I don't get, or really like, what happens at ability score 0s. The physical ones are really good, and potray the meaning behind ability scores, but when they got to mental scores, it really feels like D&D went "Meh, creativity spent, let's make them all comas. >.>;;; " I just...find...it a dumb copout. ...well, ok, intellegence isn't too bad, but WIS and CHA feel very unfitting still :\ Here's what I think they should be: Int - Character cannot think at all and is rendered to the state of producing an empty gaze. Helpless. Wis - Character is incapable of aknowledging the environment and self's place to it. Falls unconcience and helpless. Cha - Character's able to think (if INT is still ok) and observe (if WIS is still ok), but regardless, is unable to envoke mental activities. Stunned by idle state, helpless. What do you think about the whole INT, WIS, CHA 0-score thing in D&D? |

For those of you who don't know, reference p. 290 of the 3.5 Dungeon Master Guide That said... I actually agree with their INT score explanation, a comatose stupor. Makes perfect sense. Charisma... eh, a little okay. I think they coulda done better. Charisma is force of personality, so losing yourself, the stupor part they have right at least... I'm inclined to agree though that their explanation for a WIS score of 0 makes for nightmares and sleep... what the hell? |
