Jackson Magnum

We go backstage where Jackson is packing up his gear, as the camera catches up to him. He looks at it shaking his head no looking over his shoulder at the camera, but the cameraman ignores him continue to shot the feed of Jackson who is clearly disgruntled. Jackson takes a moment throwing his gear into his backs, before putting his sunglasses on

JACKSON MAGNUM: Guess ye want me thoughts, Okay I blew et, I had anudder horrid night out there en thee ring, and suck en front ov thee whole world.

Jackson puts his head down as he cameraman zooms in.

CAMERAMAN: You were tied for the most elimination though, it couldn’t have been that bad of a performance.

The cameraman asks almost in an inquisitive way.

JACKSON MAGNUM: Yeah, lot ov good et did me. Here’s wat I know. Tristan Martinez, Michael Alexander, and Kehlani Ray were a feck ov a lot closer ta winning thee Rumble tan me. I also know I’ve yet ta hafe one decent performance tat actually amounted ta feck all. Flat out en HKW, I’ve been nuffin but a complete failure. Won four matches en like a fecking year, one ov those I intentionally tried ta lose. Maybe, they’re right, maybe I can’t make et here. HKW might be ta talented fer me, clearly yer fans, yer wrestlers, and yer commentators tink as much. All I know is I hafe an MMA fight ta train fer, at least I seem good at tat.

With that Jackson puts his head down and makes his way out the locker room door, before slamming the door shut behind him.

HKW House of Pain interviewer Bryant Gordan is seen walking backstage.

BRYANT GORDAN: Hello everybody, I'm about to get a word with Raven Apollyon, following her interesting encounter with Cyncity earlier in the evening.

Bryant jogs to Raven and Big Brother, who appear to have been on their way out.

BRYANT GORDAN: Raven, excuse me.

The Defiance wrestler stops, along with her masked friend. She turns toward Bryant with a sigh.

RAVEN APOLLYON: What?

BRYANT GORDAN: I just wanted to get a word with you regarding your confrontation with the newly returned Cyncity.

Apollyon grins and nods.

RAVEN APOLLYON: Of course you do.

She steps closer to the interviewer, as Big Brother watches from behind.

RAVEN APOLLYON: Here's a word regarding 'Cyncity' - overrated. You want some more? Hack. Selfish. Ignorant. False idol - that's two. There are many words that can be used when talking about Cindy Parker.

BRYANT GORDAN: Well, it's clear you've got a problem with Cyncity. I'm not sure why, exactly, but more impo--

RAVEN APOLLYON: Oh no, no no no no no. Don't slide that in there and then brush passed it. You're not sure why I have a problem with Cindy? I'll tell you exactly why I do. Why is Cindy famous? Because of people more talented than her. She was married to Brandon Banks, she was Cordy Stevenson's partner. She's not talented. She doesn't deserve all of this praise she gets. She began wrestling in 2013 and retired only three years later. Somehow, wrestling for three years and then calling it quits makes her a star? She comes out of retirement in HKW and she gets this huge reaction. So many happy faces and so much cheering for this unicorns and rainbows bullshitter. She doesn't deserve any of the recognition she gets. I've worked my ass off consistently for four years. I never had a tag team partner or famous husband to help make a name for me. I fought, by myself, in bingo halls and gyms, for four years before I was even given a fucking opportunity to work for a company like HKW. I love wrestling. I love getting in the ring and beating the hell out of my opponents. She loves the attention that she didn't earn. That's my problem with Cindy.

Raven thinks over it for a brief second.

RAVEN APOLLYON: Well, that and she's just fucking annoying.

BRYANT GORDAN: Alright, so you dislike Cyncity and those are your reasons, but what I wanted to know was did you get the match made? Will we be seeing Cyncity versus Raven Apollyon at Defiance 51?

RAVEN APOLLYON: Oh, of course. There was no way I was gonna let the opportunity to bash her annoying little face in get away from me. The match is happening and I'm gonna win it. She may not have been able to steal a hardworking wrestler's spot, that they earned, in the Rumble To Destiny, but she gets the privilege of getting her fucking head caved in, courtesy of my knee. Let's see how many of her 'fans' still love her when those pretty looks are smashed away.

Raven flashes a sarcastic smile at Bryant and turns around, walking off with Big Brother. Gordan faces the camera.

BRYANT GORDAN: Raven Apollyon, ladies and gentlemen.

Following an exciting Rumble To Destiny, cameras follow Kai as he walks through the curtains following his elimination. The cold, stoic veneer that Kai has always worn is all but stripped away and in it's place the look of a shaken man, one who placed all the expectation of the world on his shoulders and came up short. Placing a shaking hand against a nearby wall, Kai stares at the ground as he tries to absorb this, dead to the world around him as several eliminated competitors pass him by. After what seems like several long minutes he finally begins to move, reaching his hand up to rip the bindings around his arms away as he moves to walk towards the locker room. The camera man, either not getting or out right ignoring the "stay away" body language of the man, begins to follow after.

CAMERA MAN: Kai, a tough loss out there tonight in the rumble. But all in all you put on a very performance, lasting nearly 15 minutes and tying for most eliminations -

A deep, bitter laugh erupts from Kai's chest, cutting the camera man off as Kai rips the tape from his arms.

KAI: And that's supposed to placate me? I fall short again... a trend that's become a decade long running joke at my expense and been magnified since coming here, but the fact that I tied for most eliminations is supposed to be a nice little consolation prize? Something to take away the sting of failing, all the while I'm watch my peers lap me again and again in a never-bloody-ending game of catch up that I've fallen so far behind in? I made one mistake in taking my eyes off of Kane... a mistake at this point in my career I shouldn't have made, and once again I'm on the outside looking in. Just like last year, just like every single year before for the last 10 years when I've had the chance to finally - finally - escape the notion of being a tier lower than I should be, only to have it yanked from me and everything I've worked for, that I've suffered and scarified for, mean absolutely NOTHING in the long run.

The camera man audibly gulps as Kai fully turns to look at him, emerald green eyes wide and burning brightly with a white hot fury as it seems like his frustrations are starting to show. Every ounce of anguish and disappointment, bottled up and kept hidden carefully beneath the cold exterior for so long has come bubbling up to the surface and spilling over.

KAI: But I guess I can rest easy because despite being my own worst enemy two events in a row and having been kicked back down the mountain again, I put on a "very good" performance.

The camera man took a step back, caught off guard by the venom in Kai's voice as he began to sputter and stumble, trying to come up with a response.

CAMERA MAN: B-but... you did good out there... b-better than...

Jamming the tape into a nearby trash can, Kai takes a shuddering breath as he tries to calm down. Tries to reign in the feelings of desperation and despair settling in the pit of his stomach. His long, raven colored hair covers his face as he looks down once more.

KAI: It's not enough... not for me.

The tone was somber, sounding out of place for the self proclaimed "Bird Of Hermes" as he turns away from The camera.

KAI: ...I'm done here. Find another angry young competitor to get your sound byte from.

Kai makes the long walk to his locker room, disappearing from view as the camera fades out.

BRYANT GORDAN: Hey, Hunter! Hunter, hold up for a second.

Bryant see's former Hybrid Champion, Hunter Werth walking down the hallway with his bag over his shoulder heading for the exit. He tries to flag down Hunter, but Hunter doesn't appear to hear him.

BRYANT GORDAN: Hunter! I was hoping I could get a quote from you after this years big Rumble to Destiny match.

Bryant continues to chase him down as Hunter shows no signs of stopping as he's getting closer to the door now.

BRYANT GORDAN: Hunter! Can you not hear me?

As Bryant gets about three feet from Hunter, Hunter swings around at him and his bag slams into Bryant's wrist. He holds it for a second.

HUNTER WERTH: What?! Damn Bryant, can't you see I'm trying to avoid you. That maybe, just maybe for once I just want to walk out this door and not say a damn thing about this terrible, terrible night?

Hunter looks down at Bryant's hand holding onto his wrist as he winces in pain.

BRYANT GORDAN: Damn Hunter, what do you have in there bricks? I was only trying to do my job man. Sorry for being such a 'nuisance'.

Hunter looks down seeing the damage he caused in his anger, no matter how small. He sighs.

HUNTER WERTH: I'm really sorry Bryant. It's not your fault man. I didn't mean to take it out on you. Damn...

Hunter shakes his head.

HUNTER WERTH: Go ahead, ask me anything. I owe it to you.

BRYANT GORDAN: It's okay Hunter. I was going to ask your thoughts on your performance tonight. But obviously, I have my answer. Go cool off man, I understand.

HUNTER WERTH: I'm just putting myself under a lot of pressure man. I want to do well, but it seems like either my injury is somehow taking it's toll on my mind even if my body is fine... or the other option...

Hunter slaps his hand on Bryant's shoulder.

HUNTER WERTH: Maybe I'm not that great a wrestler. Either way... I need to just get out of here for tonight and get back to Subversion. See where the road takes me... Sorry again man.

Hunter turns around now pushing on the breaker bar to the door as it swings open and Hunter makes his way out of it.

Ashley Sullivan

Ashley's legs felt as if they were made of jello, feeling like her knees would give out on her at any second, as she walked along the entrance way to head back to the curtain. Hearing the cheering of the fans still echoing loudly after her victory to win the 2016 Rumble to Destiny, Ashley turned back around to face the ring. Instead of looking into the ring where she had just secured a title shot at Destiny, her gaze turned upward to the height of the arena's ceiling. By then, she could not surpress the feeling any longer and tears streamed down her cheeks as she lifted a couple of fingers to her lips before raising the hand in the air to point upward.

Pulling back her sweat drenched hair, Ashley staggered back on shaky legs and turned back to walk through the curtain where HKW Interviewer Bryant Gordan was there waiting for her as soon as she left the arena.

BRYANT GORDAN: Ashley... Just now with your winning of the Rumble to Destiny, you've secured a title shot on HKW's biggest stage. Can you just tell me and everyone else watching at home how you're feeling right now.

Ashley pauses to stare at Bryant for a long moment with her face a mixture of tears and sweat. She looks back over her shoulder to the curtain she just walked through, the ring and arena beyond, wiping at her short sweaty hair.

ASHLEY SULLIVAN: I... don't know how I'm feeling right now. That's not some kind of cop out or anything. It's just... I still can't believe it myself. Three years... three damn years... I've been doing this. I started right here in HKW. I was a nothing that was lucky enough to get training from my family. Brandon Banks gave me a shot and the long road started from there. His sister, Felicity, we became best of friends and formed Descent to become HKW's first tag team champions.

Ashley stops again, overcome with emotion as she thinks about her friendship with Felicity and how the end of the Rumble came down to just the two of them, wiping at her eyes.

ASHLEY SULLIVAN: The whole road since then has lead me here, to this shot at the Global Championship. And that's what I'll be going for. I'm on Subversion now and I'll be representing the blue brand with pride. I should be jumping for joy now should I? I should be so damn happy that the past three years of working and upping my game each and every time that I've went out there have come to this, that I'm finally on this level in the company that I first broke into when I was a little rat fresh out of high school. But to get to this point, I had to crush the dream of my best friend, the woman that's had my back ever since I started doing this.

Ashley starts to straighten, taking in a deep as the brief break from the ring has given her a bit of energy.

ASHLEY SULLIVAN: If there's anything that I've learned over the last three years, friendships have to take a break the moment that bell rings. I couldn't think of Fel as my best friend. I know if I did, I would've hesitated on trying to beat her, I would've felt bad for taking from her a shot at the World Championship that she's wanted to get back for so long. And if I would've done that, what would have I been doing this for at all? If I'm content with just being down at the bottom instead of the top like her, then why am I even doing this at all. So I had to push those personal feelings aside and do just like she would've done. Now that it's all done and the bell's finally rung, I just hope she can forgive me for what I just had to do out there so that I could finally take my spot in the HKW record books. Not just as the 2016 Rumble to Destiny winner but as one of the privileged few to hold the Global Championship. Once I do that, I'll be the second person to achieve an HKW triple crown. The only other one to do that was the woman I just had to eliminate.

Ashley stops again, her breathing back to being more steady now that her body as had time to recover though the raw emotion on her face is still clearly evident.

ASHLEY SULLIVAN: Now I need to have some time to process this all. It's all a hell of a lot to take in and it's just now happened.

With a tired and weary nod, Ashley walks off camera before the shot fades out.

Shane Atwater

EARLIER TONIGHT

Blood.

It spattered the floor of the locker room, stained one of the door handles. A few of the trainers were spattered with it. That ugly, dark color that comes when a cut goes particularly deep, to less crimson stains as we pan up to the trainer’s table, and the source of all the bloodstains:

The former HKW World Champion, Shane Atwater.

The trainers are buzzing around the former champion, even as he’s trying his damnedest to make their job miserable, struggling and trying to force his way to his feet. Most of the blood has started to dry, leaving a thick, ugly crimson mask on Atwater’s face that is only now beginning to be wiped away. The cut in his forehead is deep, the wound a nasty one...the result of Lance Winters driving a camera directly into his forehead with every ounce of force he could muster. The glass shattered, and dug deep. Even though it had been discarded, he could still feel it in his head, every time his heart pumped, that throbbing ache coursed through his brain. The Reapers had battered him, beaten him down, and Lance Winters had tried to strike the killing blow.

Lance Winters had screwed him again.

Shane lurched to his feet then, trying to shove his way past the trainers and out the door.

SHANE ATWATER: Motherfucker---Not going to take...this away from me---

Trainers and road agents grabbed him. Bulling him backwards toward the table, trying to reassure him, to tell him to stay down, that he wasn’t fit to compete. Shane’s only response was to start throwing elbows, trying to toss them aside, get out of the room. He still had time. If he could just get to the ring...

SHANE ATWATER: MOVE. I have to get down there. I have to...fucking...Get out of the fucking way! I have...I have to...

As he forced his way to the door, everything went sideways. That throbbing pain suddenly stabbed at him, vision going white, then red, then dark, He could feel himself stagger, hit the door frame, crashing to a knee. He fumbled, trying to force himself upright.

SHANE ATWATER: I have to...My fucking chance...I have to.

He struggled back up, before his legs gave out again. Trainers rushing to help him back to the trainer’s table, as everything went black.

NINA STOKES: Before the rumble, I threw out a statistic. One Nina, thirty-nine others, a two point six percent chance of victory.

The camera fades in as Nina Stokes is walking the length of the parking lot.

NINA STOKES: Now, I’m not going to sit around and give you all some bullshit excuse; my name aint Michael Alexander.

She lets out a half-hearted laugh.

NINA STOKES: Like thirty-nine other members of the roster, I didn’t get the job done tonight. No buts, no sob stories—I didn’t get it done.

She nods.

NINA STOKES: Now, back in the day, I would have harped on that rumble for weeks and weeks. But those days are longer over. Harping and beating myself won’t solve shit, nor will it change shit. So, like those thirty-nine others, I’m going to dust myself and keep moving.

She holds up her finger.

NINA STOKES: Ha, during my tenure in the match, at least I was able to answer that fateful question that’s been on Lola J and John Blade’s minds—no, you couldn’t defeat Nina.

She walked along in silence for a moment.

NINA STOKES: Tonight, everyone was afforded an amazing opportunity, a chance of a lifetime. And sometimes, when a shot at the top championship is at stake, people lose their focus. However, my focus is stead-fast. I have to keep perspective. Regardless of what happened tonight, I am still the Hard Knux Wrestling Lionheart Champion. And, I’ve just named the next contender.

She nods.

NINA STOKES: For the next few weeks, my main focus will be to prepare for that match. Now, I’ll be honest for a moment. I did name Michael as the contender for somewhat of a selfish reason. He’s been talking a lot of shit—a lot of shit that I know he can’t back up. So, instead of taking the coward's way and popping shots off behind a keyboard, I’ve decided to confront him directly, in the center of that ring.

She’s silent for a moment.

NINA STOKES: Earlier this year, I earned the mid-season Indy-Darling award. The fans may not like my attitude all the time, but they cannot deny my talent...and neither can my peers. Michael, Nina Stokes is anything but hype. That notion will be ingrained into your mind after Decay—believe that.

Nina finally reaches her rental SUV. The shot lingers on her as she opens the door. Then, it fades out.

Brian Stryker

Backstage, Brian Stryker is getting examined by a doctor. He has Brian's knee up and is checking it for any serious damage. The past week, Stryker was attacked backstage at a CCP show and had a crate slammed into his knee. Doctors advised him not to compete in the rumble tonight but he did anyway. While he did not last long, he was proud of it, competing on one leg.

Doctor: That was a stupid thing to do you know. Going out there when you really only have one good leg.

Brian rolled his eyes heavily at the medic.

Stryker: You should see what people say bout me on the internet. They probably agree with you. But when was the last time I actually listened to a doctor's advice?

Doctor: Well you should be. You'll be lucky to avoid serious ligament damage and potential joint damage itself if you keep this up. You want to be able to walk on your own two feet don't you?

Brian just scoffs as he shakes his head.

Stryker: People give me enough shit as it is. I'm not giving them another bullet. The last thing I need is to hear people say I'm sitting at home cause I'm a broken man. I'd rather not walk when I'm then deal with that. You think Sullivan would have wasted this chance? Even if I didn't win I had to at least try.

The doctor sighs as he takes out a syringe with a long needle and sticks it into Brian's knee, slowly draining some excess fluid.

Doctor: You're not even 30 years old yet and yet you have the body of a man 10 years older. You're in for a world of pain when you finally give this up.

Stryker: That's the plan.

The doctor removes the needle and starts wrapping Brian's knee up. He gets to his feet as Brian lifts his knee down, slowly bending it as he puts the small knee brace back on.

Doctor: One of these days you're gonna end up crippled. And you'll only have your reckless behavior to blame.

Brian glares at the doctor as he stands up, bending his knee lightly to get some blood flow to the joint. He grabs his things and goes to walk away, but stops for the moment.

Stryker: I won't give them the satisfaction of that.

Doctor: Well you have a goddamn child!

This made Brian stop cold in his tracks.

Doctor: Do you want that kid to grow up not being able to play with his own father cause he can't get on his feet because his legs are so fucked up they are beyond repair? Do you not want to be able to stand at his wedding? Dance with your wife at your anniversary? What's more important? This fucking job or your family?

Brian turns around and marches up to the doctor. Getting in his face, almost going nose to nose.

Stryker: Don't you EVER say that I care about this job more than my family. You don't know what the fuck I do. This is all I can do. I have a fucking GED for Christs. I dropped out of high school and been wrestling ever since. This is all I know to do. This is the only way I can make enough money to make sure that if ANYTHING happens to me, they are secured for the rest of their life. So save your goddamn doctor speech for someone else. I love my family more than anything. But wrestling is my life. It's my blood. It's all people will remember me for. And if I have to sacrifice it all, then so be it. Cause I'm not slowing down. And there's nothing a goddamn doctor will do about it.

Brian backs up a few before storming off in an angry huff, limping his way down the hall.

Following the conclusion of #RTD3 cameras caught Ryan Lecavalier already headed for the parking lot, with a towel in her hands and a gym bag over her shoulder, Ryan appeared to be walking somewhat alert, as headphones blocked the rest of the world out or so he thought. She was obviously looking to get out of the Bridgestone Arena, but before she could get anything close to that, the cameras were on her and somewhere was quickly approaching.

BRYANT GORDAN: Ryan, can we get your thoughts on the Rumble?

RYAN LECAVALIER: No comment.

Ryan continued to walk as Bryant followed, slightly jogging due to the pace Ryan kept.

BRYANT GORDAN: As a former participant for the Gold Ring at Divine Supremacy. Care to comment on Fowler’s lost to Keaton in the inaugural Interbrand Television Championship match?

RYAN LECAVALIER: No comment.

Bryant raised an eyebrow a second with a bit of a confused look on his face.

BRYANT GORDAN: Coming up short in The Rumble, do you have an opinion on what could be next for you?

She stopped just as Bryant finished his sentence. She looked into his eyes with a dead look in her eyes, while she shifted her bag from one arm to another, and then she pulled down her headphones.

RYAN LECAVALIER: You want my opinion?

Bryant nodded because that’s exactly what he wanted, at the same time Ryan’s voice jarred him.

BRYANT GORDAN: …yeah…

Ryan closed her eyes for a second, and then began speaking.

RYAN LECAVALIER: I’m on a losing streak. I’ve let opportunity slip through my fingers once before – and here I am empty handed – yet again. I can’t even pat myself on the back for the effort. When I signed onto HKW I knew that it was an uphill battle. I even made up my mind that I was going to make this work, at all cost. I lost at Divine Supremacy. I lost tonight, and who knows I might lose on any of the episodes of Subversion upcoming. Throughout everything I’ve been through, I’ve shown perseverance, integrity and the courage to take what I do and what I end up with. Now…I’ve seen the error of my ways.

She sighed and looked down formulating her words before letting them go any further.

RYAN LECAVALIER: Every person I’ve taken on here in HKW is a part of a larger message. Tonight, I got it loud and clear. The message at first was garbled and I couldn’t even understand it. It was a foreign language, I couldn’t understand. It got clearer when Fowler robbed me of an opportunity that I should've had here tonight, and during those four minutes that I participated in the Rumble under those bright lights, it became so clear that I saw it written on each and every one of their faces: I don’t belong here. I never have—

She gave a blank look at Bryant while she slipped her headphones back on.

BRYANT GORDAN: Um, can you elaborate on that a bit?

Ryan wasted little time walking away as Bryant held the microphone up trying to get her to further comment. The Camera shifted in Ryan’s direction, as he headed towards the parking lot, and the camera faded to black.
