They got some stuff on it over at PSO-World. Basically, it's slightly similar to the Community Course Mode from before, with a couple big differences:

1. You no longer have to pay $10 for a game key. You download the client and play for free from the get-go.

2. No level restrictions.

Really, the only downside is no access to your room. Though you will not have PM functions, you will -still- have storage through your common box, which can be accessed through NPCs. However, not a bad trade-off for completely free PSU. You still get all the new updates, clothes, and weapons, too. Of course, some of those are cash shop items, as PSU is really transitioning into a full F2P game.

Also, you can still upgrade to a Guardian's License, or switch back and forth as you wish.

It's a good way to get the game for free, I might consider this. Thanks for the heads up dude.

Free Course started today. You don't even need to go through the Captcha thing now-- you just make an account, get emailed your password, and play. Do -not- buy a CD key unless you want a Premium account! There's no need, otherwise.

Oh, lord. How long has it been once again. Are you folks still up and running here? I hope so, because I'm having some slight trouble on how to get this Free Course thing going.

Howdy! We're slow, but still here. There's a general guide for joining the JP servers here. The most useful part of the topic being the link to the PSUpedia guide.

Some things are outdated, such as you no longer need to pay anything. Just register and you're good to go.

I need to get back on... I think JP SEGA sent me an e-mail warning me about it.

Has anyone based level 35? I think that's where I stopped, but I did get my buffs to 41 (minus the PA Fragment purchases, as I don't have those yet.)

Hmm I would almost join ya but I was a sucker for Segac and I joined the Failbawks server ... where they complain about anything you do ... I shall make a list later! But yeah I started over once already I don't plan on doing it again but there is one thing that raises a question on my mind ... how do you translate stuff on that server? Is it shots in the dark and hoping you got the right thing you were looking for or... well yeah if someone could explain I'd be thankful!

My main is... level 38, I think? So I'd be good to party whenever, Sa. They've been having lots of events and mini-leveling-events in between.

As for translating, there's two ways-- one is using the translation tool mentioned in the stickied topics. It'll translate drops, mails, and Japanese player chat.

Of course, the majority of the game is in English-- just using Japanese letters.

Katakana is a Japanese alphabet used for foreign words. When you read the letters aloud, you'll be saying an English word.

For example, 'Metapolymer' is still 'Metapolymer' in the JP version. It will be written in Japanese letters, but if you pronounce those letters, you will be saying 'Metapolymer.' So, you don't need to learn a new language to play the game without a translator-- just a new alphabet. Japanese ABCs, pretty much.

Well then maybe we should be getting parties up then. Set days might help though, or just contacting on MSN or something.

As for that e-mail... Apparently there was some issue with a list of usernames and passwords or some such. They sent me a random password. Anyone else get that?
