SINGLES MATCH
Brutus vs. Glen Jakobs

In a match which Brutus was barely involved in we saw Glen Jakobs dominate.. Coming out of the gate Glen hit a huge shoulder block on Brutus who looked bewildered by the moment. Glen proceeded to throw Brutus around like a ragdoll. First, hitting a vertical suplex, then continuing to toss Brutus around at one time throwing him into the corner and delivering a flurry of elbows that knocked the big man loopy.

Tossing Brutus into the turnbuckle again he followed it up with a running big boot which dropped Brutus face first into the ground.Glen then toyed with Brutus, hitting multiple german suplex to the big man, before dropping him on the back of his head with a release german. As Brutus stumbled to his feet he was met with a spear. Glen was just laughing at the broken big man at this point taunting him endlessly.

After a stalling sidewalk slam Glen looked out at the crowd motioning that it was over. With that he lifted Brutus into the air and his version of a sitout powerbomb (Hammerdrop) and picked up the easy one, two, three.

Winner via pinfall - Glen Jakobs (4:53)

GLORY CUP ROUND ONE
Shihai Megami vs. Fufu Hitachi

The GFP newcomer, Shihai Megami, absolutely stole the show on this night, defeating Fufu Hitachi in under three minutes! For the most part, the match seemed like a sparring session for Shihai as she hit him with move after move move. The first big blow of the match happened when Fufu went for a springboard crossbody, but Shihai stepped out of the way and caught Fufu with the “Sideswipe” running bicycle kick to the back of the head!

From that point on, Shihai simply toyed with Fufu, even letting him take a couple of swings at her which she ducked. Shihai finished the match off with the “Downsize” chop block, followed by her patent “Velvet Rope” koji clutch submission for the victory!

Winner via pinfall - Shihai Megami(2:45)

GLORY CUP ROUND ONE
Carey Caldwell vs. Mistress Vivi

For the most part, this match was all Mistress Vivi. Carey showed some life when Vivi went for a hurricanrana and Carey countered it into a turnbuckle powerbomb. Carey held control of the match for about a minute, but momentum swung back in Vivi’s favor when Carey went for a short-arm clothesline, and Vivi ducked it. Vivi hit Carey with the mongolian chop and followed up with a nice snapmare and kick to the spine… and another kick… and another kick.

From that point on it was all Vivi. She hit Carey with almost all of her trademark maneuver, showing that this match between the two was about more than just advancing to the round of sixteen. It was personal.

After Vivi hit the “Bow to your Mistress” dropkick to the knee, she put Carey away with her “Agonizing Ecstasy” submission, almost immediately tapping him out. Vivi held onto the hold hold for quite awhile after the match, only letting go when Carey was passed out. Vivi wiped her feet right next to Carey’s head and walked out of the ring with her head held high, happy that she put Carey away and advanced to the next round of the Glory Cup.

Winner via submission - Mistress Vivi (5:02)

GLORY CUP ROUND ONE
The Crimson Baroness vs Katsu Nakano

Lions Den Fighting Championship regular and GFP Junior Tag Team Champion - The Crimson Baroness - got inside of the ring to do battle with GFP Youngster - Katsu Nakano in this Glory Cup opening round match. Once the two competitors were in the Korakuen Hall’s sacred squared circle they went straight at one another. Katsu attempted to use his size to his advantage - he tried to use a lot of his strength but Baroness’ speed proved to be useful to her as she was able to avoid the slam attempts and land Bulldogs, Knee Strikes, and a Corner Dropkick of her own but the Youngster managed to stay in it showing some of that Japanese spirit while in a very difficult predicament!

Towards the middle of the math Katsu ended up catching TCB with a hard Dragon Suplex which didn’t get the win - but it did turn the tide of the match in his favor. Altering the bout into more of a slower pace. A good way of thinking when you’re bigger than your opponent.

Katsu implemented a number of powerslams into his strategy, he wanted to do anything he could to make an impression on the people who were watching his match.. Even catching TCB with a Pumphandle Slam - which he thought would be the end of the match and possibly a good win to his name but TCB was not going to give up! Katsu tried a big Spear towards the end of the match catching Baroness! Still, he wasn’t able to secure his chances at making history in GFP. The two continued to battle it out until Baroness reversed one of Katsu’s Suplex attempts and then hit Dom’ed! without warning getting the three count and moving on in the Glory Cup!

Winner via pinfall - The Crimson Baroness (7:32)

GLORY CUP ROUND ONE
Sho Kazuki vs. Drake Styles

The next match was a fast and furious bout between the two high fliers. Drake started off strong with a couple of arm drags. But it was Sho that took a commanding lead in the match with an Enziguri shortly thereafter. Sho continues to press the advantage, with a variety of suplexes including a belly to back, a double underhook suplex, then finishing off with a bridging German suplex for a quick two count.

Sho looked out at the crowd after his onslaught of offense with a wide smile on his face taking his attention away from Drake, allowing Drake to capitalize with a lariat turning Sho inside out. Taking control he hits a standing senton, a running elbow drop, and as Sho tried to get to his feet he hit a fameasser going for a cover of his own. Getting a long two count.

The two of them got to their feet exchanging forearms only for Sho to kick Drake in the knee and driving him head first into the mat with a spike ddt. Measuring Drake up he got up to one knee Sho hit a Shinning Wizard to his foe going for another cover. Getting another near fall.

Sho lifted Drake off the ground lifting him into position for a powerbomb into the turnbuckle but Drake snapped off a hurricanrana as a counter. Drake got up looking over at Sho ready to finish him off with his Sweet Nothings Superkick. As he went to land it Sho side stepped him and lifted him into the air in a powerbomb position quickly turning he tossed him into the corner causing his head to snap back before falling forward into a capture suplex. Waiting on him show prepared to finish off Drake charging at him but Drake countered with a pop up cutter floating over into a cover. Sho somehow managed to kick out of.it at the last possible moment.

The match flowed back and forth one more. With Drake locking in an inverted Stf for what seemed like forever before Sho finally somehow managed to reach the ropes, It looked like it was all over when Drake hit a double underhook piledriver. As he went into the cover he counted along with the ref but Sho kicked out once more. The frustration was clear on Drake face as he began to pull Sho up one last time to finish him off but Sho drops down hitting a dropkick to Drakes knee. Sho reached his feet quickly connected with his version of the superkick(warrior’s death) to a kneeling Drake, and fell into a cover. Three seconds later Sho had won the match and advanced in the Glory Cup.

Winner via pinfall - Sho Kazuki (9:31)

MAIN EVENT
Yuji Hirota vs. Merlot Ayano

Before the match began Merlot pointed out at the GFP Junior Heavyweight Championship, telling Yuji he was never going to get it.

At the beginning of the match the fans were clearly in Yuji’s favor as he came out swinging with some huge elbow strikes to the side of Merlot’s head sending her reeling back into the corner. After which he threw a shoot kick into the chest area of Merlot, causing her to grasp at it while gasping for air. Yuri charged the corner only to be met mid air with a flying reverse bulldog that drops him on the back of his head hard.

Merlot took control from there, using various angles and techniques to keep him off balanced. She started off by tossing Yuji over her head onto the back of his neck with a side Saito suplex. As soon as Yuji would get to his feet Merlot would strike from a different position, first with a 540 kick, then a series of shoot kicks that drove Yuji into the corner where she drilled him in the face with a devastating Yakuza kick that sent spit flying from Yuji’s mouth as he fell forward. Merlot continued to look for new angles of attack. As Yuji got to his feet he finally managed to avoid Merlot countering her clothesline attempt into a arm throw as he applied an arm lock in transition. The two wrestled for position on the ground for a bit. Finally. Merlot ended up getting to her feet but as she did Yuji pulled her into a belly to belly suplex. Taking over Yuji hit a variety of moves including his belly to belly suplex followed up by a brainbuster that left Merlot laid out in the middle of the ring. Going for a cover he hooked the near leg.

ONE!

TWO!

No, Merlot kicked out, as Yuji got to his feet he reached down grabbing Merlot by the hair lifting her into position for a death valley driver, only to have her kick and claw her way out and drive him into the ground with a straight jacket suplex. Merlot makes the cover herself.

ONE!

TWO!

No, Yuji kicks out this time, however the switch in momentum was clear as Merlot took control of the match once more. As Yuji got up onto all fours Merlot locked in a modified dragon sleeper. Yuji struggled for a while not able to escape the hold. However, what he was able to do was change his ring position inching ever closer to the ropes. After a solid couple of moments in the hold. As Yuji slowly began to get to his feet he’s met with an immediate Northern Lariat that drops him straight down to the canvas once more. Dropping down Merlot made the cover once more.

ONE!

TWO!

THRE--

No, Yuji managed to get his shoulder off the mat. Merlot wasted little time getting Yuji to his feet but with a burst of adrenaline he ducks under Merlot tossing her over his head with an exploder suplex that he calls the Dynamo Ultra. Both competitors are stunned, as they lay motionless on the mat for a moment. They both began to stir on the mat as the referee began his count.

ONE!

TWO!

THREE!

FOUR!

Yuji reached one knee stopping the count as Merlot stumbled forward Yuji exploded into a death valley driver that left both of them dazed once more. This time the referee barely got to a two count before Yuji draped his arm over Merlot’s body for the cover.

ONE!

TWO!

Thre…. NO.

Once more Merlot found a way to kick out of a devastating maneuver from Yuji. Again the two of them struggled to get to their feet. Reaching their feet at the same time though they began to trade forearm shots. Back and forth then went. Each of them getting staggered at different points. Finally, Merlot began to reign in shots eventually Yuji back away she readied herself to punt Yuji in the skull. She charged in as fast as she could but Yuji sprung up to his feet and hit Deus Ex Machina (Uranage slam) on her out of nowhere. He dropped down into a cover hooking both of her legs.

ONE!

TWO!

THREE!

The bell rang, as Yuji stayed in a seated position for a few moments. After he got to his feet Yuji went over to the turnbuckle ascending to the middle rope he pointed out at the GFP Junior Heavyweight championship, and then motioned around his waist.

Winner via pinfall - Yui Hirota (15:13)
