The scene opens up backstage to show Cali Lane, standing backstage holding up her Iphone in her hand. Her eyes seemed to be glued to the screen as she watches the earlier words of her former partner, and pretty easy to say former “best friend”, Caitlin Bellamy. ”I’m gonna show why Cali belongs with the rest of the rejects who can’t hack it in HKW. Me? This is my evolution into the star I always knew I would be. Get used to this pretty little face. Cause you’re gonna be seeing it alot more often..” Cali shakes her head before closing her phone, sliding it back in her pocket. As she looks up, she see’s that she’s met by Tiffany Jay, standing before her with a look of sympathy. Cali looks back at her, an emotionless look across her face. TIFFANY JAY: Ladies and Gentlemen I’m standing here with former member of Team Adorable, Cali Lane. Cali, tonight we saw...the ultimate betrayal that nobody really saw coming. Your best friend… Cali looks up, shaking her head before quickly correcting her. CALI LANE: “Former..” Tiffany looks at her, before nodding her head. TIFFANY JAY: Yeah...former best friend..and tag team partner Caitlin Bellamy viciously attacked you earlier this evening after you and her lost another match. She not only viciously attacked you...but had some pretty strong words for you this evening as well….as you just saw. How do you feel about everything now that you’ve had time to process? Cali looks down at her shoes, before looking up to Tiffany. CALI LANE: Honestly… Cali says, shrugging her shoulders. CALI LANE: Caitlin was right about somethings she had to say tonight. Tiffany looks at her, before Cali looks back at her. CALI LANE: Was Team Adorable looked at as a joke? Absolutely. Did we have nothing to show for it? Of course. Did we not act as a team? I’m pretty sure everyone can say we didn’t act as a team. Truth is...I’m partially responsible for it. I’ll own up to that and admit that. Was I as good of a partner as I should have been? No. I could have been better. I should have been better…. She says before looking up, shaking her head. CALI LANE: The passion was lost. The drive was gone. We weren’t on the same page. We weren’t on the same speed. Is that soley MY fault? Not. At. All. Tiffany looks at Cali, who stands there crossing her arms over her chest. CALI LANE: I’m woman enough to say I messed up. I’m woman enough to say I didn’t communicate as well as I should have for a team, but is Caitlin the same? No. Tonight just proved she NEEDED me to even make herself look big and bad….just like she needed Team Adorable to even MAKE it in HKW. She says looking at Tiffany, shrugging her shoulders. CALI LANE: Do you honestly think people would pay attention to little Bellamy alone? She couldn’t even get the focus in AIR without Cali Lane as she liked to point out earlier tonight. She NEEDS me and she knows it. Her attacking me tonight was nothing more than a child throwing a tantrum because she didn’t get her way. She wants to be the star and in the spotlight? That’s fine by me… She says before nodding her head. CALI LANE: She can have her spotlight...she can have her tantrums...and she can have her attitude. But if she for one second thinks I’m done with her? She has another thing coming to her. It’s one thing to end a partnership and friendship, but to full out long con me like it kinda seems like she did? That’s another. Cali says, looking at the camera’s. CALI LANE: I came into this sport knowing full well that people turn on each other. I was never ignorant to that fact. I didn’t think Caitlin would be that type...but her true colors showed tonight. The entire world saw Caitlin for what she really is. I’m not the type to cry about it and beg for her forgiveness, so if she’s expecting that? She will be waiting a long while… But what she will be getting is what’s coming to her. Revenge is sweet, and I certainly will have mine. The minds of others and the tears of the children of the audience should be the least of your concerns Caitlin...because you seem to be forgetting one simple thing. You trained with me. We learned together. I know you probably better than you know yourself. And you may think you have tricks up your sleeve...but you and the entire world haven’t seen the capability of Cali Lane yet because she was too busy trying to like your matching t shirt too much. Tiffany snickers, before looking at Cali in shock. TIFFANY JAY: That seems like a warning for Caitlin… CALI LANE: She can take it how she sees fit...I’m just saying that there are changes coming to Subversion. Team Adorable is dead and gone and thank god for that. I don’t have to pretend to be this thing that I’m not. I don’t have to be afraid to have my voice and say what I feel and mean. I don’t have to try and hold back my temper when someone says something stupid. And most importantly...I don’t have to try and make myself look like this fearful creature when we all know that deep deep down, there’s nothing to be afraid of, like some people… Cali says before biting her lip. CALI LANE: I’m taking this attack and separation as a lesson learned. It’s time for people to see us as individuals and not as a team to try and get smiles from the crowd. And pretty soon? They will definitely see the difference between Caitlin and myself… Cali says to Tiffany, before walking off the scene... |

After a night of HKW action, the cameras fade in backstage. Seated alone in the women’s locker is Nina Stokes. As she spots the camera crew approaching she lifts her head and looks directly into the lens. NINA STOKES: Tonight, I’m going to do something that I don’t normally do. Michael Alexander—congratulations. Nina raises her hands and gives a small clap. While it was a sincere clap, she assumed it would be taken sarcastically—so be it. NINA STOKES: Unlike you’ve done multiple times, I’m not going to sit here and make any excuses. You didn’t catch me slippin’, nor was I having an off night. Nope nope, you pinned me in the center of the ring. She pauses for a second. NINA STOKES: I’m a great wrestler. You can label that arrogance or confidence, whichever you prefer. And you know what? Sometimes great wrestlers lose; that something HKW has taught me very well. She nods. NINA STOKES: Now Michael, I know you are on Cloud Nine right now. You’re feeling good. You feel as if this match at Decay is a lock, right? A wicked smirk comes to her face. NINA STOKES: Michael, I highly suggest that you come back down to earth, because now the hard part begins. The criticism, the pressure, the stress—it’s going to start bombarding you very shortly. She nods once again. NINA STOKES: You are feeling amazing right now, but in a little bit, reality will set in my dude. And when it does, it’s going to scare the shit out of you. You’re to remember that this match at Decay will be one-on-one; there will be no tag team partners, no confusion, no fray. And hell, you won’t even have the luxury and privilege of standard rules. The beauty of a Lionheart Rules match is, well, there aren’t many rules. And as history has proven, I thrive in those situations. Nina stands up to her feet and cracks her neck just a bit. NINA STOKES: Will you rise to the occussion at Decay; will you strike lightning in bottle twice? Or, will you crack under pressure? Her smirk returns. NINA STOKES: The odds are in favor of the latter. However, you can be sure of one thing, Michael—I won’t crack, nor will I break. I’ve been through too much shit in HKW, too much shit in my career, to simply fold up. I told you all that I’ve got major plans for the Lionheart Championship, for the Lionheart Division—and, I won’t be stopped...not now. As she concludes, the camera slowly fades out. |

Womp, womp.

It hurts to lose. Sophie's friends with the pain, having lost her fair share of important matches. As a matter of fact, she has only won two out of the many she had been in. She lost in the GO Briefcase match. She lost in All or Nothing. She lost at Crowned Royalty. She lost in GPW and that is what ended her up at the point she's at now. She's what they would call a loser. But she was one that got lucky and had a championship because of it. Yet, tonight, she didn't feel like a champion. Sure, she came off her title win with a win over Ace Watson, but it was what came after that hurt. She had a crappy performance in the Rumble 2 Destiny. Then tonight, Lady Magdalena was able to rectify her previous "loss" to Sophie. And she did it soundly. Sophie got a few moves in. She had Magdalena on the ropes when it came to raw strength. Magdalena's kicks hurt worse than most boxers' punches. She can stand against that; she has before. It was the experience gap that came in for the first time. Sophie has faced many people who had more experience than her. Nina Stokes, Elijah Black, Jackson Magnum, XAD. She beat a few of them and took the rest to their limits. Here tonight? She was the loser. And that is after she lost her temper. Bobby got in her head. It threw her off. Then Lady Magdalena followed up with careful precision. She tore away at Sophie's psyche. It minimized each and every slam that Sophie had. People exclaimed at her strength, but Sophie knew that Magdalena could withstand it. Somewhere in Sophie's mind, she knew that she was going to lose. It's that voice of doubt that appears in most wrestlers' head. It keeps things realistic. However, while it exists as a vagrant whisper, it sung in full volume to Sophie in that ring. She didn't remember the count. Magdalena wrapped her arms around her throat, taking Sophie's insecurity and fears and turning them into a weapon. She knows that Sophie's berserk state is a thing to behold. It beat her senseless last time. Tonight, she found a way to make it Sophie's greatest weakness. She made Sophie stare at her in fear. While Sophie sat on the mat looking up, she only saw her mentor's elated smile. She knew that she was in control. Nothing else mattered in that match after that point. Both competitors knew the outcome well into the match. The closing bell was a simple validation of their thoughts. Decay. It was upon the horizon. Magdalena had earned her championship shot. Sophie's raving about becoming the best Hybrid Champion may have inspired fans to cheer loudly for her, but there was something amiss. Did they know that tonight was meant to be a loss for her? Did they know that Magdalena would walk out with that internal pride? Sophie sighs, refusing to let those thoughts come into metaphorical creation. Sophie looked skyward, for an answer to her endless questions. The one she needed an answer for was simple. "At Decay, can I beat her?" The score was 1-1 now. Sophie's win was meaningless. Lady Magdalena's words screamed louder than a full Latin choir. Sophie closed her eyes. Ashley told her to force her way out of her shadow. She was another wrestler that supported Sophie's emergence as an individual force. She had the crowd and the company rallying behind her. If she dropped the ball, disappointment will surround her. Ashley believed in her. How can one do escape their shadow when their shadow so much stronger than them? Edited by Sophie El, Oct 5 2016, 11:35 AM.
