“But I’m ready now mom.” Asha said as she sat on her bed looking up at her mother. The room was fit for a princess as the decor was very lavish and even royal. Mrs. Astor shook her head at the eager young woman. “My child, you are not ready yet. You have to be patient and keep training. Keep working so that you can be the best.” She said encouraging her daughter to take her time and wait. Asha sighed deeply. “But I’ve been training for weeks now, I’m ready to be in the ring I’m ready to fight and show everyone who I am.” Asha said watching her mother closely. “A PPV has already gone by how much longer must I wait to make my entrance mom?” Mrs. Astor sat next to her daughter playing in her hair as she spoke to her. “You have to take the right moments. It’s like a game of chess my dear. You can’t make all of your moves in one go, and the first move is the most important although it may not seem that way. When you enter that ring you’ll gain attention. You’ll gain followers, but you have to do that at the correct time Asha.” Mrs. Astor said with a soft smile braiding Asha’s hair. “Ah, I understand.” Asha said looking around her room. “Hey, mom..did you talk to Boaz recently?” She asked curiously, but her mother avoided the question. “Have you looked at any ring gear? I’m thinking something that is stylish, but also elegant.” Asha nodded her head slowly before turning her body to face her mother. “Yes, I have actually. I’ve already sent some designs to the seamstress. She said that she would make a few test outfits to help me choose the one I really want. They should be arriving in the mail soon.” Asha stated. “That’s wonderful. I’m sure whatever you decide on wearing you’ll look beautiful.” Mrs. Astor said with a smile. Asha nodded before smiling softly. “I’ll be sure to let you see it when I try it on.” She said before nodding her head again. Her mother simply gave her a smile and got to her feet heading out the door. After she left Asha looked over at her night stand at a picture of her Boaz, and Mrs. Astor. It was an odd family photo, but she didn’t want to question her mother. She had to remain obedient. |
