a good number of people interested in this one, many of which are from the Vanguard already, so I figure now would be the best time to say it formally. Anyone who likes multiplayer games, awesome! .... I mean, that's why you're here, right? On the Vanguard? Yeah... well, allows me to offer this one up: http://www.subspacedownloads.com/ This is a 2D, Multiplayer, Online, Top-Down Spaceship fighting game. It's really simple: you go flying around in your spaceship, and blow people up. Easy, simple, and amazingly fun I might add. Usually when I have time in between classes and I'm -not- doing work, you'll find me on this... keeping in mind, I dont actually play -that- often. I find it one of those games good to play for exactly that: short downtimes you have between other things. You -can- play it for hours on end I guess, but thar be games like PSU and stuff for that too. =3I'm actually saying this here because I've actually started a bit of a group on here so far, and I figured what better community to play together with than the one I already have? So anyhow, if you are interested, be sure to download the client (free stuff rox), and join the chat channel "hunters" under the server "Trench Wars". F1=help and controls while in game. Alternatively, you can come and try and shoot me down... it'll probably work. Blah. One last thing as other games go. A lot of people has been hasing interest in the Xbox, and other peoples gamertags and stuff like that. I always say that if you want a persons gamertag, you should just ask them or something... but it was nonetheless suggested to me that we have some sort of xbox subthread at minimum to talk about games, give gamertags... vahtevar. I just thought I'd throw this out there as one of those discussion itemz dontcha know? KAWMBAHT TAIM! |

I would actually love to hold a DnD game as I've had ideas for a good campaign but unfortunately I have a lot on my plate enough as it is with real life. Until it settles down and I find a good time to play then I'll be hold it. If anything, I wanted to hold my campaign on a Saturday as (with the exception of the past few weeks with weekend duty, moving, attending a family funeral, etc etc...) is the best day for me to do this. I however won't play in a DnD game and host one as I have time constraints just like anyone else, time I need to use for other things. I also can't hold it on the weekends because Friday and Saturday already have games and I won't ask people to spend hours on their Sunday in another. The days are tight for me. In fact, I won't be able to hold the final part of the Way of Penance event mini-series until two weeks from now when I actually have a Saturday that I'm not traveling, working, or whatever. |
