Those players whom had been in that very first game? Dramatic Title 1? Pull out those old character sheets... you'll need dems.Well, let's start with the basics for those who may want to come, and are new. I shant make no illusions about this game. For those of you who are familiar with the idea, this will be like playing PSO in Ultimate mode in the Seabed. In english, my game is -VERY- difficult. If you can get past that though, it can be every bit as fun, so long as you can see the value of a challenge. I'm going to lay out some guidelines for this game. Now note, these are guidelines. I'm -expecting- you to know most of this stuff when you come in the game, but I'll help you out if you forget a few... depending on how often you ask. Things you need to know are: -Core Rules and Mechanics; examples of this are attack rolls, damage rolls, skill checks, etc; pretty much things that include how to roll dice. <_< You can find most of these rules and such in the Player's Handbook. Now, for more lazy people, I happen to have a customized tutorial I give to people. It -still- requires reading, but a whole lot less. Please note though, it also does not tell you about spells, nor does it tell you some of the details you may, and probably will come across. Either way, as a player, you MUST have the PHb, pure and simple. This one book is central to all DnD playing. -My DnD style is 'Realism' DnD. I know for a fantasy game that sounds like an oxymoron, but it is perhaps the most descriptive nonetheless. I'm quite detail oriented, so micromanagement is a good idea. Aside from that, there is racism, sexism, and general unpleasant things to deal with of those sorts. -Money and treasure does -not- come as easy as breathing. You have to work for it, whether by having a job (see profession skill), going out of your way to discover treasure, and things of those like. Just as well though, remember that in the world, nothing is free, and this includes leveling up kids. The DMG p. 197 describes the biggest idea behind it, and I do use those costs, but instead of their time frame, I use the 1d4 days (shown on p. 194). -Probably one of the most important matters that I cannot stress enough: my game is -VERY- extreme. By extreme, I mean it is Rated R... borderline NC-17 (please note: I did -not- say rated X; in those cases I simply say what happens, but I bypass any of the roleplay because I will -not- abide cybering in my game). I'm not gonna lie. I -will- try to make you angry, disgust you, and generally make you feel disturbed. If you don't believe me on this, ask the players who are in the game... they can attest that I'm -not- kidding. I do this because I find it -greatly- enhances roleplay and victory value, so if you can handle it, then awesome. If you can't, this game isn't for you. -I -require- use of a program called Maptools. You can find it here: http://www.rptools.net/ This program basically allows me to not only generate maps when need be, but it provides an integrated dice roller so that I may monitor all things. - Character Generation: The setup of creating your character is a 32 Point Buy System for abilities (see ability score generation in the DMG). Your ECL, if just starting or recreating a character, will -not- be at party level because the party doesn't have even levels to begin with. You'll start out either at, or one below, the lowest character level. As HP go, you can use the average character progression (DMG), or you can let me roll for you, which is a bit of a gamble since you can end up with more or less than you might normally get. Starting gold I must personally determine, and it depends on your class and race, so you have to tell me your those first. Speaking of class and race, I am I'm usually quite lenient on what you can use. The only one I don't particularly want to see a whole lot of is things from setting-specific books. But for the most part, if you ask me about things and I look it over, I usually do not have problems. And finally as character generation goes, common does NOT exist. I'll list the languages under this. Well that's all for basics. Pantsu |

As stated above, Common does -NOT- exist. Don't put common down on your sheet, or you get no cookies. Languages are a bit special in my world, because they are seperated by region... see what I meant by Realism DnD? Each region corresponds with a different region of our own world. This is simply for flavor boys and girls. I don't really want my PC's trying to speak Japanese, so dont ask, kthnx. When you start off with a language, you choose one from the list below to replace common, and keep in mind that the one you choose is your home region. Because the DM is too lazy as of yet to post information about each region, simply IM him if you be curious about one (yes, he's talking about himself in the third person right now). Strewan~American (Native American) Larstew~African (Various areas) Nertesen~Spanish Teclarn~English Sewastan~Arabian (Middle East) Astern~Russian Restan~Oriental (Japan, Korean, etc) |

Okey dokeyz guys! This was suggested to me recently, and I found the idea brilliant! (*gives the person an oreo... you know who you are :3). The above posts sure has a lot of info on them no? They seem a bit overwhelming? At first glance I don't blame you. That's a lot to take in. So tell you what: I invite anyone who so wishes to join the game on one of our play days as an observer. Just let me know ahead of time, and I'll invite you in. Naturally, you'll need MSN messanger or access to it, and maptools from rptools.net. If you like what you see on game day and are interested in joining, hey, awesomtastic! If not, then thar's no obligation and all cash back within the 30 day warranty! :3 |

A small update: I'm going to be, starting saturday, implementing a reputation system. If you wanna know how it works, see Unearthed Arcana. Otherwise, I'll give a basic summary in the saturday pre-game briefing. |

New thing (not really): SIDE QUESTS! Anyone who's played games like Neverwinter Nights and stuff or other RPG's like it, you have a main story, and several side-quests you can pick up along the way to get rewards. Essentially, this -is- something new I'm picking up for my game. I havent made any big announcement for it because it is still characterly driven, but it's just another way you can get moneh or hiney things, right? On that note... I should correct this fallacy: dont keep going into an adventurer's guild thinking there will always be a job available. Sometimes you have to look for these quests, and sometimes they will find you. |

I are smart, eh? I never said once when the time is... Mind you, this is subject to change, entirely dependent on what college makes me do. 15:00-19:00 EST, Saturdays. I'm generally pretty good about telling my group changes in time, so this mainly helps only those interested in joining I guesses. |
