What a day! And am I in pain! Back pain, from a bad bed! Oh well! I see, while I am eating my dinner, that there is a bag of questions for me about a very specific subject, for once. This is about the casting of the series. And so.......despite popular demand, here's some Q&A! First question: Of all the casting, which characters had been recast? There have been many. The ones which have been recast the most were Philomena Balducci and Adam Harper. Adam had been originated by Brett Claywell; and had been played subsequently by Kristoffer Polaha; Clark James Gable; Thom Bierdz; Peter Marc Jacobson and currently, Robert Kazinsky, who once played Dylan's first husband, Alex Corwin. Philo was originally played by Kaye Ballard, then she was played by Renee Taylor; then Mitzi McCall and now she is played by Ruth Buzzi. Second Question: I see there are a lot of characters played by actors from Downton Abbey and from the Big Brother franchise. Why have they come from those franchises, specifically? When I choose actors to play the roles, it is because I see them in the roles that they are slated to play. Big Brother is one of my favorite shows, as is Downton Abbey, and the actors came in from word of mouth. Third Question: What caused you to change Shelby Whitehead into such a shrew, and what caused Dylan and Sheila to become siblings? When I rebooted HF to the current incarnation, I wanted to start with a clean slate, but also I wanted to build it up gradually. I am going to answer this question in two parts. First, the Dylan/Sheila twin sibling story. When I first created them, I had written them as always extraordinarily close, more like siblings than cousins. It was when the Flashback stories came along that I decided that it would give some teeth to the background. It took time to build up (almost five years worth), but I wanted it to be done with some dignity and do it without it being very implausible. I wrote that Michelle was the twins parents (by another man, long before she married that louse Joe Wainwright. And this also ties into Shelby's change into a villain. Shelby played a nice woman, but her niceness was fake. She was very covetous and greedy. What made the change was Shelby kidnapping Dylan from his nursery. When the show was rebooted, so was Shelby, but she was dead and that made it easier to look back. As for now, I can write more later. My back is killing me, and after dinner, I am off to bed. Night everyone! Edited by AlbieGray689, Aug 23 2017, 09:02 AM.
