J.Z. had just walked out of the medical assistance room where he was told that he would be fine but his arm might feel a little shitty for the next few weeks. Though his arm was okay he was pissed. He took off to find Sands and tell him I told you so. |

It’s backstage after Seizure of Power, and the camera picks up in one of the locker rooms, one lit dimly by candle light. Minerva Janus is sat there, head in her hands by the vast array of candles. There is a television screen in the corner of the room, and she is already reviewing her performance in the Gauntlet. She smiles sweetly, watching her and her sister work perfectly in tandem to eliminate not one, not two, but three teams in total on their way to the final two… But her expression soon turns to despair as the monstrous Slaves of Sami make their entrance. She watches on, witnessing herself and her sister, both exhausted from battling the teams from before try to defeat the two fresh behemoths. She watches as they came so close on a number of occasions, the number of near falls stacking up one after another. But then it came to the climax, Athena being hurled like a rag doll over the announce table, and the beasts finishing her off in the ring. She watches on, as the clearly hurt Athena came in to comfort her, before they used one of their disappearing acts to swiftly make their way backstage. Not a word had been shared between them, Athena having gone to shower and have her back checked out, their manager Bobby, openly furious about the Slaves being selected to enter last. “Not random at all” he had stated earlier, before seeking out the General Manager. Minerva couldn’t move from the spot, comforting herself with the darkness. Disappointment washed over her from the night's proceedings, though part of her was elated that Bobby had convinced Athena to come back for their match. “They don’t want us to succeed. Bobby is right… Still trying to tear us apart, threatened by what we could do, what we will do to their favourites… their chosen.” She gingerly stood up, her head ringing as she searched out her twin. "Ena?" she called… But she was nowhere to be found. Upon the table in the other room was a note, one that read: “Zoey was waiting. We had a flight. We had to leave.” A tear ran down her face. “They are now ‘We’… what am I?” Edited by Daughters of Janus, Nov 10 2016, 06:58 PM.

Just as things had come to a close with RISE's "Seizure Of Power", the cameras backstage had come alive as the new RISE Champion had turned the corner, patting the shiny title that sat on his shoulder. He tried to keep a calm profile, smiling towards the cameras as he kept looking back and forth at the RISE Championship. After continuous walking to what looked to be to his locker room, he finally seemed to break face, literally dropping to a knee. Sweat running down his face as the light on the camera had shined down. "I kept saying it over and over. Hard work would soon pay off. Tonight, I did what I said I was going to do. Ashley, all the props to her. She is tough as nails and I almost failed near the end but...but perseverance." Able to actually smile again and laugh, Tristan had stood back up, brushing back his hair in the process as he pointed into the camera. "Those who continued to believe in me, thank you. You mean the world to me. Major, major thanks to my mentor, Christian Kane. The advice he's given thus far has only led to very good things." Tristan continued walking towards his locker with a confident stroll. "Time to give this title the respect it truly deserves as I'm no longer the second best wrestler in RISE. I'm looking forward to what this beautiful journey has in store for me!" Stopping at his door, he looked back towards the camera. "Tonight, I look to enjoy and celebrate this major victory but tomorrow, I will be back to the normal. The work, the grind, getting better at the craft. This is only the beginning. Only the beginning." Throwing up the peace sign to the camera, Tristan opened and entered his room before closing the door as the cameras focused on his name on the door before fading out. |

The cameras come up backstage, with Destiny Bogdani introducing the cameras to one of the evening's surprise debuts, Josh Mitchell. Destiny explained to the RISE audience that Josh was formerly from the Lion's Den Fighting Championship, the former training program for Frontier Grappling Arts. She asked Josh why he was here, and he told her it was because of what she'd said. Lion's Den had closed down before he had finished training. He'd done a few things since it had closed, but was quite conscious that he felt like he wasn't yet ready to play in the big leagues. After looking at a number of developmental programs throughout the United States for the past few months, he sent in a resume and audition tape to the RISE training staff, and they'd accepted him. He rounded off by explaining that we was particularly looking forward to learning from some of the biggest names in the business. Destiny then asked Josh more about his actions tonight; in particular his interrupting of Berserker during his assault on Marlon Drake. Josh shrugged, and said that it wasn't anything to do with Berserker in particular, but rather than he wasn't prepared to sit by in the back and let him cripple a guy. He played down the moment, suggesting it's something anybody who'd been in position would have done. Destiny immediately follows up by pointing out that Josh may say that... but he was the only one who came out to help. Josh has no option but to shrug again, and tell her that he doesn't particularly know about that. He then apologises, telling Destiny he needs to meet with the RISE training staff before they leave for the night, and departs. with Destiny turning back to the camera, and telling the audience that they'll be bound to hear and see more of Josh over the coming months. |

The winter months in Michigan were nothing to joke about, and Boaz Kennedy Astor was finding that out first hand. He stood outside the McGuirk Arena wearing Cincinnati Bearcats basketball shorts and a black beater, a cigarette hanging out of his mouth as he tried to light it. “This fucking wind!” He tried to block the chilly breeze with his hand, but the wind was too powerful and continued to blow out the lighter flame. He realized that the chances of lighting the cigarette outside were slim to none, immediately turning his head to take a peek inside the arena doors. “... no security, no problem.” Not wasting any time, Boaz rushed toward the front door, ripped it open, and got himself inside. He double checked to make sure he didn’t see any security before he stuck the cigarette back in between his lips, but then… “CWOOOOOOSH!” "What the fuck was that?!" The sound of some sort of hollow object hitting the wall startled Boaz enough to make him drop the cigarette from his mouth and nearly soil himself. “I AM SICK OF THIS SHIT!” Knowing whose voice that was, Boaz slid his lighter into his pocket and moved in the direction of all the ruckus. He inched closer and closer, the voice of Ashley Hamilton still echoing throughout the hall. “Always too close but not close enough...every...damn...TIME!” “Maybe I should just stay away…” Boaz said to himself, still moving in the direction of Ashley’s voice. “... but what good would that be?” He made a quick left turn and saw the door to Ashley Hamilton’s locker room wide open. Inside, a very broken down Ashley was seen screaming and shouting - throwing around gifts from fans from tonight’s show such as flowers and stuffed animals. “I don’t want this stupid crap! I WANT THAT DAMN BELT!” She screamed out before kicking a stuffed animal of mickey mouse, taking the head right off. She felt the presence of someone in the room behind her, not bothering to to look before yelling. “If you know what’s good for you, you’d get the hell out. Today is not the damn day and I am absolutely not the one!” She shouted before turning back, surprised to see Boaz. “Well...” he laughed, pointing at the head of Mickey Mouse, “... I’m sure Mickey deserved it. I was a Pluto guy myself.” Ashley looked at him, not smiling or laughing, which was very different from how he had usually seen her, but instead looked disappointed and done. “Just more stupid shit those people send me because they expected me to pull out the miracle I promised them I would do. But alas...here we are…” She looked at him, tilting her head to the side. “What are you doing here? Everyone went home...and I know earlier I said I’d try and find you after the show, but I wasn’t expecting for what happened to have happened...again.” Ashley grunted as she kicked at a wall. “I think we can both say we weren’t expecting what happened to happen, but from what I was told?” Boaz pushed forward and took a seat in the first chair he spotted. “This is the nature of the business. I always hear the trainers talk about how ups and downs are the only thing consistent in your career, so maybe...” he shrugged. “... maybe this was just a down night.” The self proclaimed number one contenderS to the RISE Tag Team championships looked at the mess covering the room, his mind beginning to wonder when Ashley would hit her crying stage. “I don’t know what to say here. I stuck around because you told me to, and I said I would. My word is pretty much all I have here in the wrestling business, so I prefer not going back on it.” “A down night? A down night? How many down nights do I need to keep having? I'm sick of this pattern I'm going in. My luck is good till it comes time when I need it the most then it disappears.” Ashley spits out as she shakes her head. She looks up at him and steps closer. “I know I asked you to stick around and I'm glad you did. I want to talk about that offer you had for me.” She says looking at him, Boaz leaning back on his chair. “Well?” he inquired. “Nothing’s changed. I can help you, and one day I’m sure you’ll be able to help me. The offer isn’t for some one off occasion where I sic my boys on whoever the RISE Champion is so you could walk away with the gold. This offer is for … friendship. Real friendship where - as long as we’re here? You watch my back, I watch yours. You need me, I come to your aid. I need you - which more than likely won’t happen - you come to my aid. That’s what the offer is. I need four hundred dollars for a plane ticket, you give me that four hundred dollars.” Boaz stood up from his seat, his eyes never leaving Ashley. “Everyone has someone in this place. Famous relative, a higher up that’ll go to bat for them, a posse… everything. You and I? We’re two of the forgotten ones. That drives me crazy and I’ve only been here a few months. I can’t imagine what that does to someone like you. Someone like Miguel who’s been busting his ass to get better, but no one cares. Even Minerva, the forgotten twin. It’s bullshit, and I’m not going to fade into the background while the chosen ones get opportunities out the ass! I might mouth off about the trainers publicly, but they do what they can for us. They can’t wait on everyone hand and foot, and the people who get extra attention from them get it because they need it. Problem is? Everyone in this fucking place has a board member, or a GM, or a fucking relative on Time Warner.” Getting heated, Boaz looked away from Ashley and swiped his hand down his face. Ashley looked at him and stepped closer to him, nodding her head understanding his frustration. As she ran her hands through her hair, she spoke softly. "I understand how you feel and where you're coming from. I guess I've waited for people to give me that shred of confidence and back up I needed as support but alas, I don't come from a family dynasty and I don't have any higher ups looking over me. People used to think Blake would give me whatever I wanted when it came to my career and some people still think that, but what they fail to see is that he wanted me to work for what I get and still does, which makes sense. It's what people should do.. but there's still people here who seem to get special treatment because of a name or whatever." She shrugged and laughed to herself. "The reason why I waited so long to give you an answer wasn't because I wasn't sure if it was what I wanted or not. I waited because I had to figure out if I really wanted the side of people that's coming out to come out, because if it does I won't be going back to that quiet push over again. That girl is dead." She said, looking to the side. Her face went emotionless as she put her hands to her side, looked out. "People like us don't need special treatment. We don't need someone holding our hand and wiping our ass in this career like some of them do." Ashley says bluntly. “But…” Boaz interrupted, “...everyone needs help.” Without saying another word, Boaz reached his arm out for a handshake, hoping that Ashley would meet him halfway. Ashley glared down at Boaz’s hand, let out a sigh, then shook Boaz’s hand to confirm that the day had been made. What was next? Only they knew. |
