I know of one other that is an actual guild but it isn't primarily roleplay, just has some roleplayers. |

On a new note, in regards to the beta, I've been hearing that each closed beta participant can invite up to 3 others. Been hearing it in chat in that Facebook group for a couple days. Anyway, anyone in the beta using a controller/game pad? I'm curious if/how the mapping works, as I personally didn't like PSU keyboard/mouse and would much rather not play PSO2 without a controller (way more intuitive for me.) |

I don't know that a gamepad would have enough buttons compared to PSU, but the WASD/Mouse input is very smooth, especially in Third-Person Shooter Mode. It seems like you really want the keyboard hotkeys, especially as a Force, just so you have enough attack/healing options (no longer are your Techs restricted by your equipped weapon!) |

Oh man... one of the things I liked about PSU was the Technics being linked to weapons. Allowed me to play very efficiently with my playstyle and a controller. I'm foreseeing that I'll be not doing so well in this one if it is more geared towards keyboard/mouse (main reason I moved away from typical MMORPGs, even all the free ones that I did like otherwise, like Sword of the New World; keyboard/mouse is just not intuitive to me for gameplay.) |

I like it this way. I can swing a staff around and shoot spells from it, or I can equip a Gunslash, get into melee, and still be able to drop Techs when needed instead of having to juggle weapons. I will say it feels very intuitive. |

Entirely depends on how well they do it. Haven't found a game I much care for with just keyboard/mouse, ended up playing Dungeons & Dragons Online with a controller even, (except obvious RTS games.) Since EVE Online also has a different gameplay style, it isn't as bad. But, even with being a PC gamer, I always have my wired Xbox 360 controller plugged in hahah. I guess I'm curious if it even supports a controller or if I will have to find a way to map it myself. |

On another note entirely, I despise Emergency Code: Arrest! "Yeah, let's make the player have to capture a bunch of enemies by fighting them and knocking them out, except they're not aggressive, flee faster than you can run if you're trying to hit them, and you fail if they get too far away! That sounds great!" |

Yeah it's kind of a pain. Though much easier with a launcher, that's for sure. |

News about the Pre-Open/Open Beta and pricing: http://bumped.org/psublog/phantasy-star-online-2-pre-open-beta-test-615-through-6162012/ Pre Open Beta Test Dates: 6/15/2012: 19:00 ~ 24:00 JST 6/16/2012: 19:00 ~ 24:00 JST Open Beta is ideally a week after that. If everything goes right... Aside from the fact that some stuff is gatcha based, the pricing seems pretty reasonable to me. Especially if you can just buy stuff on the player item shops too. There's even a set of stuff that is basically your "$15 per month" option. Edited by Valtea, Jun 8 2012, 10:15 PM.
