7:38 Shift change, Mr. arrives. Mrs. leaves. Mr. does some tweaking and fluffing of nest material, and an egg roll, prior to settling in.

Mr. brought in another stick this afternoon, sometime after 1:00. Mrs. left the nest, Mr. stood on the nest, and did settle down at some point to incubate. Viewers report that during the next hour or so, Mr. was crying softly and there may have been answering cries from nearby. He mantled over the egg at one point. Also someone saw a flyby (unidentified). Now, at 3:02, Mr. is standing on the nest, and quiet. Oops, as soon as I wrote that he starting calling vigorously and flew off the nest. Up to TLB, in a flurry, and took off with lots of calling. Cam is shaking.

Something was threatening Mr for a long while. Mr gave low soft cry and mantled the egg. He finally had enough and flew off the nest after the noise maker. We couldn't see what it was and Sandra believes the 1st picture to be Mr as he hovers to the branch.![]() Mr flew to TLB and then chased if off leaving the egg unattended.

I've reviewed the Video archives and there is NO confirmation as to what species was disturbing Mr. HBE. All that can be confirmed is that something was agitating him and based on behavior it was an aerial disturbance. In the past, crows, ravens, and other eagles have each caused such behavior. |
