And the deaths keep marching along. We lost another actor from our show. Our sister show, Somerset, has lost one of its long-running actors. Ann Wedgeworth (Lahoma Lucas) has passed away at age 83. As a result of her death, it is perhaps going to be decided that Lahoma will be written off as having died. Of course, all this is hinged on Steve Ungrey's decision (as his scripts are a number of years behind HF). Most people remember her best as Merlene Eldridge, the wife of Dr. Harlan Eldridge, on the situation comedy, Evening Shade, which also starred Burt Reynolds. She worked for Linda Bloodworth-Thomason before as the good-natured but ditzy Bootsie Westchester on the soap satire, Filthy Rich. She also was on Three's Company for a time as Lana Shields, a woman who liked Jack Tripper but was lusted after by Ralph Furley (Don Knotts). As I said, there will be an episode that talks about Lahoma's death from the HF perspective, but it remains to be seen as how Steve will discuss the death of Lahoma from his end. RIP Ann Wedgeworth. |
